Did you know that in Iron Man?, when Tony was building his Mark II armor, he was testing the repulsor of his suit? When he fires the repulsor, you can see the energy coming from the arc reactor, and if you look closely, you'll notice it's creating some kind of energy. This shows how well the CGI team worked on the smallest details.
