00:16Today we're setting up a tank specifically for our octopus.
00:19Now, spoiler alert, I've already filmed that whole thing three months in advance.
00:24Now, fast forward to today, you're going to hear me talk a lot about like certain things like,
00:28oh, I'm going to set up this tank, I'm going to set up that tank,
00:30but we're really getting an octopus tank.
00:32This next clip is going to roll into us getting a new tank,
00:35and so we're going to be setting it up for the video.

00:40This is the stand right here, and this is the 45 gallon tank.

00:49so I'm going to go ahead and unbox this.
00:51Okay, also I do need you guys give me some recommendations on what we're
00:54going to put in this 240 gallon, because I have no idea.
00:57I can put a shark in this thing.
00:58It's so big, but I kind of want to do some leather coral.
01:02I want to get some anemones in there, so we're going to deck out this tank.

01:11The stand looks pretty dang good, honestly.
01:14Yeah, it was either a white variant that I could get or the black,
01:16and I ended up getting the black.

01:19We got the tank set up.
01:20We got the stand and the aquarium.

01:25Big shout out to Nick, who helped me put this up together.
01:28Now, I do have the light bar that I currently have in my other tank,
01:32but I kind of wanted to let you guys be able to see it with the light on there.
01:35So we'll have to buy another aquarium light and we'll put it on the back of this
01:39so that it'll be a little bit better than the four foot long tank.
01:42But this is the tank.
01:44Now, I do have all of the sand that I'm going to need.
01:46I'm also got a plenty of rocks,
01:48filtration bags that we're going to be using for this thing,
01:51and it's a pretty, pretty easy build.
01:53So this thing is already plumbed for me, so I don't have to do anything.
01:56It's going to get siphoned into this and then it's going to get out of the filtration
02:00and you pump back into that.
02:02The stand is really freaking nice.
02:04I really like this thing.
02:05This kind of build underneath.
02:09So that is that.
02:10Now, I think what we're going to do is we're going to get everything right.
02:13We're going to put the sand, we're going to put the water,
02:15then we'll put the rocks.
02:16And then after everything settles for about a couple hours,
02:19we're going to put a clownfish in there.
02:20He's currently in the trash can right now.
02:22You guys can't see it because of the light,
02:23but we're going to put him in there.
02:24And we're pretty much just going to jumpstart the tank
02:26because I got a bunch of rocks in that trash can
02:28that are already going to be cycled and everything.
02:30So he'll be good in there.
02:32I kind of want to just, you know, have some life in there.
02:35We might put the shrimp as well in here.
02:36Here's a little update on Finn.
02:38Finn was very, very sick.
02:40He is starting to get, he's getting really, really better.
02:44So hey, what's up, Finn?

02:48He's going crazy.
02:49It's been about an hour, I would say.
02:51I had to clean some of the filter pieces inside of that,
02:55and no one cares about that.
02:56But I got some of the rocks in there.
02:57Also, I had some sand.
02:59This is only one bag of the Caribbean Sea,
03:01and it got a good, I would say, a half inch on this thing.
03:03So that's not too bad.
03:04What we're going to do is we are going to finish the rockscape.
03:08This thing actually turned out really nice.
03:10Here's the aquascape that I went with.
03:12It is pretty much just a bunch of caves,
03:14is what I ended up doing.
03:15I probably used probably like 10 or so rocks.
03:18Oh my gosh, this thing actually looks so, so good.
03:21I actually like it.
03:22You know, it's got a bunch of spots with fish or octopus.
03:25I haven't decided what we're going to put in here.
03:27For now, we're going to put the clownfish.
03:28I also might put a wrasse in there.
03:30So what we're going to do, this is going to make a lot of people mad
03:32for what I'm about to do,
03:33but I'm actually going to put one of my clownfish in there.
03:35The reason I'm going to do that is to show you guys
03:37that you don't need a fully established tank
03:39to put your fish in there.
03:40So this is what we're going to do.
03:41We're going to take a bunch of the rocks
03:43that have been cycling for literally,
03:45like they've been in there.
03:46They've been in that tank for literally years.
03:48So what we're going to do is we're going to take those small rocks.
03:50We're going to put them in the sump.
03:51It's going to jumpstart that ecosystem.
03:52It's going to be allowing the fish to be able to live in there.
03:55So that's what we're going to do.
03:56I'll update you guys when we get the water in there.

03:59We're back and I got the tank fully cycled or not fully cycled.
04:02I got the tank fully covered in water.
04:05So this is the tank right now.
04:07Dude, this thing looks super nice.
04:11This is the full tank design.
04:13Now the plumbing is all in this chamber right here.
04:16So I don't have to have anything hanging on the back.
04:18So big shout out to Angel Aquariums.
04:20They helped me set this up.
04:21Also, big shout out to Caribbean Sea.
04:24They were the ones that sent me all of the rock
04:25and they also sent me all of the sand.
04:27So big shout out to those guys.
04:28Also, when I was editing this video,
04:30I just noticed that at the beginning of the video,
04:32I was talking about we're going to get some cool fish or creatures
04:35and I've decided that we're going to do an octopus tank.
04:38That's what we're going to be putting into the 45 gallon.
04:40I saw one of the octopuses at my pet store
04:42and I was like, you know what?
04:43Let's get it.
04:44Yeah, this is going to be it.
04:45We're going to be putting an octopus in there.
04:47Tomorrow, we're going to be getting the octopus.
04:49So right now we're kind of sealing the aquarium,
04:51pretty much making it where it's literally pretty much impossible
04:53for the octopus to get out.
04:54So this is what I've got right now.
04:56Kind of these little strips right here
04:58and it's pretty much going to seal
04:59the only small cracks that are on the glass.
05:01So right here, you can see that there's a small little crack right there.
05:06I mean, it's not really big enough for the octopus to even get out,
05:08but we're not going to take chances because it could get out
05:11and we're going to have to seal that.
05:13And then also I got some Velcro strips.
05:15So these are the Velcro strips that we're going to be using.
05:18They hold up to 10 pounds.
05:19I got six of them.
05:20So we're going to do like one here, one here,
05:22and then one on the back and then on the other side as well.
05:24This is what the tanks have been looking like.
05:26This is like four, four or five days running.
05:28Yeah, I've just been kind of letting it settle.
05:30It looks really, really, really good.
05:32We're going to be putting that on there.
05:33I'll kind of show you guys once we fill up,
05:34once we kind of finish the setup for the octopus.
05:36So one, he can't spray us.
05:38Water is a little bit of a crack right here.
05:41He'll shoot water at you.
05:43And so we're going to pretty much seal that.
05:44Also, I've got Nemo and Dory in this trash can.
05:47They've been in that tank for that, in that bucket for so long.
05:49I think we're going to go ahead and put them in the 150.

05:52It has been a long time since I have literally built that last club.
05:56That was, I think I, I think I filmed that like mid-October,
05:59maybe partially in September.
06:01And we'll show you guys the octopus
06:04because you guys haven't even seen the octopus yet
06:06because you know, it's been two or three months
06:09since I have actually got him.
06:11And so right now we've got him actually in a hamster ball.
06:13If you guys saw the short form videos,
06:16we put him in there just to see if he can escape.
06:19You know, he actually did not escape.
06:20So we're actually going to have to release him from this
06:23and put him actually back into the tank.
06:25So we're going to remove him actually right now.
06:27So you guys can see a lot more.
06:29And so we're going to remove him.
06:30Also, this tank is completely different as well.
06:33It just looks terrible.
06:34It's got a really bad algae problem right now.
06:36So you can kind of see I've got a little bit of the dinos everywhere.
06:40So this tank is getting smoked.
06:42Also, we added another tank.
06:43Probably going to get rid of that, to be honest with you,
06:45because I don't really like it.
06:47The only update with this one,
06:48it's got a lot more plants and there's a beta fish in there.

06:56the outside wrapping for this.
06:58I added a ton of that sealant and a lot of Velcro.
07:03Now I will say our octopus buddy, he did escape.
07:06Ollie escaped, but I didn't realize
07:08that I had to tape up the backside of the tank too.
07:10So he actually got out of that when I was like sleeping.
07:13So that was a scary time.
07:15He got out through his backside.
07:17So the way I sealed it is I kind of put these blocks on top of it
07:21and he has not gotten out of it since.
07:24So I think we've got it sealed for the most part,
07:26but he has escaped.
07:27So these guys are not as easy as it seems to care for.

07:32I'm going to take all the Velcro off of this side.
