Porsche Penske Motorsport has successfully completed the preparatory test drives, the so-called prologue. Now the season opener in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) is just around the corner.

00:00So last year I think we just got our tyre management well under control, raining can
00:11easily become a topic here and this we managed quite well last year which brought performance.
00:16So we try to repeat that this year.
00:19We just went through some testing yesterday during the prologue to try to understand that.
00:23The main change this year will be the race time change.
00:29With the race starting later we will pass the peak track temperature which we saw last
00:33year at the beginning of the race and we will just drive longer into the night where it
00:37gets cooler and that's what we need to manage basically.
00:40When it starts cooling down, first effect is humidity, ambient which has an effect
00:44on the aerodynamic.
00:46The second effect is the track temperature cooling down which affects the tyre behaviour.
00:51It can offset a bit the front and the rear axle changing the car balance and this is
00:54something the driver has to cope with.
