00:00The other day I was scrolling through Facebook marketplace and I came across this post of an abandoned saltwater tank that comes with a live shark.
00:06Just look at this thing, you can barely even see through it.
00:09It's got salt crusted to the sides and somehow a shark is living inside.
00:14Apparently the shark is growing too quick for the aquarium and he cannot afford to upgrade it.
00:18So all he's asking is $10 and that is an absolute steal, so let's go save the shark.
00:24So we got in the car and drove out to meet the seller to pay a whopping $10 for this shark.
00:28Alright guys, we got the aquarium and this tank is even dirtier than it looks in the photos.
00:34And it smells.
00:35We haven't seen any shark moving around in here, but I really hope he's alive because if he is, we're going to build him his dream aquarium.
00:42I can't believe we only paid $10 for this aquarium, but the seller had one special request and that was to keep the shark's name, Mr. Jaws.
00:51So we raced home and hoped that the shark was still alive.
00:54We added a filter into the tank to help clear up the water, hoping that we'd be able to see inside.
00:59But after about an hour, the water did not clear up at all.
01:02We're not going to waste any more time. Sharks are extremely sensitive to bad water.
01:06We got to hurry up and find this guy and hope he's still alive.
01:09So we started to take each rock out of the tank and to our surprise, we found something that we were not expecting.
01:15Oh, that is an unexpected find. I thought it was just a shark.
01:20After we found that starfish, we were shocked because we thought there was only a shark living inside.
01:24Who knows what else could be living in here?
01:26So we got back to searching and it turns out there was more sea creatures inside.
01:30Dude, what the heck is this?
01:32He just grabbed onto the net.
01:33That is not a shark.
01:36What is that? That is the most insane crab ever.
01:39He's blowing bubbles.
01:40I've never seen this before in my life, dude.
01:43Oh my God.
01:44Bro, we got so lucky we did not grab that thing.
01:47He looks exactly like a rock.
01:48He attacked the net.
01:50This thing is a savage.
01:52The net hit the water for 0.2 seconds and went nuts on it.
01:56We then got a little worried that there might not even be a shark in this tank and we may have gotten scammed.
02:01But it didn't take long, a few more swipes, and we finally found him.
02:05I see him. Got him.
02:08Let's go. Is he alive?
02:09He's a baby guy, bro.
02:12Oh my God.
02:13He's not looking too good, dude. Is he alive?
02:15You alive, buddy?
02:18I see Gil moving. I see Gil moving. Yes!
02:20He's alive. Let's go.
02:23He must be really stressed out from this move, man.
02:25Once we got him in some clean water, he does appear to be pretty healthy.
02:29And to our surprise, this is a rare marbled cat shark.
02:33Between the calico crab, the starfish, and the rare shark,
02:36we could probably sell all these fish right here for about $500.
02:40And little did I know, that shark that was living in there has a rare special ability
02:44that makes him one of the most efficient predators in the entire animal kingdom.
02:48Yeah, this video is epic.
02:50To start off the tank build process,
02:51the first step was to clean out the disgusting tank from the cellar
02:54because this aquarium is going to be his temporary holding tank
02:57while we build his actual dream home.
02:59Because this tank is just way too small.
03:01And while I'm working on this, I'm sending Jack to the beach
03:04to find real wild cat sharks and observe what their natural habitat looks like.
03:08That way, we can build the perfect tank for Mr. Jaws.
03:12Guys, I'm here at the beach and I'm about to swim a few hundred yards out to sea
03:16to find some real wild cat sharks.
03:19But I need to be extremely careful
03:21because what I'm about to do is actually extremely dangerous.
03:24Right now is the black tip shark migration
03:27and there are thousands of sharks swimming right here hunting for their next meal.
03:31And I don't want to be one of them.
03:33So wish me luck.
03:35Let's get out there.
03:36I don't know what is taking Jack so long.
03:38Mr. Jaws has turned a corner for the worst and doesn't look like he's doing too good.
03:42Jack needs to hurry up and get back here.
03:44This has been a super stressful day for him
03:46and we need to get building on this tank.
03:47And speaking of stress, one of the most stressful things is when you're traveling
03:51and you lose cell service right when you need it most.
03:54That's exactly why I started using Saily,
03:57an eSIM service that helps keep you connected in over 190 countries
04:01without expensive roaming fees.
04:03When I went to Spain last year, I didn't have to deal with searching for Wi-Fi
04:06or dealing with overpriced local SIM cards.
04:09With Saily, I just installed the eSIM once
04:11and boom, I had instant data as soon as I landed.
04:14And the best part, Saily helps you avoid shady SIM card vendors from the airports
04:19all while keeping your connection safe.
04:21So if you're traveling for fun, work, or just want peace of mind,
04:24Saily's got you covered.
04:26Right now, you can get 15% off your Saily plan.
04:29Just download the app and use code THEFISHGUYS at checkout
04:32or scan the QR code on screen to get started.
04:35Now let's check back in with Jack and see if he made it back safely.
04:38It didn't take me long to get out to the reef and actually find one of these sharks.
04:42And I didn't only find one, I found three.
04:44It was clear that they like a rocky environment with lots of caves and a thriving reef.
04:49Now that I know exactly what a cat shark's habitat looks like,
04:52it's time to start building.
04:54To kick things off, we're gonna start with the middle of the aquarium
04:57before we move on to our crazier ideas for the right and left side.
05:00So we added in some sand because obviously the bottom of the ocean has sand
05:04and we spread it evenly throughout the entire tank.
05:06We also added in some water and then started building our reef by adding in some rocks.
05:10We want to build this guy a very spacious cave.
05:13Right now, it looks a little bit bland, so to bring it to life,
05:15we added in a feather duster and a mangrove plant.
05:18This is starting to look really good.
05:20But now it's time to work on the right side of the tank where things are about to get crazy.
05:24Moving on to the right side of the tank,
05:25we had an idea to build an underground tunnel
05:28where he can hide from the sunlight and ambush his prey.
05:30And let me tell you, he absolutely loved this thing.
05:33So to get started on building this, we had a clear PVC pipe and we cut it to fit the tank.
05:37We sanded down the edges to make sure they weren't too sharp.
05:40Then we got out this sledgehammer to smash this rock into a thousand pieces.
05:46Oh!
05:49We got plenty of rock now, Jack. Don't worry.
05:52Now that we have these many rocks,
05:54it's time to hot glue them to this pipe to make the coolest cave ever.
05:57And after we were done gluing all the rocks to the front,
05:59it was time to place it into the tank.
06:01We buried it under some sand to give it that super cave feel.
06:05And to finish it off, we put some more rocks around it to hide the pipe.
06:08We even gave this guy his own personal driveway to get in and out of the tunnel.
06:12And to bring in some color, we added an orange tree gargonian,
06:16which is this sea fan looking thing that completes the right side perfectly.
06:20This aquarium is starting to look really good.
06:22And honestly, this shark is going to have a nicer driveway than I do.
06:26But now it's time to move on to the left side, which is going to be even crazier than now.
06:30Now, this is where we're going to be building a feeding platform
06:32in order to hand-feed Mr. Jaws from the surface of the water.
06:35So we bought a turtle dock from the reptile store,
06:37and obviously, it does not go with the theme of the aquarium.
06:40So it's time to do some serious turtle dock renovation.
06:43We got out some glue and covered the sides of the platform in rock.
06:46We then added it into the aquarium and covered the entire surface with sand, like Salt Bae.
06:52It looked really good, and little did we know,
06:54this was going to be Mr. Jaws' favorite spot in the entire aquarium.
06:58And to finish off the left side, we added in some sponges to brighten it up
07:02and give it that live reef feel.
07:04And we are not done yet.
07:05I saved the coolest addition for last in this box right here.
07:08Jack, open it up.
07:10Thank you very much, brother.
07:11Yo! We got tons of fish!
07:14Let's go.
07:15Sergeant Majors, Sand Perch.
07:17Full-blown reef.
07:19What's a reef without some fish?
07:21Here we go.
07:22No way.
07:23Enjoy your new home, boys.
07:25Let's freaking go!
07:28That looks epic.
07:29Now it's time to add Mr. Jaws into his dream aquarium.
07:33I mean, come on, guys.
07:33He went from this to this.
07:36I mean, that is a major upgrade.
07:37But first, we have to add in those other sea creatures that we found in that abandoned tank,
07:41starting with this six-legged red starfish.
07:45All right, buddy.
07:46He is really gonna enjoy it here.
07:47Put him right front and center of this tank, right next to that mangrove.
07:51Up next, we added in the calico crab.
07:54Now, this crab is known for its striking spotted shell,
07:57but little do you know, this guy is actually toxic,
08:00making him very unsafe for human consumption.
08:03They are also masters at burrowing,
08:05and will often dig entirely under the sand with only their eyes and antenna exposed to detect food and predators.
08:11Finally, it's time to not only add Jaws to his dream aquarium,
08:15but also show off what makes him so unique.
08:18So we scooped the shark out of his temporary enclosure and added him into the tank,
08:22and right away, he swam to that underground tunnel that we built for him.
08:25This seemed to be his favorite spot in the whole tank,
08:28and with him being in the tunnel where he can hunt down prey,
08:31it was time to test out some live food options for him and show off his special ability.
08:35Marbled cat sharks have an incredible sense of smell, which makes them so unique.
08:40They can detect and smell their prey up to a quarter mile away,
08:43so it's time to put this special ability to the test.
08:46First up, we're gonna test some live grass shrimp.
08:49Now, these guys don't really put out much scent in the water,
08:52but they are alive and will create some vibrations,
08:55so we're gonna see if he likes to eat them.
08:57As soon as he swam through the tunnel, we introduced the live shrimp,
09:00and he didn't even seem to notice it was there.
09:02He took no interest in it, so now we know this shark does not like live shrimp.
09:07So we moved on to our next food option, the dead silverside.
09:10He was over by the sponge forest when we dropped in the silverside,
09:14and as soon as we introduced it near him, he wasted no time and pounced,
09:18biting down hard on the silverside with his small, razor-sharp teeth,
09:23and then swallowing it entirely whole.
09:25Now that we know he was eating well, it was time to introduce him to the hand-feeding dock.
09:30This is where he's gonna have to swim to the surface of the water in order to get his food.
09:34So all we did is get out a dead shrimp and place it on top of the dock.
09:37He instantly started smelling it and started swimming all around the tank,
09:41until he finally realized he had to swim up to the surface in order to get it.
09:46Once he found out where that scent was coming from,
09:48he scooted his body on top of the custom feeding dock
09:51and smashed the big live shrimp in an instant.
09:55I think this spot is gonna be his favorite place to eat.
09:59I can't believe we got all these fish in here, including a shark,
10:02for only $10 and built them their dream aquarium.
10:05Let me know what you guys think of it down in the comments.
10:07If you guys want to see where we bought $10,000 worth of mystery boxes,

10:13It was insane.
