00:00Jalan Imbi is one of the main roads in Kuala Lumpur's Kuala Lumpur 5-level Mian Deng area.

00:11Jalan Imbi is originally called Imbi Road in English.
00:13Now, within one kilometer of Jalan Imbi,
00:14there is a single-car train station and a large shopping mall.
00:16The traffic is very heavy.
00:18There is a hotel here called Metro Hotel.
00:20It is a former residence of a police officer during the British colonial period.
00:23This officer is called Imbi Bin Siddin.
00:25In 1899, one year before his retirement,
00:27he bought a piece of land at the junction of Jalan Pudu and Jalan Imbi
00:30and built a traditional high-rise house in Malaysia.
00:32Six years later, the government decided to develop this area
00:34and allocated a part of the land to him.
00:36Because this residence is still a landmark,
00:38it has a local influence.
00:39So this new street is named after him.
00:42As for why an officer has such a big influence,
00:45he joined the Malacca Police Force at the age of 16.
00:47After working for 17 years, he was assigned to the 5-level Mian Deng police station.
00:50And a few years later, he was promoted to the chief officer.
00:53Then he served in a prison for about 21 and a half years
00:55until his retirement.
