Lisa Lundie, of Next Stage Performing Arts and Let's Pretend with Lisa, is preparing for a challenging 'Entertainathon' a four hour, non-stop session of singing and dancing. Children, families and members of the community will join Lisa physically (and virtually as the event will be streamed), to raise funds for the launch of her book, The Most Precious Gift, a children's story with inspiration from her personal experience of Lisa's IVF journey, as her child Gabrielle, who in now three, is the result of a donor egg. Lisa said:"At age 16, donor-conceived children have the right to obtain the donor’s basic information, then at 18, full contact information. However, my own experience has shown me that there is minimal support as to how to open this dialogue with the child. This inspired me to write a children’s story, in the form of rhyming couplets to help aid children’s understanding. The story focuses upon Hattie hen, who is unable to lay eggs of her own and Annie hen who gifts her with one of her eggs."

The funds raised from sponsorship and donations will go towards the printing costs of the book, which is thought to be one of the first in the world to help parents explain their donor egg journey to their children.

The event will be held at Stubshaw Cross Club, Ashton-in-Makerfield, on Bank Holiday Monday 26th May 10am-2pm. For more information contact Let's Pretend with Lisa on social media.

00:00My name is Lisa Lundy and I'm from Next Stage Performing Arts and Let's Pretend With Lisa.
00:06And I'm here to tell you all about the launch of my new book, The Most Precious Gift.
00:11It's a story all about my IVF journey and the fact that my little girl Gabrielle is the result of a donor egg.
00:19And there's little support out there for families to have that conversation with their little ones,
00:25to explain how they came about, how they were born.
00:29So I've written a little allegory about a chicken who can't have her own egg, she can't lay her own egg.
00:35So another hen gives her an egg and that enables her to become a mum.
00:40So that book is going to be released on the 25th of July this year, which is World IVF Day.
00:47And we're trying to raise £2,500 for the initial printing costs of the book.
00:54So with that in mind, we are going to be doing Wigan's very first giant entertain-a-thon.
01:00Basically, I'm going to be on stage for four hours, non-stop, with your classic action songs from Agadoo, Cha-Cha Slide, Choo Choo Ah, you name it.
01:10It'll be non-stop for four hours and we're inviting families from around Wigan to get involved.
01:15Anybody can join in, you can get sponsorship.
01:18And if you can join us on the day at Stubbs Shore Cross Club in Ashton in Makefield,
01:23or you can take part virtually because we'll be live on Facebook.
01:27So absolutely anybody can get involved, whether you're two or 92, it's open to absolutely everybody.
01:34So get in touch to find out how to get a sponsorship form and how to come along and get involved in the day.
01:39We'd love to see you there. Thank you so much.
