00:00For those who haven't finished college but want to get a degree,
00:04a law has been passed that will answer your dream as long as you have enough work experience.
00:10How? Let's find out with the testimony of Darlene Cai.
00:17The PSA has released a list of your jobs with the highest daily salary this year.
00:22It is led by managers with an average income of Php 1,300 per day.
00:28It is followed by those in the armed forces and professionals who have experience in science, social science, and other fields.
00:35Most of the jobs like this require a diploma from the college.
00:40That is why Angeline is worried that her business management course is not yet finished
00:45because she needs to work immediately for her family.
00:48She worked in sales for 10 years, 5 years as a barangay health worker,
00:52and now she is one of the barangay secretaries.
00:55If you are looking for a college graduate, you need at least 2 to 3 years before you can apply.
01:01Of course, it's not easy.
01:02However, it is possible for Angeline to help with the newly added Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program or ETIAP Act.
01:10Here, there will be a mechanism to get to know those who studied before,
01:14as well as the knowledge and experience gained from work or other training,
01:18and this is also an alternative to college classes to get an equal bachelor's or college degree.
01:24It is possible for Filipinos aged 23 and above to have a high school diploma
01:29and 5 years or more in a job that has experience in wanting to get a college degree.
01:34This is important because your work will be evaluated and credited as units in your degree program.
01:42You can apply to one of the more than 100 ETIAP-authorized schools listed in the CHED Regional Offices
01:48to assess if your experience is sufficient.
01:52If it turns out that you need to take additional units or subjects for a degree,
01:56you can take night, weekend, or online classes.
01:59In fact, ETIAP is no longer new because there was an executive order on it back in 1996.
02:06But now there is a law that says it will be expanded and funded by the government
02:11so that more people can benefit from it.
02:14It is said that colleges and universities allocating ETIAP are double the target.
02:19During the executive order, there were more than 41,000 ETIAP graduates from 1999 to October 2024.
02:27The new law, along with the continuous steps of the government to increase the number of jobs in the country.
02:33According to the latest PSA data, the percentage of unemployed people decreased in January compared to the same month in 2024.
02:41From 4.5% in January 2024, the unemployment rate in the country was only 4.3% in January 2025.
02:50But that's higher than 3.9% in October 2024.
02:55For GMA Integrated Groups, I am Darlene Cai, your witness.
03:11.
