00:00In December of last year, the number of Filipinos who were given the National ID or Filsis ID reached 91.7 million.

00:09This is according to the statistics of the Philippine Statistics Authority, which is the agency that is in charge of this.

00:14This is still being distributed and its registration and distribution is being expanded.

00:21To give us more details about this, we will interview Nicole Dane-Navea from the Feedback and Grievance Division of the Filsis Registry Office of the PSA.

00:34Hi, good morning, Ms. Neji and Prof. Filipo, and thank you for inviting us here to Rise and Shine Philippines.

00:41Thank you so much for being with us this morning.

00:43First of all, let's answer the public's questions.

00:46A lot of people are asking, what is the importance of having a National ID system and how can it help every Filipino?

00:56Actually, the goal of the National ID system is to give our countrymen a valid proof of identity so that they can use it in their transactions.

01:10One of the goals of the National ID system is social protection and financial inclusion.

01:18So, using our ID, we can apply to various programs of our government.

01:26In terms of financial inclusion, using our ID, we can open bank accounts and access various financial services that require a valid proof of identity.

01:39We also have what we call authentication services.

01:42Using the National ID system, various agencies and private establishments can verify that whoever presents their National ID is really the person presenting their National ID.

01:56There are a lot of benefits to having a National ID, right?

02:00Ma'am Nicole, how can our RSPs register and what documents do they need to bring?

02:11For the National ID, walk-ins are welcome in our registration centers.

02:19Currently, our registration centers are located in the field offices of the PSA.

02:25The addresses of our field offices are available on our website at psa.gov.th or philsis.gov.th.

02:34You just need to bring a supporting document, as you mentioned.

02:39When you are in the registration center, you will get your demographic information, such as name, birthdate, sex, and at the same time,

02:49you will capture your biometric information, such as fingerprint scanning, iris scan, as well as your photograph.

02:58The supporting documents that we accept include the PSA-issued birth certificate.

03:04If you have a passport, that's also accepted.

03:09UMID, SSS, driver's license, and other supporting documents that you can also check out on our website.

03:17Alright. I'm guilty here that I still haven't gotten my National ID 2-3 years ago, I think, when I registered.

03:26For those who still haven't gotten their ID 2-3 years ago, but were able to register, tell us more.

03:33What can they do? Can they still get their ID 2-3 years ago? Or do they need to get a new ID?

03:40Thank you for that question. Actually, a lot of people are asking us about that.

03:45But we just want to communicate that our National ID is not just a National ID card.

03:54Our National ID has three formats, which is, of course, what you said earlier, which is the National ID card.

04:01There are more than 50 million people who have distributed the National ID cards.

04:05But while waiting for the National ID card, we came up with a proactive strategy of releasing the digital National ID as well as the National ID in paper format.

04:15The paper format is readily available in our registration centers.

04:20You can go there and ask for a printed copy.

04:23And at the same time, what we are currently promoting right now is really the digital National ID.

04:30So just go to the national-id.gov.ph website and just input your name, birthday, as well as the live verification that you are the one who registered.

04:47You will immediately get your digital National ID.

04:51So our messaging at PSA is actually the same functionality and validity.

04:58So our digital National ID is accepted as well as the National ID in paper format.

05:04In different transactions, it is similar to the National ID card.

05:07There, it is still accepted.

05:09So ma'am, what can we do if there is an agency or a private company that we present the digital copy of our National ID, but they did not accept it?

05:20There. Actually, there is a law that says that there is a chance of punishment if you do not accept the National ID and there are also fees.

05:32That's why we are encouraging those who have experience of not accepting the National ID as a valid proof of identity to plug it to PSA using our channels,

05:45our feedback channels.

06:01You can easily search it and message us so that we can take action on these incidents.

06:37Yes, thank you for that question.

06:40Right now, the PSA is looking into having a decentralized strategy of printing our National ID cards.

06:49So rest assured that we will announce it once the decentralization is ready.

06:55But otherwise, our Digital National ID is already available for download for Php 87 million.

07:03So you just need to access it so that you can use your National ID.

07:09And you can also, as I mentioned earlier, go to our registration centers to have the National ID in paper format printed for you by our personnel.

07:19Our campaign will continue in registering.

07:26Our target right now is for our children to register from 0 to 4 years old.

07:34This will be open to the public.

07:36And they will also have a National ID so that they can use it as soon as they are able to use it in their transactions, even if they are still young.
