00:00How strong does Russia look to you right now?
00:02Well, clearly, it's been strong enough to continue the fight in Ukraine and probably
00:08could continue it.
00:09It's transformed its economy onto a wartime footing.
00:15So they are beginning to, they are able to replenish some of the material that's being
00:20used up in Ukraine, and they do seem to have an endless supply of reinforcements.
00:26So to that extent, you know, they maintain that kind of superiority of force over Ukraine.
00:34Yet, of course, there is, you know, there is damage and the longer the war goes on,
00:40the structural side of the economy, there's high inflation, there's high inflation there,
00:44there are high interest rates, and there is always the risk for those in power that sooner
00:50or later there may be serious unrest as to the direction of the country.
00:56Not least, of course, because their assets have been frozen abroad, there are sanctions
01:01on a lot of the stuff they would otherwise be importing or able to export, and life is
01:07not as pleasant there in Russia as it was before the war started.
