00:00:00On December 2nd, we released our third commercial game, Get to Work, a rage game about climbing the corporate ladder on rollerblades that rewards hitting clean jumps, smooth lines, and precision, and punishes, well, pretty well, every mistake.
00:00:12And during our development, playtesters kept saying one thing.
00:00:16I can't wait to see the speedrun of this game.
00:00:20And holy ****, they were right.
00:00:23The number of jaw-dropping, brain-busting strats the runners came up with during our speedrun competition was beyond our wildest expectations.
00:00:31What in the **** am I watching?
00:00:34This is the story of how speedrunners broke our rage game, Get to Work.
00:00:39Now, before I dive in, this video contains a ton of spoilers, so if you plan on playing the game, I'd strongly suggest trying it first and then coming back to this video.
00:00:47You've been warned. Here we go.
00:00:49The goal of Get to Work is to reach the top.
00:00:51You start in your parents' basement, work your way through various jobs, and end up a CEO.
00:00:55Now, Get to Work is a hard game.
00:00:57Even the first section of the game, which is used to teach you the main mechanics, caused people to struggle.
00:01:05Dude, it's not, I don't, uh...
00:01:09And as you progress through the game, the game only gets harder.
00:01:12No. The pipe. No.
00:01:16Dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, this...
00:01:19And harder.
00:01:23Put a f***ing bullet through my f***ing skull!
00:01:26And harder.
00:01:36And of the 8% of people who actually beat the game, it usually takes them anywhere from
00:01:408 to 15 hours.
00:01:51Where credit is due, out of all the big streamers, Ludwig beat the game the fastest in 5 hours
00:01:55and 15 minutes.
00:02:00And let me tell you, even as the dev of the game, that's an incredibly impressive time.
00:02:05But speedrunners are built a little different.
00:02:09Day 1 was the Wild West.
00:02:11You see, we were holding a speedrun competition for the fastest times after days 1, 3, and
00:02:1610.
00:02:17And on day 1, nobody had seen or played the game, so everyone was really just trying to
00:02:21get a feel for the mechanics, beat the game for the first time, and get a good first run.
00:02:33Dan Carano, a variety streamer known for speedrunning Pogostuck, was one of the first runners to
00:02:38submit a competitive time.
00:02:40For context, Dan beat the game for the first time in under 3 hours.
00:02:47Like I said, speedrunners are built different.
00:02:50Now this run has no major skips, but acts as a good baseline for all future runs.
00:02:56This is the entire run from start to finish.
00:02:58And to make it easier to digest, I've split the run into 6 major sections.
00:03:03These sections each have multiple checkpoints, which is what you can see in the built-in
00:03:07speedrun timer we included in the game.
00:03:10The first section of the game is applying for jobs.
00:03:13It's meant to be a massive parkade with very large, forgiving jumps.
00:03:16Once you land your first interview, you're in the pendulum section.
00:03:20These little swinging platforms are called pendulums, and if you hit them at the right
00:03:23angle, they launch you nicely into the air.
00:03:26Individually, with some good timing, they're pretty easy to hit, but as we'll see in later
00:03:30runs, chaining them together is very hard.
00:03:33Dan does it at a casual pace, but completes it with no mistakes, and ends up as a warehouse
00:03:38trainee.
00:03:39This section is relatively straightforward, with several jumps used to teach new players
00:03:42how to maneuver, and it quickly brings you into the first big section of the game, the
00:03:47warehouse.
00:03:48The warehouse is a massive, open structure with lots of jumps and the first slingshot.
00:03:54A grabbable platform that launches the player forward.
00:03:59Dan doesn't use any skips, and continues to work his way through the warehouse, following
00:04:03the normal path.
00:04:04And as you can see, the red lines, which indicate his route, cross over a lot, and between the
00:04:08various slingshots, the open jumps that weave back and forth, and the sheer speed you can
00:04:13get from all of the elements, you can see there is a lot of room for improvement.
00:04:17Bumper skip.
00:04:19This was obviously incredibly intentional.
00:04:20Doesn't do the second part.
00:04:21It doesn't even do the second part.
00:04:22Even I do that.
00:04:23Yeah.
00:04:24I don't even beat the game yet.
00:04:26Yeah.
00:04:27Dan right now is just running on pure, solid, fundamental mechanics.
00:04:31And as you can see, as this video keeps going, the room is really big and really open.
00:04:35And he moves into what I call the A-frame section.
00:04:38These black textured, A-shaped obstacles are quite tricky and require a great deal of precision.
00:04:43But Dan makes it through into the unpaid intern section, where he struggles for a good, solid
00:04:47three minutes.
00:04:48The grinders are just trying to like, get a solid, no mistakes time.
00:04:52No big falls.
00:04:53It's funny.
00:04:54There's a lot of mistakes too.
00:04:55But then, he does his first skip.
00:04:58This is the four floors.
00:04:59And the normal route has you going around and around, gaining height each time.
00:05:03But what's cool about this section is that it takes you back to the same jump every time.
00:05:08But since you gain height, you can jump higher every lap.
00:05:12Which is how you climb up the four floors.
00:05:14And between you and me, it's definitely one of the levels I'm most proud of.
00:05:18Come on.
00:05:19That's kind of a cool idea.
00:05:20Anyway, Dan figures out if you launch off the oval at the perfect angle, you can get
00:05:24more speed.
00:05:25Floor three skip.
00:05:27And skip a floor.
00:05:28After beating the rest of the level, he moves on to a new section I haven't shown yet.
00:05:32The junior financial analyst section.
00:05:34This is roughly the halfway point, and introduces one of my favorite level features.
00:05:38The giant cogs.
00:05:40These massive cogs spin around, and when you grab onto them and release, they fling you
00:05:44into the air.
00:05:45They're a ton of fun, and allow us to create a bigger, more open section than any other
00:05:49level so far.
00:05:51And after traversing all the way through, you end up at the infamous bumper section.
00:05:56This is the section that destroys casual players.
00:06:19Now bless his heart, even with diagrams and strategic planning, it took popular streamer
00:06:24Pay Money Wubby an hour and 45 minutes to get through this section.
00:06:28Which is very normal.
00:06:29And let me say, it was damn entertaining to see him conquer this section.
00:06:42There are speedrunners who are like, yeah, I'll just go do it in two minutes, I'll be
00:06:44back up.
00:06:45Actually, Dan does it in a minute and 58, but potato potato.
00:06:48And what's really crazy is he does it without any crazy skips, and makes a couple of mistakes
00:06:52along the way.
00:06:53Dan is making great time.
00:06:57And moves in to middle management.
00:07:00In my opinion, this is where the difficulty really starts to ramp up.
00:07:03If you look at middle management, and you're confused about where to go, well, that's because
00:07:07this section is intentionally designed to be a bit of a maze.
00:07:11The goal is to slowly work your way up the pyramid, but the normal player experience
00:07:14has a lot more looking around, crying, yelling, more yelling, and angst.
00:07:23But if you complete the normal route with no mistakes like Dan does, you conquer the
00:07:30maze that is middle management in two minutes and 25 seconds, and move on to the second
00:07:34part of middle management that we call the giant slope.
00:07:38This section has you traversing jumps back and forth as you climb up to become department
00:07:42head, and takes you into the last middle management section, where Dan introduces the first truly
00:07:47major skip of the game.
00:07:49Now normally, to beat the final section of middle management, you have to hit some very
00:07:52tricky precise jumps that loop you around and back, and then hit a big final jump that
00:07:58if you screw up, will punish you severely and drop you all the way down.
00:08:07But instead of doing the big full loop, he just skips it.
00:08:12Let me explain.
00:08:13This is the wall bounce skip.
00:08:17My intention with this level was for the player to drive up to it, attempt to grab it, but
00:08:20realize that it's just out of reach.
00:08:23And to be clear, every player tries to hit the wall and get up.
00:08:26We knew about this.
00:08:27And so what Dan does is not easy.
00:08:29But at the perfect angle and speed, he bounces off the wall and triggers the hang mechanic.
00:08:36This is the hang mechanic.
00:08:37When you grab onto a lower part of a ledge, the character enters ragdoll mode.
00:08:42And by waving the joystick around, you can flop around and come to terms with all of
00:08:45the progress you're about to lose when you let go.
00:08:49Unless, of course, your game mysteriously crashes.
00:08:55However, if you time your flop properly, the momentum will give you a tiny bit of an upward
00:09:00lift allowing you to recover from platforms.
00:09:07Now this mechanic is intentionally janky.
00:09:09Flopping the character is fairly unintuitive, making recovery more difficult.
00:09:16But with good practice, you can really get some decent height.
00:09:21Now you can tell Dan is still learning the mechanic since it's day one.
00:09:24But with the perfect bounce, he can just barely trigger the hang grab, use that fling to fling
00:09:29himself up, shaving off two full minutes of regular run, taking him straight into the
00:09:34final section.
00:09:35Now, if the beginning of the game was a difficulty of 1 and middle management was a 5, the final
00:09:40section is a 20.
00:09:43This is where we take the gloves off and where most new players spend anywhere from 50 to
00:09:4770% of their playtime.
00:09:49This section is truly difficult.
00:09:51Even our narrator, CDawgVA, who reached the final section in 3 and a half hours, which
00:09:55is fast, struggled with this section.
00:10:13And yes, we made a custom monkey skin just for him, and no, you won't be able to get
00:10:25it.
00:10:26Now, the section is comprised of three smaller rooms, and you have to jump between building
00:10:30to building to get to the next part.
00:10:32Every time you have to cross, you have to do so via this double half oval jump.
00:10:36And because there are three rooms, you have to do this jump three full times.
00:10:40And this jump is hard.
00:10:43After missing twice, Dan clutches up and rips through the rest of the levels with no mistakes
00:10:51and completes the game in an incredible time of 31 51, solidifying himself as the best
00:11:00speedrunner for the day one competition.
00:11:03That's solid.
00:11:04That's solid.
00:11:05Glitchless.
00:11:07Glitchless.
00:11:11Nah, I'm just kidding.
00:11:12Speedrunners are crazy.
00:11:13We're just getting started for day one.
00:11:15Dan didn't win?
00:11:16Dan did not win.
00:11:17Oh, I thought Dan won.
00:11:19Uh, motherfuck, Dan wasn't even close.
00:11:21Wow.
00:11:22You see, while Dan was grinding for a good time, there were a plethora of other runners
00:11:26exploring the game in-
00:11:28Okay, so it seems like you can climb corners.
00:11:31I clipped out of bounds.
00:11:33More creative ways.
00:11:34I've clipped out of bounds.
00:11:36One creative runner by the name of Cividit had sent us a run with a very interesting
00:11:40discovery.
00:11:41Now, the first part of his run isn't particularly interesting.
00:11:44In fact, he does no skips in the run and it takes him 16 minutes to get to the unpaid
00:11:48internship.
00:11:49And for context, Dan Corona was here in seven minutes.
00:11:52But in Cividit's submission form, he accidentally wrote that he got a time of 17 51, which makes
00:11:58no sense.
00:11:59Okay.
00:12:00I take that back.
00:12:01It makes perfect sense.
00:12:03Is there a patch notes yet?
00:12:04Who asked for patch notes, bitch?
00:12:08Uh, no, I don't think so.
00:12:12Holy, that's a shortcut.
00:12:14This is the jump pad ragdoll skip, and it's obviously pretty OP.
00:12:18Now, the rules of the competition had been pretty clear that something as broken as this
00:12:23wouldn't be allowed since it would ruin any skill in the game.
00:12:26And you can see that he messes up the skip a couple of times and even still manages to
00:12:31skip all the way to the top.
00:12:33Luckily, Cividit reached out very early on before he had committed to learning the skip,
00:12:38but I asked him to record a run with the skip anyway, because let's be real, this bug is
00:12:42hilarious.
00:12:43And very shortly after, other runners like SmallAnt found the jump pad bug.
00:12:48Okay.
00:12:49Whoa, we got it.
00:12:52Holy.
00:12:55By this point, it's getting late in the day and several runners have started to really
00:12:58start to grind the game, trying to beat DanCorona's time.
00:13:02AspectCore had discovered in his first playthrough that by grabbing onto certain physics-based
00:13:06items, it would, on rare occasion, cause the player's collider to freak out, launching
00:13:11them into the air.
00:13:12The plan is simple.
00:13:13Unfortunately, after an hour of trying to make it work, it ended up being too hard to
00:13:23reproduce.
00:13:24We also probably would have banned it, so sorry, AspectCore.
00:13:32But despite that being a flop, he discovered one of the most important skips of the day.
00:13:37This is the interview section, and I glossed over it because after the runners learned
00:13:41about this skip, no one ever runs it again.
00:13:44For normal players, you have to go through these ovals that become increasingly tighter
00:13:47and tighter until you reach the top, where you have to hit a final, incredibly tight
00:13:51oval to complete the unpaid intern section.
00:13:54But AspectCore discovers that as you're coming around the fourth floor, if you veer left,
00:13:58you can land on this recovery section.
00:14:04And with this skip, you're right at the top, taking you straight to the final, tight rope
00:14:08oval, saving you at least 30 seconds, if not more.
00:14:11And with that, AspectCore starts grinding the game.
00:14:15Now after three heartbreaking runs, all with promise to go sub-30, and all
00:14:24ending in the last two sections, AspectCore had to concede and let other runners like
00:14:31Frostkiller take the reigns, who submitted his run at 5am.
00:14:37Frostkiller introduced three major skips, plus a couple of minor ones that really pushed
00:14:41the run forward.
00:14:42Now, because of his low framerate, his submission is a little nauseating to watch, so I've recreated
00:14:47it at 60 frames per second and kept his times up in the top left.
00:14:51His first two sections were relatively standard, so we're going to skip straight to the warehouse,
00:14:55where he's a full minute ahead, just from clean execution, and pulls off the Warehouse
00:14:59Manager skip.
00:15:00By hitting the jump perfectly, you can get enough speed to land to the left, saving 20
00:15:05full seconds.
00:15:06Next, he heads to the unpaid intern section, and introduces one of his biggest skips in
00:15:11the run.
00:15:12After doing his first full loop, he uses this berm to skip up to the second floor, which
00:15:16gives him enough speed to jump all the way to the fourth floor, meaning instead of doing
00:15:20three laps like Dan had to do, he only has to do two laps.
00:15:25And now, he can use a spectacore skip to shave a full five minutes off of Dan Corona's time.
00:15:32That's wild.
00:15:33But Frostkiller isn't done.
00:15:35Midway through the cog section, Frostkiller is about to complete the first major part,
00:15:39which has you hitting a massive jump that takes you into the company winemixer.
00:15:43But instead, he flings with perfect precision to the right, and skips this big roundabout
00:15:48loop, saving him 15 seconds as he proceeds into the bumpers, where he is the first runner
00:15:54to successfully complete my pro gamers only route.
00:15:58Since the falls in the bumpers are so punishing, we thought it'd be kind of cheeky to add a
00:16:02much faster, but more difficult route.
00:16:04And most people who try it end up regretting it.
00:16:13But he pulls it off flawlessly on day one, which is insane, and allows him to move on
00:16:18to middle management well ahead of Dan, where he introduces his final skip.
00:16:23In the pyramid section, the normal route is incredibly windy, and one particular curve
00:16:27right here is an absolute run killer.
00:16:35But instead of going right and winding all the way through the pyramid, well, it turns
00:16:38out, with the right angle and speed, you can just go left.
00:16:43Now Dan also used this skip, but to my knowledge, either Frostkiller or SmallAnt found the skip,
00:16:48so I just included it in this run.
00:16:49But you can see just how big of a skip this is.
00:16:53And with no other new innovations up his sleeve, all he has to do is execute.
00:16:57And despite having a slower department head and vice president, Frostkiller crushes Dan
00:17:01Corona's time with a 23.48, shaving off 8 minutes and 3 seconds.
00:17:08And if you look at a breakdown of the two runs, you can see how big of a time save these
00:17:12skips had on the run, and they found them on the first day.
00:17:16It's so impressive.
00:17:17And what's so crazy is if you look at the achievements of the game, we created a secret
00:17:21achievement for players who beat the game in under 30 minutes, thinking that players
00:17:25maybe one day would break sub 30.
00:17:28And in the first day, Frostkiller went sub 25.
00:17:34But what's even more mind blowing is the fact that Frostkiller didn't win.
00:17:38Aha!
00:17:39I did it again.
00:17:40These speedrunners are f***ing crazy.
00:17:41The winner of day one came out of nowhere and submitted a run with an hour left.
00:17:45What's so interesting is that for most of his run, Kareem doesn't innovate from Frostkiller
00:17:50at all.
00:17:54And definitely leaves some room for improvement in his execution.
00:18:05And in fact, doesn't know about three big skips that Frostkiller uses.
00:18:28But by having a nearly perfect run, Kareem is only 16 seconds behind Frostkiller when
00:18:38he enters the bumpers.
00:18:53Now, it turns out Frostkiller also used that massive skip.
00:19:17And so heading into middle management, Kareem is still 15 seconds behind.
00:19:22And unfortunately blunders his run.
00:19:45This skip is huge and saves Kareem from having to loop all the way around to go up a floor.
00:19:50And now the route is much simpler and Kareem is only 16 seconds behind.
00:19:55And because he isn't making any mistakes, by the time he enters the giant slope, he
00:19:59has completely caughten up to Frostkiller.
00:20:04Now during the day, SmallAnt had made a huge discovery in the giant slope section.
00:20:09Don't go into the corner in the building.
00:20:10You come in sharper, you start higher on the second jump.
00:20:13What do you mean?
00:20:14Come in from like this angle, you mean?
00:20:26I'm giving you a sub.
00:20:27And both Kareem and Frostkiller used this strategy, but Frostkiller goes left and Kareem
00:20:32does not.
00:20:33As you can see, the skip lets them avoid doing all of this, which is huge.
00:20:37But when Frostkiller goes left, he's actually backtracking and now has diminished the impact
00:20:43of his initial skip because he has to turn around and continue on the normal route.
00:20:48Kareem, on the other hand, uses the little bump to get onto the ramp.
00:20:57And now Kareem has skipped having to do both this and this.
00:21:01And without having to do any backtracking, Kareem is now 15 seconds ahead.
00:21:07But he has one more trick up his sleeve.
00:21:10The last part of the giant slope section has you hitting these massive slope jumps.
00:21:14And despite being wide, you actually have to follow the black lines pretty precisely
00:21:18to complete this section.
00:21:19But Kareem ignores the black lines and hits a different route.
00:21:23We don't do that unless this is related to...
00:21:28You did it.
00:21:31You pulled off the Doinkla Portoli, you crazy son of a...
00:21:35You did it.
00:21:36Okay.
00:21:37This is the biggest skip of the entire day because the normal route has you going through
00:21:40the inside of the building along this incredibly slow tightrope section that you can't speed
00:21:45through.
00:21:46This platform is just too tight.
00:21:47And if you screw up, the run's dead.
00:21:49It happened to a Spectacore.
00:21:51And now Kareem is 50 seconds ahead of Frostkiller as he heads into the final section where he's
00:21:56the first to find any skip, albeit small, in this final section.
00:22:00Now the first two rooms are completely standard, but again, nearly perfect execution.
00:22:05This guy isn't missing anything.
00:22:06Of course he gets it.
00:22:08And then he introduces his final skip.
00:22:10It's the first one.
00:22:11Oh, he skips three.
00:22:12It's the fourth one.
00:22:13Wow.
00:22:14Wow.
00:22:15Okay, that one's crazy.
00:22:16That is crazy.
00:22:17Oh, that is...
00:22:18That's risky.
00:22:19Jesus.
00:22:20That would make me so nervous this far into the run.
00:22:21Yeah.
00:22:22That is huge.
00:22:23That was so clean.
00:22:24Holy...
00:22:25And completes the run, winning the day one competition with a monstrous time of 2046.
00:22:36Three minutes faster than Frostkiller and 11 minutes faster than Dan Corona.
00:22:43With the first leg complete, we entered the second leg of the competition that this time
00:22:47lasted two days instead of one.
00:22:50And so began the quest to go sub 20.
00:22:53And for the first day, no competitive times were submitted until at 3am, Dan Corona submitted
00:22:58a new run with a ton of new strats.
00:23:01You see, during the day, we had noticed there were two groups forming.
00:23:04Those that were very interested in discovering strats, bugs, and wild skips, and the grinders
00:23:08who were interested at getting really good at the game.
00:23:11Dan Corona started calling the strat finders the scientists, which I quite like, so I'm
00:23:15going to use it.
00:23:16And in our discord, they were hard at work cooking up new tech in the lab and sharing
00:23:20their results.
00:23:21Dan had taken all of those findings and was trying all night to combine them into one
00:23:25cohesive run.
00:23:26Dan had three major skips and two minor ones, but couldn't string them together.
00:23:30And coming off of a devastating run that was ruined by a very rare bug where you fall
00:23:35off the slingshots, which is now fixed, Dan's mental was at an all time low.
00:23:39I'm 1630 in the second to last area of the game, and I get stuck.
00:23:43And since he had to work in the morning, this was his last run of the night.
00:23:49Last one.
00:23:50The first part of his run is very standard, so we're actually going to start in the warehouse
00:23:54because during the day, no one cooked harder on strats than SmallAnt.
00:23:59He was the first to discover that I had placed a very sneaky slingshot here.
00:24:03It seems like landing here, going here, going in this, then landing directly on this.
00:24:11Nice.
00:24:13That's so clean.
00:24:14That's so cool.
00:24:15Now, because it was OP, my intention was for it to be hard to get to.
00:24:19You had to hit this horizontal slingshot, dive through the upper hole into a jump, down
00:24:24this giant tube that shoots you out, land on this tiny section of the ramp and pop up
00:24:30and voila, you can use the slingshot to rocket you up.
00:24:35And runners like Aspecticore were trying to learn this route, but weren't having much
00:24:39luck.
00:24:40What am I doing here?
00:24:41I don't belong here.
00:24:44Oh, mother.
00:24:46Fortunately, SmallAnt discovers that you don't need to do the hard part.
00:24:49If you veer off from the intended route, you can ride the wall to access the slingshot.
00:24:54Now, it's not as fast as the route I had in mind for the runners, but it still saves Dan
00:24:58a ton of time.
00:25:01Moving up to the unpaid intern section, Dan makes a minor improvement to the interview
00:25:05skip where if you hit it perfectly, you can skip up avoiding going lower.
00:25:09Now it's a minor skip, but this will come into play later on.
00:25:12So I wanted to point it out.
00:25:14Now this is not a perfect run and Dan makes some pretty big mistakes.
00:25:18So there's some real room for improvement, but the skips he introduces in the last section
00:25:22are so big that he can afford to.
00:25:25In fact, after ripping through middle management, Dan is actually 14 seconds behind Karim's
00:25:29original run.
00:25:31But again, because SmallAnt and the other scientists were cooking so hard during the
00:25:35day, Dan is armed with some new strats and hits this gray section bumping left.
00:25:41Now I think now's a good time to explain the final section of the game.
00:25:44This is the first part, the department head section.
00:25:47And to start, you hit these jump pads in a massive loop, but by hitting the gray rail,
00:25:52you can just skip all of it.
00:25:55The rest of the department head section combines everything the players have learned throughout
00:25:59the rest of the game.
00:26:00You have jump pads, winding and precise jumps that are chained together, and the slanted
00:26:04ramps from middle management.
00:26:06It's windy, it's so punishing, and it's slow.
00:26:09And up until now, it's lacking any major skips.
00:26:12But during the day, speedrunner Hikaze shared a new strat with Dan.
00:26:17Go up this wall, get into this crack, and you just ride along it.
00:26:22Boom.
00:26:23Saves you three or four seconds if you go full speed.
00:26:27And now the tables have turned and Dan is 14 seconds ahead of Karim.
00:26:31I'm like a monorail bitch.
00:26:34But Dan has one final trick up his sleeve.
00:26:37This is Karim's original route.
00:26:38He hits every jump pad and follows the normal route.
00:26:42But Dan skips the jump pads, rides the corner, and instead of going straight, he hooks right.
00:26:52And now the route looks like this.
00:26:55Now I'm not sure who found it first, because earlier in the day, SmallAnt had found an
00:26:59even more optimized version where you just use the jump pads, saving even more time.
00:27:04That's what we need to learn how to do, baby.
00:27:06But Dan seems to create his own variation, so they probably discovered it each on their
00:27:10own.
00:27:12With that, Dan clutches up with his last run of the night and gets a world record.
00:27:16It's not sub 20, but it's world record still, boys!
00:27:21Let's f***ing go!
00:27:24And with a 20-23, the quest to break sub 20 inches closer.
00:27:31Dan continues to hold the world record for nearly 24 hours until Frostkiller submits
00:27:36a new run with one minor skip and two massive skips.
00:27:41The run starts off pretty standard until he reaches the warehouse.
00:27:44And again, I had to recreate his run since the low framerate is pretty hard on the eyes.
00:27:48Now Frostkiller has learned about my secret slingshot, and despite not going for my intended
00:27:53route, he's found a minor adaptation where he hooks right, skipping a ton of extra route.
00:27:59Again, a minor change, but once we move into the junior financial analyst section, he pulls
00:28:04off the infamous wine mixer skip.
00:28:07First discovered by speedrunner Sheikens, after you launch off the last cog, you have
00:28:11to land this massive gap and run right to continue your path.
00:28:16But if you time it perfectly and ride the wall all the way up, you can actually land
00:28:21at this high point.
00:28:22And to illustrate how big of a time save this is, you can see that by doing the wine mixer
00:28:26skip, you eliminate having to do all of this, which shaves off nearly a full minute from
00:28:32Dan's run.
00:28:33Now, beyond this, his run is pretty standard.
00:28:35But because of the wine mixer skip, and by only making a couple of mistakes, by the time
00:28:40he enters the department head section, he's two full minutes ahead of Dan.
00:28:45And then, while crossing the gap into the final section, Frostkiller misses the jump
00:28:50and lands in the recovery section.
00:28:55You see, because this jump is so hard, I created a bit of a recovery.
00:28:58So if you mess up, one, you don't fall all the way back down to the bottom, but two,
00:29:05this little jump will launch you all the way back to the half oval jump, where you can
00:29:08try one more time.
00:29:10And most people do manage to get across their second try.
00:29:17But Frostkiller actually doesn't mess up and has a different plan.
00:29:21He drops down and with perfect precision, hits this recovery jump pad and skips all
00:29:27the way up.
00:29:29Now, when you see it done, it seems so OP and so easy.
00:29:34But when I was building it, it wasn't obvious at all and really only works at this very
00:29:38specific angle and speed.
00:29:41Speedrunners, am I right?
00:29:42Now, this skip, which was first discovered by Eula Crevette, is actually two seconds
00:29:46slower than Dan's route, but it's the catalyst to something much bigger later on in the competition.
00:29:51So I had to show it.
00:29:52And with that, Frostkiller shatters the sub-20 barrier with a time of 18.29.
00:30:00For the next 12 hours, the competition is unsuccessful in dethroning Frostkiller's
00:30:04time.
00:30:05And with 12 hours left, most of the hardcore grinders had started to focus on the last
00:30:08leg of the competition, which unlike legs one and two, was glitchless.
00:30:13And with two hours left in the competition, a new runner who was also focused on glitchless
00:30:18submits a new run.
00:30:19This is Elving, who submitted a run with only a couple of minor tweaks to Frostkiller's,
00:30:24but just really improves on the execution.
00:30:27He's the first person to successfully chain these pendulums together.
00:30:30Now, it's not that big of a time save, but it's so hard to do during development, I could
00:30:34never do it.
00:30:35So I wanted to highlight it.
00:30:36I think it's really cool.
00:30:38And Elving is finally the first person to use my warehouse skip, which if you can't
00:30:42tell, I'm kind of happy about because I put in a lot of work to create it.
00:30:46And to top it off, his execution is basically flawless.
00:30:49I mean, he is hitting every jump perfectly, getting the perfect amount of height.
00:30:53It's pretty impressive.
00:30:54And that puts him 10 seconds ahead of Frostkiller.
00:30:59Again in middle management, a minor tweak to the route, where he uses a new small ant
00:31:04strat.
00:31:05Okay.
00:31:06Grab.
00:31:07Hold left.
00:31:08Up, up, up, up, up, up, up, good, good, good, all right.
00:31:12Over on the giant slope, he uses another small ant skip that saves a ton of back and forth.
00:31:19This is Frostkiller's route.
00:31:21And like I said, it's a big old back and forth, and this ledge is too high for players
00:31:25to get up.
00:31:26So you have to go around, unless of course you hit it perfectly like Elving does.
00:31:30And it does have a bit of backtracking, but it is a lot faster.
00:31:34And with no other skips, he closes out his run with a beautiful 18.17, shaving off 12
00:31:40seconds from Frostkiller's time to take first place in the second leg with a glitchless
00:31:44run no less.
00:31:45Now going glitchless in a leg that allowed glitches surprised me.
00:31:49I thought glitches would play a big role, but between runners being hyper-focused on
00:31:53the final leg, which was worth the most money, and with the glitches that were being found
00:31:57not making that big of a difference in time, it turned out to not be the case.
00:32:06Until 30 minutes before the deadline, Kerem submitted another run.
00:32:10And I hope you're ready to buckle up because this mother****er did it again with six major
00:32:15innovations.
00:32:16Now I just wanted to start by playing a tiny bit of his run throughout the parkade.
00:32:20I've really glossed over the parkade because to be honest, there haven't been any crazy
00:32:24skips, but it's just kind of satisfying to see someone run the optimal route.
00:32:28And admittedly, it's quite easy to learn this part of the run.
00:32:31Pretty much every runner is doing this no problem, which means if you're interested
00:32:34in speedrunning the game, I'm just saying, this part is doable and the game is available
00:32:38on Steam and Xbox.
00:32:40Anyway, Kerem continues to hit the perfect route and like other runs in leg 2, only really
00:32:45starts to innovate in the warehouse, where he introduces probably the most famous and
00:32:50most impactful skip of the entire competition.
00:32:52I've seen a ton of innovations.
00:32:54Someone found my slingshot, which is really exciting.
00:32:56So I think there's...
00:32:57What the **** was that?
00:32:58Wait, go back.
00:32:59Is he like wiggling his controllers?
00:33:00What is he doing?
00:33:01Okay.
00:33:02He just gets like a ton of vertical air.
00:33:03That's cool.
00:33:04Nice job, Koe.
00:33:05Do you know how long we've tested the slingshot for?
00:33:24This whole game is broken.
00:33:28Don't do it again.
00:33:29Don't do it again.
00:33:30There's no way.
00:33:33He just skipped the entire level.
00:33:37He just skipped the entire level.
00:33:38I don't understand.
00:33:39Well, this speedrun's going to end up being 30 seconds.
00:33:44Given how important this skip is, I think it's worth explaining what's happening.
00:33:47First discovered on day one by runner HelloS and then refined by BigWilly that same day,
00:33:52it turns out that if you grab onto the very top of the slingshot, it produces some unexpected
00:33:57results.
00:34:00Wait a second.
00:34:01I think you're onto something.
00:34:02So many days after the speedrun competition, we finally figured out what is actually happening.
00:34:07Here's what the physics system sees.
00:34:08These are the slingshot's colliders.
00:34:10In the normal case, the player grabs onto the slingshot and on release, we apply a fixed
00:34:14velocity to the player.
00:34:16This is so they always launch in the same direction and at the same speed.
00:34:19It makes the slingshots more dependable and more fun.
00:34:23But if you were a sneaky speedrunner and roll up the slingshot and grab the top, the slingshot
00:34:28and the player's collider will get out of sync and the player can end up here.
00:34:32Why that happens?
00:34:33It's complicated.
00:34:34So we're just going to skip the explanation.
00:34:36But when they do get out of sync, the physics system goes, wait a second, you're not supposed
00:34:40to be inside of the slingshot.
00:34:41I better try to push you out.
00:34:43But at the exact same time, our slingshot system goes, time to apply the velocity to
00:34:48you good sir and send you on your way.
00:34:50And the two get added together, giving you this.
00:34:54So not only does Karem get shot straight up, but he has found a way to get more velocity
00:34:59from the slingshots than we had ever intended.
00:35:02It's insane.
00:35:03And because of that, he clears the entire warehouse in one minute and 30 seconds, which
00:35:07is 30 seconds faster than Elving.
00:35:10He continues to run a clean unpaid intern and junior financial analyst.
00:35:14And by the time he gets to middle management, he has continued to hold a 30 second lead.
00:35:19But everything in middle management and beyond is where Karem truly shines.
00:35:23Regular standard stuff.
00:35:26And then now he's like, this is normally a recovery route.
00:35:29Like, I don't know, I don't know what he's doing.
00:35:35This is recovery, like the slingshot, he's going to break your, Oh, of course.
00:35:46Now other runners like Frostkiller knew about the top grab, but it's tricky.
00:35:50And even he couldn't pull it off and had to resort to a different route.
00:35:53But Karem's execution is top notch and lands him three levels higher.
00:35:58And you don't need to top grab to do this skip.
00:36:00You can do it pretty much every time by using the slingshot normally, but Karem is just
00:36:04flexing on the haters as he prepares to move into the giant slope where he has another
00:36:09huge trick up his sleeve.
00:36:11I mean, he just skipped all of middle management.
00:36:13He skipped like the whole damn thing.
00:36:17Oh, no.
00:36:24By hitting this lower ledge, he carries the momentum from the slingshot to ride up the
00:36:28slope.
00:36:29And if you look at the normal middle management route and compare it to Karem's, it's so nasty.
00:36:34I mean, just look at how windy the original is, and he just skips it all.
00:36:38And normally, this path forces you into this exit point where you just can't generate enough
00:36:44speed.
00:36:45But this skip lets him carry so much momentum, he can just ride straight up, even compared
00:36:49to the other runners who have to backtrack.
00:36:51It's just such a big time save.
00:36:54At the top of the giant slope, he, of course, pulls off his signature skip.
00:36:58Come to see how the greats do it.
00:36:59Genuinely, though, like, look at this.
00:37:01Look at this gameplay.
00:37:02And then by using the wall bump skip, he enters the department head section a full minute
00:37:07and a half ahead of Elvin and doesn't waste any time introducing a new skip.
00:37:11Now, I'm worried there's another slingshot.
00:37:14I don't.
00:37:17Where are you going?
00:37:21That's so much height.
00:37:23Wait, why is he pausing?
00:37:24I don't know. Why is he?
00:37:26You see, Karem has paused the game to open up a metronome that is playing at exactly
00:37:32215 beats per minute and then proceeds to climb.
00:37:37This is this is straight up the wall.
00:37:40This is a bad Lucas, though.
00:37:41We're cooked.
00:37:45And if you're wondering if you can just climb up every single wall in the game, you
00:37:49cannot. This is just the magic of speed runners.
00:37:53Let me explain.
00:37:54This is Small Ant.
00:37:55He's a speed run focused streamer who picked up the game on day one.
00:37:58And on his first playthrough, he discovered that some walls are climbable.
00:38:02What if we just like Spider-Man over there?
00:38:03And before even beating the game, he climbed.
00:38:06Come on. And he climbed and he climbed.
00:38:12And to beat the punishing final level, you must jump back and forth between two very
00:38:17tall buildings. Unless, of course, you just climb the whole thing.
00:38:21What are you doing?
00:38:24What is he mashing his way up the building?
00:38:27He's been like this for 10 minutes.
00:38:29Where is he even in the context of the level?
00:38:31Their CEO.
00:38:35This is the grab mechanic, and there's three major pieces to understanding how he's
00:38:39breaking the game the way that he is.
00:38:42The grab acts as a braking system for the players to slow down.
00:38:45When you're going really fast on flat ground, you slide a bit and then stop.
00:38:49It's incredibly helpful on tight platforms and giving the players more control over
00:38:53your very slippery character.
00:38:55And when you're on steep slopes and vertical walls, the player can grab and slow
00:38:59themselves down. No, no.
00:39:02This lets them evaluate where to fall to, which, again, makes the game a little less
00:39:06punishing, because let's be real, it's a pretty punishing game.
00:39:10Lastly, we added what we call the release boost, which gives the player a tiny boost
00:39:14of speed right after they release the grab.
00:39:17During development, players kept slipping off the edge and getting really frustrated
00:39:20because it felt like they should be able to scooch over the edge.
00:39:23You see, behind the scenes, the player is actually a giant ball.
00:39:27This is what the system sees, a big old ball rolling around.
00:39:30The player model doesn't affect gameplay at all.
00:39:32So when the ball approaches a ledge, you can see that this point of no recovery
00:39:36visually makes sense.
00:39:38Your brain goes, of course the ball would slip off the edge, but the model looks like
00:39:44it should be able to recover.
00:39:46And video games are all about what feels right.
00:39:49So we created a mechanic called the release boost.
00:39:52When you release the grab, we increase the friction on the ball for a quarter of a
00:39:56second. And when you're on the edge or on a wall, that extra friction helps the ball
00:40:00just squeak over the edge.
00:40:02Unless, of course, you furiously spam the grab, which essentially gives the ball a
00:40:06permanent friction boost.
00:40:08He's a gamer. Now, we knew about this, so we tagged every piece of geometry in the
00:40:14game as either slippery or non-slippery.
00:40:16Slippery geometry, which you can see is on the walls and vertical objects, stops the
00:40:20system from applying the extra friction.
00:40:23So you can't spam the grab button and climb all over the place.
00:40:26The system is foolproof.
00:40:28You cannot cheat the system unless the level designer, a.k.a.
00:40:32me, forgets to add the correct tags to a handful of geometry and a particularly
00:40:37motivated speedrun streamer tests every piece of geometry in the entire game on day
00:40:42one. Now, when that happens, well, it turns out the entire final section of the game can
00:40:48be skipped. However, wall climbing is incredibly inconsistent.
00:40:52That's why SmallAnt spent 10 minutes just climbing the last wall, and none of the
00:40:56other runners like Dan could figure out how to make it consistent until one of the
00:41:00scientists posted a video of him climbing.
00:41:04Cividit asks why there's a random clicking noise in the background in which he
00:41:09casually responds, metronome, because apparently if you repeatedly tap the grab key
00:41:14at 215 beats per minute, you can consistently wall climb, which also means he
00:41:20probably tried so many different BPMs to make this work, which is insane.
00:41:24Impressive? Probably both.
00:41:26And Kerem has discovered one additional thing.
00:41:29Apparently, if you increase your frames per second, you can climb faster, which is why
00:41:33his frames go from 60 to unlimited.
00:41:36But Kerem, armed with top grabs and a metronome, skips the entire department head
00:41:41section and is the first person to finally find a skip in the second last room.
00:41:47Top grab.
00:41:48Top grab skip.
00:41:49Oh, risky one.
00:41:53Oh, oh, he's doing another top grab.
00:41:55Another top grab.
00:41:57Straight up.
00:41:59Wow.
00:41:59Lands on here.
00:42:00There's enough speed on this.
00:42:03Oh, he has to flip.
00:42:05Oh my God.
00:42:08Just to barely do it.
00:42:10Wow.
00:42:11I was like, I don't think there's enough speed on that one.
00:42:13Yeah, that's funny.
00:42:14Again, another massive time save that carries him through to the end of the run
00:42:19with a staggering 1450, nearly two and a half minutes faster than Elving, earning
00:42:24him first place in both leg one and leg two.
00:42:30And with that, it was time to move on to the final leg of the competition.
00:42:33The glitchless run.
00:42:36With six days to grind and the biggest prize pool, everyone was focused on
00:42:40winning this leg of the race.
00:42:41And because it was glitchless, Kerem's winning run wasn't valid for this leg,
00:42:45setting the world record back to 1817, which also reopened the quest to go sub
00:42:5015, but it wasn't long before that was broken because SmallAnt had been grinding.
00:42:56Now, while SmallAnt rips through the parkade, I wanted to explain the
00:42:59rules of the final leg.
00:43:01You can't clip out of bounds.
00:43:02Wall climbing is allowed since it's an intended feature, but we patched the
00:43:06really important walls to not be climbable, like the end section.
00:43:08And our whole team met and decided that top grabs should be kept in permanently
00:43:12as a feature, not a bug, since they're so cool.
00:43:16And because of those rules, most of SmallAnt's run is pretty much the same
00:43:19as Kerem's, except for the final section, because we patched out the wall climb.
00:43:23This means that runners have to start from scratch and re-event
00:43:27how to run this final section.
00:43:29Now, the top grab you're seeing here looks big, but it turns out to be a very
00:43:33minor skip that really only saves a couple of seconds, because without the
00:43:37wall climb, they're forced to drop down to the main entrance.
00:43:40And if you remember, this section is slow and tedious.
00:43:43And yes, there are some minor skips like veering left at this jump pad and
00:43:47believe it or not, SmallAnt bungles up this skip and now he has to do the full
00:43:51route. So without the wall climb, the runners are at a massive disadvantage
00:43:54that I...
00:43:56That's better.
00:43:57I think we'll make sub 15 impossible.
00:44:01This skip, first found by Discord user Anton, lets you essentially skip the
00:44:04entire department head section.
00:44:06And it seems pretty simple, but it's actually pretty tricky and
00:44:09the skip is quite elegant.
00:44:11So let me explain.
00:44:11The way the jump pad normally works is when you enter this red zone, the jump
00:44:15pad will apply an upward force to the player.
00:44:17So if you come in from a normal angle, the player's velocity will look like
00:44:20this and adding the jump pads velocity to the player results in this, and
00:44:25they happily bounce away.
00:44:27But if you were to collide with the lower section, well, most of the
00:44:30time you splat against the wall.
00:44:33But if you can hit the wall just under the speed threshold that doesn't
00:44:37cause you to splat, you'll bounce up.
00:44:39And if your collider is even a fraction within the jump pads collider, it
00:44:43will trigger the bounce, which by the way, isn't easy to do.
00:44:47But if you pull it off, the player's velocity is now pointing up.
00:44:51And so the resulting velocity is also up.
00:44:54And after a clean VP section, SmallAnt is the first to use the Lord Mouse skip.
00:44:59Lord Mouse had been actively submitting runs, but other runners had been so
00:45:02cracked that I haven't had a chance to show him.
00:45:04Skipped quite a bit, but all credit goes to him for finding this one.
00:45:11And not only is the normal route slow and windy, but it's also hard to
00:45:16But it's also hard.
00:45:17So by hitting the jump pad, you could just skip that hard section.
00:45:21And with just those two new skips alone, SmallAnt manages to claim a new world
00:45:26record at 1643.
00:45:28I never saw a 17 or an 18 and I never will.
00:45:33Two quick ones.
00:45:36But only several hours after, Dan Corona strikes back with only a very minor
00:45:40optimization in the parkade, and then transitions that into a pendulum skip.
00:45:46Oh, I could have sent it there.
00:45:49And takes the world record back with a 1629.
00:45:54By day five, the quest to go sub 15 continues as runners NotEdge introduces a
00:45:59minor skip in middle management where he top grabs to get a little more height and
00:46:03with good technique, runs a 1543, shaving 45 seconds off of Dan Corona.
00:46:09But at the exact same time that NotEdge takes the world record, Dan Corona was
00:46:13grinding the game and was having, oh my God, I'm such a f***ing idiot, a tough
00:46:19day. With fall, after fall, after fall, he wraps up the day with the exact same
00:46:25time as NotEdge with a 1543.
00:46:28But unfortunately, it didn't matter because SmallAnt had the better execution of
00:46:32the day. And with only one tiny tweak, where the runners learned that riding
00:46:36around the curve in middle management was actually faster, and with good
00:46:39execution, SmallAnt is the first to go sub 15.
00:46:441459, that's the sub 15, baby.
00:46:49But the battle between Dan and SmallAnt wasn't over.
00:46:53And Dan decides that the only way to win is to think outside the box.
00:46:57I need to lock in. We got to think of other ways.
00:46:59How do we lock in and become world record holder?
00:47:02There's only one answer.
00:47:10Now we're ready to get world record, chat.
00:47:13Now we're ready.
00:47:15And with added aerodynamics, he shaves off nine seconds to set a new world record of
00:47:191450.
00:47:21Go baby, let's go!
00:47:24But despite this being a world record, Dan has made some mistakes in the final
00:47:28section, leaving some room for improvement.
00:47:31And Kerem capitalizes on that.
00:47:33And despite not introducing any new skips, submits a 1358, shaving off 14 seconds
00:47:39just from pure execution alone.
00:47:41And now there's almost no room for improvement until new skips are found.
00:47:49But I said almost no room for improvement, and Dan Corona comes back with a
00:47:54vengeance, with a generational run devoid of any major mistakes, except for that
00:48:03one. And unfortunately, it's the end of the weekend and the start of the work
00:48:07week, which means Dan is done grinding.
00:48:09But more importantly, by day seven, Kerem has found some new tech.
00:48:13Now, for the sake of suspense and for brevity, I'm going to show where the skips
00:48:17are, but reveal them in the final winning run.
00:48:19But what's so interesting about this submission is for the very first time,
00:48:23someone has found innovations in the first two sections.
00:48:25What they are, you'll have to wait and see.
00:48:27But they're big enough that Kerem secures a new world record of 1236.
00:48:34Tons of runners were trying to catch up, but just couldn't.
00:48:37Aspecticore PB'd with a 1520, Ihimaita with a 1505, Frostkiller ran a 1322, and
00:48:43Bronzeblaze ran an impressive 1308.
00:48:47But again, not enough.
00:48:50Until day eight, where a brand new runner emerged.
00:48:53This is Lance, the former OnlyUp world record holder who had learned about the
00:48:57game only a couple of days prior and had been grinding offline.
00:49:01Even though he didn't submit this run, word had gotten out that he had
00:49:04beaten the world record.
00:49:05So I reached out and got a hold of the footage and verified that it was in fact
00:49:09true, because Lance and NotEdge had figured out a massive skip in the last section.
00:49:14But with the skip being held secret, Lance's time of 1212 was the first run
00:49:18to truly put Kerem in the hot seat.
00:49:21And for all of day nine, Kerem and the other runners were unsuccessful
00:49:25in dethroning Lance's time.
00:49:26And on the final day, day 10, Lance's time remained untouched.
00:49:31And with 12 hours left, no response from Kerem.
00:49:3410 hours, no response.
00:49:36Eight hours, no response.
00:49:37But with only six hours left, Kerem submits an 1146.
00:49:44With three massive skips and three minor skips, the innovations
00:49:47are starting to pile up.
00:49:49That whole night, Lance had been grinding to beat his time.
00:49:52And with only five hours left, Lance PBs with an 1155, nine seconds short of Kerem,
00:49:58and then concedes, revealing his strats to the rest of the competition,
00:50:02leaving Kerem victorious.
00:50:04With four hours left, Bronze Blaze goes 1226, but again, not enough.
00:50:08And with three hours left, a runner by the name of Space Hunter comes out of nowhere
00:50:12and submits an 1141, shaving off five seconds of a time that took Kerem all week to get.
00:50:19And when I say come out of nowhere, I mean they didn't submit any runs prior,
00:50:23and their only message in the Discord was a link to the run and their time.
00:50:28And now there's not enough time to respond, and the clock continues to run down.
00:50:32With two hours left, Kerem cannot beat the time, and the clock continues to run down.
00:50:37And with an hour left, Kerem can't beat the time.
00:50:41And now that it's over, a ton of other runners are starting to submit their best times.
00:50:46And I want to highlight the ones that went sub 15, especially
00:50:49Brandwagon with a huge 12 minute.
00:50:51And of course, Kerem with a, wait, an 1140?
00:50:56Submitted with 50 minutes left, he manages to go one second faster.
00:51:01One! Talk about clutch.
00:51:04Now, before I show the winning run, I just want to thank everyone who ran the game,
00:51:08and to everyone who submitted, especially to our winner.
00:51:14That's right, baby, it's not over.
00:51:16The winning time was ran live with 20 minutes left by the only runner
00:51:21who had any chance of beating Kerem himself.
00:51:25That's right, in the very last hour, Kerem goes 1140 and then shaves off
00:51:29another 12 seconds to guarantee his win.
00:51:32For the sake of entertainment, I'm actually going to show off Kerem's 957
00:51:36that he runs a week later, since it's exactly the same,
00:51:39but with two more massive skips.
00:51:42Enjoy.
00:51:43OK, I don't feel like there's too many shortcuts in this game.
00:51:48I guess at the...
00:51:49Oh my god, this is going to be so satisfying now.
00:51:53What the heck was that? Huh?
00:51:55That was a little skipper he took.
00:51:58What the heck was that? Huh?
00:52:05I'm sorry, what the fuck?
00:52:06Wait, wait, wait.
00:52:08What the fuck did he just do?
00:52:09I saw these, but then I forgot about them.
00:52:15Out of the first 30 seconds.
00:52:17Why are there bouncy pads there?
00:52:19Ride the wall.
00:52:20Ui, alter, diese komplette Sektion geskippt.
00:52:22Holy shit.
00:52:23Why are there bouncy pads?
00:52:24Is that literally a death path?
00:52:28What just happened?
00:52:34Hits these without stopping?
00:52:35No, no way.
00:52:39Oh my god, that was fast.
00:52:42Good RNG, good RNG.
00:52:46Oh, terrible RNG.
00:52:49He almost quit.
00:52:50Did he consider quitting there? What was that?
00:52:52Bro, he almost quit because he got bad RNG.
00:52:54I'm glad he kept fighting.
00:52:56No, that's not the start.
00:52:58That's a different one.
00:52:59Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember that.
00:53:01It's a fake start.
00:53:02Oh, this part.
00:53:03I remember this part.
00:53:04I was so frustrated.
00:53:06Yeah.
00:53:07You want to lead where your next jump is.
00:53:09He's going to lead right again.
00:53:10Yeah.
00:53:11Okay, damn.
00:53:12Okay.
00:53:13Shit, I was unfamiliar with your game.
00:53:14Hits this, tight corner, hits this.
00:53:16Yeah.
00:53:17Yeah.
00:53:18Yeah.
00:53:19Yeah.
00:53:20Yeah.
00:53:21Yeah.
00:53:22Yeah.
00:53:23It's tight corner hits this.
00:53:25Broski.
00:53:26You can do that?
00:53:30Another FPS change.
00:53:32I wonder why you have to change?
00:53:33I mean I guess you don't lose time.
00:53:37On the underside of the bounce pad?
00:53:39Oh my god.
00:53:40Was?
00:53:43Wait, there's nothing in there.
00:53:44What would you...
00:53:49Bro!
00:53:50Halz maul.
00:53:51Holy shit.
00:53:52Yeah, I would have done that too.
00:53:53What the fuck was this jump?
00:53:57What the fuck is going on
00:53:59He's lowering the FPS. What does that do? They're like super charge you off or something plays like wait skips the thing. Oh
00:54:07Oh my god, you can do that. He makes sense gravitationally
00:54:16Yeah, the pauses are I'm switching his frame rate so I think the top grabs are easier
00:54:23Nice guy should I should do that. What are you doing? What is he doing? What is he doing?
00:54:29What the fuck is what the fuck?
00:54:38But that's so sick, all right, what about this room
00:54:43This is basic for a CEO, okay
00:54:46Oh nice
00:54:50I was so frustrated this part. I think there was only one crazy skip. Otherwise, the execution is just good further bounce. Oh
00:54:58Is it only work on the bouncing the jump pads?
00:55:06Okay, what does he do here is anything different okay, so this one you skip to floor four
00:55:10I probably do this a similar skip to this guy. Oh, just nice little corner
00:55:14Nice corner there. It's this it's the middle. It's the bottom. I guess they go from second floor to fourth. Oh, oh
00:55:22Very nice. Okay. Yeah, that's a neat little skip
00:55:26What?
00:55:28Eat it a little more optimally, I guess
00:55:31He's gonna do the rest of like a peasant. Yeah, every jump is very smooth. Yeah a
00:55:36Little
00:55:39More shallow than many he's trying to get there faster, which makes a lot of sense
00:55:42not trying to get max height and then max height and then
00:55:47Yeah
00:55:51Cracked
00:55:52Doesn't have to go all the way over. Oh, that's crack. Hey cracks
00:55:56He is he does have like stitch hands. I feel like he's got extra pop
00:56:02I knew about that. But man, I tried I couldn't do it. You have to hit the exact right spot then bounce
00:56:09Okay, this is this there's no cheating the cogs
00:56:14Let's do here like angles his body hits the thing
00:56:18Never slows down doesn't do a full wheel turn
00:56:22That's here's all the super super super easy. Sorry. He must have their good and their schnell
00:56:28Cogs is cogs. People are calling it a squeak skip. That's probably not accurate, but
00:56:36And I guess they skip all the way up the wall here
00:56:39Oh, yeah. Oh my god the hot. Oh fuck. Yeah. Oh my god. He nailed it
00:56:45What the fuck?
00:56:47Bro, what the fuck?
00:56:50Whoa
00:56:54What the fuck okay, that's not for Victor skip
00:57:00Holy shit
00:57:03I'm just happy. I got the collectibles. It's
00:57:07Getting collectibles in these games is so painful because they all they tend to be like very risky to do
00:57:13Oh
00:57:17This section busted my balls this section is hard
00:57:37Do that
00:57:39Yeah, but he didn't get the hat chat so then you really beat the game it factually is
00:57:45Okay, I thought there might be a way to skip that. Oh
00:57:48He held on to the ledge to save a second. Okay. Yeah. Yeah skip it all. Yeah. Fuck it. Yeah, why not? Oh
00:57:55Wrong way. Oh, I know this trick. I can't do this. Definitely the wrong way. Do you like also long stuck?
00:58:01Bro, fuck how did you jump? What's that? You're marked marginally? Oh what?
00:58:09Yeah, what no, you can't do that. No, you just can't do that. Okay, he's gonna go to the left here, I think
00:58:19I thought what the fuck gets here turns around
00:58:26Yeah
00:58:28Yeah, I
00:58:30Went right, I think you're supposed to go right
00:58:33Okay, I'll leave okay
00:58:35Okay. Oh
00:58:37Digga hi small
00:58:40Hi small digga. Wow, that's gives a lot. What in the fuck am I watching?
00:58:46Are we playing the same game?
00:58:48It charges. What is he doing now? Oh, that's a fail
00:58:53Okay, some improvement to be had
00:58:56What is it? What is it doing?
00:58:58What?
00:59:01Wait, where are you going? Wait up there too. Oh damn. Oh my god
00:59:07Oh
00:59:09Just skip okay to go in the hole
00:59:14You don't have to go in the hole
00:59:17No, don't tell me you can skip this entire section. Oh my oh my oh my god
00:59:23That's some horse shit
00:59:26Dude, he's at the he's like in the ending rooms at 730
00:59:35Why is he changing the FPS
00:59:37Is that oh my god. No way
00:59:42No way
00:59:45Wait, why would you go down there? You could have done the other job. Oh, he saved himself to well. Oh
00:59:50No, he's gonna break the game, isn't he?
00:59:55No, no, you can't get up no
00:59:59No, and you don't even need to go on the ramp I'm a moron
01:00:04Hey, dude, this is crazy. What?
01:00:12That's easy, I do remember this place I spent most of my playthrough was this place
01:00:22Okay this section I kind of I feel like I'm low-key world record sis pace, okay, where you going no way
01:00:28Bro, he's cheating
01:00:30Oh
01:00:44Okay, what'd you hear you're not gonna make that
01:00:47No, what was he gonna do with this? You're gonna be nasty, isn't it? Oh my god anything bouncer anything bouncer spamming
01:00:52Oh, he's spamming the trigger
01:01:00I
01:01:08Went through that
01:01:24Yeah
01:01:31Okay, I have to explain this
01:01:33This is the skip that Lance and not edge discovered and I promise you we made sure
01:01:38That you cannot get enough height by hitting the jump pad
01:01:41There is no situation in which you can get enough height to reach that second jump pad
01:01:46But Kareem doesn't land on the jump pad. He lands on the side. Maybe not that that's what happens
01:01:51If you don't time your grab perfectly to catch your landing instead
01:01:54He grabs to catch himself which increases his friction giving him a release boost which gets him up the ramp
01:02:00And then right before he hits the jump pad
01:02:03he grabs again giving him a second speed boost where he clips the box collider of the jump pad and
01:02:10Because he's heading up and with his newly added speed he can reach the second jump pad
01:02:16Skipping the entire last section. It really is the culmination of all the skips combined. So impressive. Anyway back to the run
01:02:25What is so satisfying to me? Oh my god
01:02:28Who final jump
01:02:31What is it doing slow down?
01:02:34This game is a guy. No, don't do this game winds it up
01:02:39They're wrecking oh
