00:00Former President Rodrigo Duterte will be immediately sent to a detention facility.

00:05It's time for him to be turned over to the ICC in The Hague.

00:10The former president will be a cell there for the execution of Rafi Tima.

00:19More than 24 hours after he was arrested,

00:22he was taken on a plane and was flown out of the country.

00:26Former President Rodrigo Duterte is still on a trip to The Hague in the Netherlands.

00:31Earlier this morning at 8 a.m. Philippine time,

00:33the Gulfstream G550 Jet stopped over in Dubai to refuel.

00:39But before 4 p.m. on the same day the plane took off to Rotterdam in The Hague Airport,

00:44according to a source, the former president's family asked the Philippine Embassy in The Netherlands

00:49to send him to The Hague.

00:51But the ICC did not agree because of security issues.

00:55Based on the protocol,

00:56the former president will be turned over by the CIDG from the plane to the ICC.

01:02From the airport, he will be immediately taken to the ICC detention facility

01:05in the Chevening and Section of the Hague Penitentiary Institution in The Hague.

01:08The high wall of the penitentiary is complete with barbed wire, electric fence,

01:12and three CCTV cameras.

01:15Inside the facility, there is another wall that looks like a castle.

01:19Based on the ICC website, the detention center is complete with facilities.

01:23The detainee has his own cell.

01:25The cell has its own CR, table, bed, television, and intercom.

01:31The detainee also has access to the gym, sports facilities, kitchen, and computer.

01:36Based on the protocol,

01:37the former president will be booked in the cell.

01:41The former Liberian President Charles Taylor,

01:45who is also accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes,

01:48was also assisted in the facility.

01:51He is currently traveling to The Hague.

01:53In the news of this afternoon to Atty. Salvador Panelo,

01:56he said that the vice president agreed to get a bodyguard from the former president in the ICC.

02:02If a defendant is in the custody of the ICC,

02:05the Pre-Trial Chamber 1 will schedule a hearing

02:07so that the defendant in their custody will not be accused in the case.

02:13The hearing will last for a week for confirmation of charges

02:17and if there is a sufficient basis for it to stand as a case.

02:20If Duterte's trial continues,

02:22it is possible that he is the first Asian-headed state to be tried by the ICC.

02:27According to International Criminal Court,

02:29Assistant to Counsel, Atty. Cristina Conti,

02:31the fastest trial in a case of crimes against humanity is two years

02:35and can last for eight years.
