In the village of Bhoolpur, an orphan girl named Radha devotedly worshipped Lord Shiva. Near the temple lived a mysterious black serpent, feared by the villagers, but Radha continued her prayers and left milk for the serpent every Monday.
Betrayed by her lover, Rakesh, Radha was left alone and pregnant. As she neared death, she placed her newborn son at Lord Shiva’s feet, praying for his protection. Years passed, and Radha’s son, Raju, grew up under Kokila’s care. Meanwhile, Kokila longed for her husband, Naagraj, who had been captured by a sorcerer. During the Nag Panchami festival, a snake charmer’s basket accidentally released a serpent—Naagraj, who had lost his divine gem. Recognizing him, Kokila revealed her true form.
Panicked, Raju and the villagers mistook the serpents for a threat and attacked. In fear and misunderstanding, they beat Kokila and Naagraj to death. Only after the snake charmer revealed their true identities did the villagers realize their tragic mistake. The temple was restored, and Raju was raised by the village landlord, never knowing the true sacrifice of his mother.
