Más que dolor menstrual: Luz Marina Araque comparte cómo la Endometriosis cambió su vida para siempre
Transcript
00:00It was very difficult for me to not have someone to talk to.
00:04Because even though my parents listened to me and supported me,
00:07and they still do today,
00:09they didn't understand what I was going through.
00:13And in my family, there was no one with an endometriosis diagnosis,
00:16neither among my friends,
00:17so I always felt different,
00:20like we say here in Colombia, a weird bug,
00:22because it was the only one in my close circle
00:25who had this disease,
00:27which I didn't know much about,
00:30and which I didn't understand much about.
00:32And limiting myself to taking a medicine every day
00:36that inhibits your menstruation,
00:37that disconnects you from your cycle,
00:39that was also very difficult for me.
00:41There were times when the symptoms were controlled
00:43and I felt very well,
00:45but there were other times when I had relapses,
00:47and I felt very bad,
00:49so that affected my relationship with the environment a lot,
00:52my social life,
00:54I stopped accepting invitations,
00:56I stopped spending time with friends and family,
00:59I stopped being at home,
01:01I was in a lot of pain.
01:03All of that ended up affecting my mental health.
