It's hard to nail down exactly what it means to “have your life together,” but you always know when you meet someone who does.
People who are "put together" are powerful. They command respect and embody composure. They are seen as more trustworthy and reliable. You hear it in how they’re spoken about: breakups are more bearable, layoffs are opportunities, losses are mere hiccups in these people’s lives. In talking about them in passing, negative qualities fall by the wayside because that person “has their life together.”
