00:00Zimbabwe has officially submitted its application to join BRICS, the country's foreign minister

00:05announced during a visit in Moscow on Thursday.

00:08Speaking alongside Russian foreign minister, he emphasized Zimbabwe's commitment to meet

00:12BRICS membership requirements.

00:14BRICS is one of the most important platforms for economic cooperation that is based on

00:23principles of mutual respect and sovereign equality of nations.

00:30Therefore, Zimbabwe would benefit from any system that respects these key principles

00:38of human interaction and human progress, and BRICS is one of them.

00:42And we are in the process of making sure that we meet the required conditions by BRICS and,

00:52of course, we are applying, we will be waiting for a reply that is according to the consensus

01:03that will be in BRICS.

01:05The BRICS bloc comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa has been expanding

01:11its influence with several nations expressing interest in joining.
