00:15Hi Lillian Diaz Naranjo, Shane Yauyao, at Ruby Linami.
00:31Dito, bibigyang parangalang 2024 Paris Olympics Bronze Medallist ng Sinanesti Pitecio at Ira Villegas bilang Athlete of the Year.
01:06The end goal is really to recognize and honor Filipino athletes. Once again, to celebrate the achievements of Filipino athletes in both national and international competitions, to inspire continued excellence, promote gender equality in Philippine sports, address disparities in funding, recognition, and opportunity needs of Filipino men and women athletes.
01:27To encourage grassroots participation, to inspire young Filipinas to engage in sports, fostering a stronger pipeline for national athletes, and lastly, to acknowledge contributions beyond athletes. To recognize coaches, technical officials, administrators, and advocates. Even if they have no experience in being an athlete, coach, or sports executive, we want to recognize advocates who advance women's sports in the Philippines.
02:19We would like to accommodate as much as we can for time and effort constraints. First and foremost, the Office of POKPO has a list. So, you know, they are doing their research, they are doing their homework, and obviously there is a certain criteria that's being followed for awardees to be recognized.
02:44So, we'll just leave it up to the Office of POKPO and whoever will decide for the next edition for women's sports awards.
