The Government of India has fact-checked Indian Overseas Congress chairperson Sam Pitroda over his hacking claims at IIT Ranchi. The Ministry of Education dismissed his statement as "baseless" and "ignorant," clarifying that no such IIT exists in Ranchi.
Transcript
00:00The big story we are following here on India Today is what Congress Overseas Chief Sam
00:04Petroda has said.
00:05It's a war taking place between the Congress Overseas Chief Sam Petroda versus the Senate.
00:12The government has fact-checked Sam Petroda's IIT-Ranchi claim.
00:17Sam Petroda spoke of his IIT-Ranchi speech.
00:19The government has fact-checked him.
00:22There is no IIT-Ranchi.
00:23Petroda's claims in the podcast are baseless.
00:27No Ranchi Institute invited Petroda.
00:29So this is a fact-check which is being done by the government.
00:31It is Sam Petroda who spoke about the fact that he was invited by IIT-Ranchi.
00:37This is a new battlefront which has opened up between the Congress and the central government.
00:42Central government has fact-checked Sam Petroda who is the Congress Party's Overseas Chief.
00:48My colleague Himanshu Mishra is joining me on the story.
00:52Himanshu, not just once, we have seen many times that Sam Petroda says certain things
00:56which are later fact-checked.
00:59Central government has fact-checked and said that the institute you are talking about is not there.
01:05Yes, the education ministry has fact-checked and put allegations on Sam Petroda.
01:12And then they checked that there is no IIT-Ranchi.
01:14We all know that there is no IIT-Ranchi in Ranchi.
01:17IITs are in different cities but not in Ranchi.
01:21And they also said that the allegations put on Sam Petroda are baseless and are beyond facts.
01:28But the education ministry also said that there is an institute called IIT,
01:34that is IIT-Ranchi.
01:36In the conversation that took place there, they said that
01:40the VCs there, the teachers there, said that
01:46Sam Petroda has not been invited to any seminar, whether it is physical or virtual.
01:55They also said that such a statement is being made to spoil the image of the country towards IIT.
02:04IIT has a big image, where there are many renowned students,
02:13and there is a very qualified education system there.
02:18Their image is being spoilt.
02:20The education ministry also said that
02:23such statements were made by Sam Petroda to ruin the image of IIT.
02:30You have to see what Sam Petroda says about this.
02:33Yes, it is true that Sam Petroda gives such statements many times.
02:36It is not only beyond facts, but it also poses a problem for the Congress.
02:43Thank you very much for giving us all this information, Mr. Ghimanshu.
03:06Thank you very much.
03:36Indian diplomat, Shritish Tyagi, said India is exercising its right to reply
03:41in response to all the baseless and malicious references that have been made by Pakistan.
03:47It's very unfortunate to see Pakistan's so-called leaders and delegates
03:51continuing to dutifully spread falsehood handed down by its military terrorist complex.
03:56This is India taking a stand against Pakistan and very clearly saying
04:00that India is now exercising its right, because it has the right to reply.
04:04And now India is responding to all the baseless and the malicious references that have been made by Pakistan.
04:14India is exercising its right of reply in response to the baseless and malicious references made by Pakistan.
04:21It is regrettable yet unsurprising to see Pakistan's so-called leaders and delegates
04:28continuing to dutifully spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex.
04:34Pakistan is even making a mockery of the OIC by abusing it as its mouthpiece, which is fooling nobody.
04:43We do not wish to dignify such propaganda, but are constrained to make a few simple points for the record.
04:51First, the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were, are and will always remain
04:58an integral and inalienable part of India.
05:01Second, the unprecedented political, social and economic progress in Jammu and Kashmir
05:07in the past few years speaks for itself.
05:10These successes are a testament to the people's trust in the government's commitment to bring normalcy
05:16to a region scarred by decades of Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
05:22Third, as a country where human rights abuses, persecution of minorities
05:28and systematic erosion of democratic values constitute state policies
05:34and which brazenly harbors UN-sanctioned terrorists, Pakistan is in no position to lecture anyone.
05:41Instead of its unhealthy obsession with India, Pakistan should focus on providing actual governance
05:48and justice to its own people.
05:50Mr. President, it is unfortunate that this Council's time continues to be wasted by a failed state
05:58which thrives on instability and survives on international handouts.
06:03Its rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions of inhumanity and its governance of incompetence.
06:10India remains focused on democracy, progress and ensuring dignity for its people,
06:17values that Pakistan would do well to learn from. I thank you.
06:22Now if we speak about back home, there is a trouble that is brewing between the central government and Tamil Nadu
06:29and it's a face-off over the delimitation. It's escalating with each passing day.
06:34It was Union Home Minister Amit Shah who denied all the charges that are being levelled
06:38by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin.
06:41Home Minister said Tamil Nadu's seats in Indian Parliament will not be reduced after the delimitation exercise.
06:47The DMK however has hit back. DMK MPA Raja has lashed out at the Home Minister
06:52for giving out false assurances to the people of the state of Tamil Nadu
06:56and said that his statement is indeed very confusing.
06:59He highlighted that the constitution says that delimitation will only be conducted by population
07:04and asked him to clarify how the centre plans to hold the exercise on a pro-rata basis.
07:09It was Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K. Annamalai who actually doubled down on DMK
07:14and went on to claim that the delimitation exercise will not be held according to the population of the state.
07:20He even slammed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for spreading misinformation to the people of the state.
07:27Our prayer, as stated in the letter of our Honourable Chief Minister,
07:30that 1971 status quo must be maintained as far as the delimitation is concerned.
07:35On the contrary, Amit Shah says he is not giving any answer about 1971.
07:40He is giving a false assurance that the number will not be reduced on a pro-rata basis.
07:45My humble question is, yes, on a pro-rata basis we are not so naive to understand or not understand.
07:52Please clarify the country, please clarify the Tamil people, southern states.
07:56Pro-rata, principle of pro-rata will be applicable on the basis of the population and census
08:01or on the basis of the existing number of constituents available by MPs and MLAs.
08:07Now the Delhi Assembly session will resume today and it will be a fiery one.
08:23It's the BJP that is expected to table all the 14 CAG reports on all the allegations
08:29that have been made against the Aam Aadmi Party and this will happen in this current session.
08:35The BJP government in Delhi which is led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta
08:38tabled the CAG report with regards to Delhi's excise policy.
08:42It showed that the state government suffered a cumulative loss of close to 2000 crore rupees
08:47because of the liquor policy which was introduced by the then Aam Aadmi Party government.
08:52The BJP attacked former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal
08:55and they said that skeletons will keep on tumbling out of his closet one by one.
09:00The BJP also said Arvind Kejriwal has set the standard for political deceit and fraud
09:05and he will have to answer to Delhi's taxpayers.
09:08The honest taxpayers who believed in Aam Aadmi Party,
09:11all those answers now will be given by the Aam Aadmi Party.
09:30The Aam Aadmi Party was suppressing the CAG report.
09:35They knew that when this report will be tabled,
09:38then the scams will be exposed and the Aam Aadmi Party's black truth will be exposed in front of Delhi's public.
09:45This is the first time in the history of the country
09:49where CAG has quantified the losses.
09:54And this is a very big figure.
09:56The losses are not less than 2000 crores.
09:59The Aam Aadmi Party should clarify
10:03what was their obligation to introduce this kind of policy
10:08which gave a very wrong message to the government.
10:13Because the government's money is the public's money.
10:16So why was the public's money misused?
10:23Modi Ji said that as soon as we come to power,
10:26we will publish those reports and bring them to the Parliament.
10:29Delhi's People's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has done that.
10:33Now it is clear that the kingpin, Arvind Kejriwal,
10:38is trying to save his face.
10:40Now he is vacating the houses of the members of the Rajya Sabha,
10:43and trying to take entry from the back door.
10:47Arvind Kejriwal earned the trust of the people of Delhi by promising them
10:52something different in terms of politics.
10:55But essentially gave them the same politics that the Congress Party
10:58has imposed on Delhi and on the country for 70-75 years.
11:02And that is why the people of Delhi have punished him.
11:05The people of Delhi have said no to Arvind Kejriwal
11:08and this kind of hypocrisy and double standards and lies.
11:12Moving to the state of Maharashtra from where a very shocking incident
11:15has come to light from the Pune city.
11:18A 26-year-old woman was raped inside the MSRTC bus
11:21and this incident took place at the Suvargate depot in Pune.
11:25This incident took place early Tuesday morning.
11:27The woman was waiting for her bus.
11:29It was the accused who then approached her,
11:31claiming that her bus had indeed arrived on the other platform.
11:34The accused, Tata Ghade, has now been identified through the CCTV footages.
11:39He is currently on the run.
11:40The Maharashtra police has now launched a manhunt to nab him at the earliest.
11:44The case has sparked a big political uproar.
11:46It's the Shiv Sena, UBT, that staged a massive protest right at the bus depot.
11:51They highlighted the security lapses at the bus station
11:54and even vandalised a guard's cabin which was there on the depot.
11:58The Congress party has also started to question the law and order situation
12:02in the state of Maharashtra under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
12:05Now the opposition in the state is demanding that the Chief Minister should resign.
12:09On the other side, it was Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar
12:12who came to the rescue of the Chief Minister.
12:15He has given an assurance that all the possible assistance to the survivor will be given
12:19and has also given an assurance that the police will nab the accused at the earliest.
12:45Girl was preparing to go to the Satara.
12:47She wasn't getting the bus at early morning and then accused approached her.
12:51He talked to her and then both entered in the same bus from this route
12:57and then he physically abused her.
13:00So the accused manipulated her and believing him
13:04that led her towards the stationary Shiv Sai bus.
13:08It was parked in the same terminal
13:12and upon reaching the bus the victim realised that the bus was not in service
13:17and voiced her concern but till then she was allegedly abused by the accused.
13:23Now 36 years old, Datta Gade, he is on the run.
13:29Eight teams of crime branch deployed to hunt him down.
13:33Identification has already been done.
13:36Health is again stable of the same victim girl.
13:40CCTVs are already seized.
13:41Investigation is underway.
13:43Crime branch is still hunting him.
13:45Dog squad is also deployed by the local police.
13:48But now women's security concerns are again raising in Pune
13:52and also political leaders have already started speaking on the same issues.
13:57With camera person Gopal Harness, this is Omkar Wable, India Today, Pune.
14:01We have taken the complaint immediately.
14:03We have taken his cognizance.
14:05We have taken the CCTV footage.
14:08We have identified the accused.
14:10He has been identified.
14:13Now our team is looking for him.
14:15We have made a team of 7-8 people.
14:17We are looking for him everywhere in the district.
14:21Last night we went to the dog squad.
14:23We tried to find him in the fields of the village where he is.
14:27We are trying everywhere to find the accused.
14:31After the incident, the girl filed her complaint at Swargarh police station at 9 am.
14:36DCP Smartana Patil and Poonam Patil took immediate action.
14:42All the CCTV cameras were there.
14:45The CCTV footage was there.
14:47The girl had told us about the man's sketches.
14:51Through the photos, they prepared 8 police reports and immediately went to Pune city
14:57and sent them to the areas where they thought the man could be.
15:03There is no law and order in Maharashtra.
15:07We condemn such incidents of rape.
15:10It is a very painful incident.
15:12The ST bus that comes under the government,
15:15such incidents are happening there.
15:17No one is afraid of the police, administration and the law.
15:20This is very shameful.
15:22We want the accused to be arrested and taken to the fast track court.
15:30He should be given immediate punishment.
15:33It is a very shameful incident.
15:36It happened in Maharashtra.
15:39In Shivshahi bus, rape has happened.
15:44It is a very shameful and bad incident.
15:51After this incident, the accused has not been caught yet.
15:59The government's carelessness has led to this incident.
16:05The law and order in the city has been ruined.
16:09It is very unfortunate that such an incident of assault has happened in the Shivshahi bus in Pune.
16:17Although the investigations are going on
16:20the police will come out with its first information report.
16:23After that only we can say what the situation was.
16:28It is United States President Donald Trump
16:31who has confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
16:34is all set to visit the United States on the 28th of February.
16:38The two leaders are all set to sign an agreement on very rare elements and minerals at the White House.
16:44US President Donald Trump said a deal would help America taxpayers get their money back
16:48for all the aid that they have sent to Ukraine throughout the war.
16:52This agreement is focused on rare earth materials
16:55and it will provide the United States with access to critical resources like uranium and lithium.
17:01But despite its economic promises, there is actually no security guarantees
17:05which are included in this typical deal.
17:08Zelensky has expressed optimism, however, saying that this agreement has a lot of success.
17:13He also stressed that success depends heavily on the way forward along with President Donald Trump.
17:43President Zelensky is going to be coming on Friday.
17:48It's now confirmed and we're going to be signing an agreement
17:53which will be a very big agreement.
17:56And I want to thank Howard and Scott for the job you guys did in putting it together.
18:01You really did a great job.
18:04And I want to thank President Zelensky for the job you guys did in putting it together.
18:10You really did an amazing job.
18:14And that will be on rare earth and other things.
18:18I think that very importantly we're going to be able to make...
18:22The previous administration put us in a very bad position,
18:26but we've been able to make a deal where we're going to get our money back
18:29and we're going to get a lot of money in the future.
18:33It is United States President Donald Trump who says
18:37companies can now hire Indian graduates from American universities with gold card citizenship.
18:43U.S. President Donald Trump says companies can hire Indian graduates,
18:47the American from those who are studying in the U.S., with gold card citizenship.
18:52U.S. companies couldn't hire them in the past and students had to go back to India.
18:57Then they open up companies and they become billionaires.
19:00They are employing thousands of people.
19:02This is something which should be done within the United States of America.
19:06Donald Trump said a person comes in from India, China, Japan,
19:10lots of different places and they go to Harvard, they go to the Wharton School.
19:14They are made job offers, but those offers are immediately taken back
19:18because you have no idea whether or not that person can stay in the country.
19:22I've had the complaints where a lot of people have said that
19:25I've had the complaints where a lot of these companies,
19:28they go out and they hire people and they cannot hire them.
19:31They go back to India, they go back to the country from where they came,
19:34they open up a company and then they are all set to become millionaires.
19:41They want to hire the number one student at a school.
19:45A person comes from India, China, Japan, lots of different places
19:52and they go to Harvard, the Wharton School of Finance,
19:56they go to Yale, they go to all great schools
19:59and they graduate number one in their class.
20:02They are made job offers, but the offer is immediately rescinded
20:07because you have no idea whether or not that person can stay in the country.
20:10I want to be able to have that person stay in the country.
20:13These companies can go and buy a gold card
20:16and they can use it as a matter of recruitment.
20:19At the same time, the company is using that money to pay down debt.
20:23We're going to pay down a lot of debt with that.
20:25News coming in at the moment, it's MS Dhoni's T-shirt
20:28that has sparked an IPL retirement speculation.
20:31One last time, this was written but in Morse code
20:35at the T-shirt that MS Dhoni was wearing when he came to Chennai.
20:38Dhoni's Morse code T-shirt has now triggered a big speculation.
20:42MS Dhoni landed in Chennai to prepare for the IPL.
20:46Is he all set to hang his boots after this IPL season?
20:49That's the big question everyone is now asking.
20:52Visuals that you are seeing are coming in from the Chennai airport
20:55and you can clearly see that there's a Morse code
20:58that is written on his T-shirt and the Morse code reads,
21:02one last time.
21:04My colleague Pramod is now joining me on the story.
21:07Pramod, one thing is very clear, MS Dhoni is class apart.
21:10Few expected him to announce his international retirement
21:13on Instagram on India's Independence Day way back in 2020.
21:17Is he once again sending out a message?
21:19Because the fans are in a tizzy.
21:23One thing is very clear, nobody can beat
21:26how famous Dhoni is when it comes to Tamil Nadu.
21:29In fact, this was also made evident by Prashant Kishore
21:32who was in Chennai yesterday to attend Vijay's event
21:35where he very clearly mentioned that the only Bihari
21:37who is famous in Tamil Nadu is Dhoni
21:40and he wants to actually become more famous than Dhoni
21:43which can only be done through hard work.
21:45However, this particular T-shirt which we saw him wearing
21:49a black T-shirt with Morse code,
21:51fans saw it in such a manner that it could have written
21:55one last time.
21:56But it has to be confirmed because Morse code is not
21:58very much clear for everybody.
21:59On one side, they claim that the word last
22:02has been not written exactly because Morse code
22:04comes with dash and dot.
22:06But fans, whatever they did, fans very clearly mentioned
22:09that Dhoni has already spoken last week where he said
22:11when it comes to IBM, age does not matter.
22:14Dhoni is 43 and he is still a very important factor
22:17of Chennai Super Kings and he will be forever.
22:20That's what fans teach them.
22:22So even if this T-shirt has any kind of code written on it
22:26in the hearts of the fans, Dhoni is going to remain forever
22:29when it comes to Chennai Super Kings history.
22:32Thank you Pramod for giving us those details.
22:34The big question still remains, the internet is a buzz.
22:37Is this a sign that MS Dhoni is giving out to his fans?
22:40Will this be his last IPL season?
22:46Now the Afghanistani cricket team has done it once again.
22:49For the second straight time, they have knocked out
22:52the 2019 World Champions England in an ICC ODI event.
22:56The star of the ball, Azmatullah, claimed five-wicket haul
23:00to give his team a stunning eight-run win against the three Lions
23:03to knock them out at the semi-final race.
23:05It was Azmatullah's men who held their nerves
23:08in the closing moments of the game to keep themselves alive
23:11in the tournament.
23:12Chasing a 326-run target, England put up a solid fight back,
23:17courtesy to Joe Root's century.
23:19Earlier, Afghanistan's Ibrahim had blasted 177 runs
23:24off just 146 balls, which is also the highest individual score
23:29in the ICC Champions Trophy.
23:32The top story we are following here on India Today
23:34is coming in from the state of Tamil Nadu.
23:36It is Chief Minister MK Stalin who has written another letter
23:39to the party carder.
23:41And he has said that Hindi is only a few hundred years old,
23:44whereas Tamil is several thousand years old.
23:47Stalin's letter says neither Hindi nor Sanskrit
23:50will ever be able to destroy the Tamil language.
23:53In the land where Hindi is spread, it can be seen
23:56how those who could not identify oppression
23:58have lost their language.
24:00Hindi and Sanskrit invasion has destroyed more than
24:0325 languages in Northern India.
24:06This is a combative MK Stalin who has now written a letter
24:09to the DMK carder and he has said that Hindi is only
24:13a few hundred years old, whereas Tamil as a language
24:16is several thousand years old.
24:18My colleague Aragha is now joining me on the story.
24:20Aragha, it's a fierce battle that is now being fought,
24:23Tamil Nadu government on one side and the central government
24:26on one side.
24:27We have seen how the top leaders from the BJP,
24:29including the Home Minister Mithra,
24:31they have given a clarification and they are saying
24:33that the third language policy is not Hindi imposition.
24:36But we are seeing very staunch resistance coming in
24:39from the state of Tamil Nadu.
24:41Madam Naishwarya, this resistance has been happening
24:44for several weeks now, ever since the central government
24:47decided to withhold the funds that was allotted to Tamil Nadu
24:51by saying that unless and until national education policy
24:55will be implemented in Tamil Nadu,
24:57the funds will not be given.
24:59So ever since Pradhan made that statement,
25:01this whole language war issue has been lingering
25:05in the state of Tamil Nadu, triggering a fight
25:07between the union government and the centre.
25:10And today, Chief Minister Stalin has written
25:12a second such letter to his party carder.
25:15He wrote a letter yesterday and one more letter
25:18has been written to his party carder today
25:20by saying that Hindi is only a few hundred years old,
25:23while Tamil is several thousand years old.
25:26Do not let Hindi penetrate into the Dravidian land of Tamil Nadu.
25:31Hindi and Sanskrit invasion has destroyed
25:33more than 25 languages in the north.
25:36He even made this statement in his public speech.
25:39He said that several such languages,
25:41for example Marwali, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Haryanvi,
25:44several languages in the northern India
25:47is now being spoken very less thanks to Hindi invasion
25:51and do not let that happen in Tamil Nadu as well,
25:54is what Stalin is saying.
25:55We also saw several instances in this particular week
25:59when DMK carders smeared black paint on Hindi scriptures
26:03on railway station signboards, post office signboards,
26:06every single signboard outside ATM banks.
26:09We saw that happen throughout this week
26:12and today Stalin has written one more letter
26:14to his party carder saying do not let Hindi
26:17penetrate into the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
26:22Thank you Anagha for giving us those details.
26:24It clearly seems like the state of Tamil Nadu
26:26is gearing up for a long drawn war with the central government
26:29with regards to Hindi imposition.
26:31It is the Chief Minister M.K Stalin
26:33who has taken a very clear stand
26:35and has been writing letters to its party carder
26:37saying that Hindi imposition has to be resisted.
26:41It's the center face-off which is now heating up.
26:44In fact the delimitation is also something
26:46which has become the latest flashpoint
26:48after the language war.
26:49It is Home Minister Amit Shah
26:51who has rejected Stalin's charges
26:53and said that no seats will be lost during delimitation
26:56and the number of MPs who are coming to the parliament
26:58from the state of Tamil Nadu,
26:59that will not be impacted.
27:02Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister and his son
27:06both have come to disturb the meditation of the Tamil Nadu people
27:12and have come to create unrest.
27:15This is not a new incident.
27:17This is not a new incident.
27:19This is a new thing.
27:21This is a new thing.
27:23This is a new thing.
27:25This is a new thing.
27:29The DMK vs Centre face-off heats up.
27:42First locking horns over the language policy, now it's delimitation.
27:49Home Minister Amit Shah rejected Stalin's charge that delimitation will hurt the state,
27:54claiming Tamil Nadu will not lose even a single seat in the exercise.
28:25The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had claimed the state will lose 8 seats in the Lok Sabha
28:33if delimitation based on this year's census takes place.
28:54Tamil Nadu will lose 31 MPs.
28:58The state will lose more people.
29:02This is why Tamil Nadu's voice is being crushed.
29:05The party is acting with ambition.
29:08Amit Shah also denied Stalin's claim that the Centre was freezing funds
29:12over the non-implementation of the national education policy
29:16and drew a comparison between NDA vs UPA era funds for the state.
29:23UPA gave 1,52,000 crores in 10 years
29:28and Modi gave 5,08,000 crores in 10 years to Tamil Nadu.
29:36The injustice happened when you were a member of the UPA government
29:43and your minister was there.
29:45That's when Tamil Nadu faced injustice.
29:48We will get 2,000 crores only if we sign this plan.
29:52Even if we get 1,000 crores, we won't sign it.
29:56If we sign it today, what will happen?
29:59Our Tamil Nadu will be gone after 2,000 years.
30:04Stalin will not atone for that sin.
30:12The Home Minister also alleged that anti-national activities
30:15are on the rise under Stalin's government.
30:40While the Centre and the DMK up the ante over the national education policy,
30:45the fight is only getting fiercer in Tamil Nadu.
30:54The Centre vs Tamil Nadu face-off over delimitation is escalating with each passing day.
30:59It was Union Home Minister Amit Shah who has denied all the charges
31:03that are being levelled by the Chief Minister M.K Stalin
31:06and he has went on to claim Tamil Nadu's seats in the Indian Parliament
31:10will not be reduced after the delimitation exercise.
31:13The DMK however has hit back.
31:15DMK MP A Raja has lashed out at Union Home Minister
31:18saying that all the assurances that they are giving at the moment
31:21are false assurances to the people of Tamil Nadu
31:24and said that his statement is indeed very confusing.
31:27He also highlighted that the Constitution says delimitation will be conducted
31:31on the basis of population and he went ahead and said
31:34you need to clarify how the Centre plans to execute this exercise on a pro-Rata basis.
31:40Tamil Nadu BJP Chief however K.Anna Malai doubled down on DMK
31:43and has claimed that the delimitation exercise will not be held according to population.
31:48He has even slammed the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
31:50for spreading misinformation to the people of the state.
32:09That number will not be reduced on pro-Rata basis.
32:12My humble question is, yes pro-Rata basis we are not so naive to understand or not understand.
32:19Please clarify the country, please clarify the Tamil people, southern states.
32:23Pro-Rata, principle of pro-Rata will be applicable on the basis of the population and census
32:28or on the basis of the existing number of constituents available by MPs and MLAs.
32:39Why did you bring in DMK?
32:41You are talking so much.
32:43I too want to be praised like Dhoni.
32:45I too have come from Bihar Jharkhand.
32:47Why did you bring in Dravid Punnetra Kalagam and put him in power?
32:52The people will never forgive you for that.
32:54That is the truth.
32:56What is the problem between you and us individually?
32:58You are coming from another state individually.
33:00Whatever work you do to make Tamil Nadu good,
33:03whoever you are in India,
33:05Tamil Nadu is going to give back that respect.
33:08Classic example is Dhoni.
33:10He came without knowing the language, played Chennai Super Kings.
33:13The whole Tamil Nadu is accepting him as our son.
33:16Don't think that is why you are accepting him.
33:18Do good and everyone will accept you.
33:35because of objectionable content.
33:37The Education Ministry has hit out at Sam Pitroda.
33:40They have said that there is no IIT in Ranchi.
33:43And also said his remarks are baseless
33:45and this is an attempt to malign the institution.
33:47There is however an Indian Institution of Information Technology or IIIT in Ranchi
33:52and the government says that even did not send out an invitation to Sam Pitroda
33:57for any virtual seminar.
33:59Congress leader Sam Pitroda has now alleged that there was objectionable content
34:04which was played during a virtual interaction
34:06which he was doing with students of IIT Ranchi.
34:09My colleague Ashutosh Mishra is now joining me on the story.
34:13Ashutosh, it's not the first time we are seeing these kind of statements
34:16coming in from Sam Pitroda.
34:18The government was very quick to fact check him.
34:20In fact, they said that there is no IIT Ranchi,
34:23an institution that Sam Pitroda has been speaking about.
34:26That's what the government claims.
34:31We will have to see whether they even carried out any investigation.
34:34The claim also said that Sam Pitroda was not invited
34:37whereas the Sam said that he was addressing the seminar with the IIIT virtually
34:42and then all of a sudden there was some objectionable video played
34:45during that webinar or the web conference.
34:48And immediately after his objection that he raised on various platforms,
34:52the government came out in clarification that there is no IIT exists.
34:55Of course, it did not mention about that it was Ranchi IIT
34:59but it was Ranchi IIIT during addressing this web conference
35:02when this video played, he raised that issue
35:04that how this could be even possible.
35:06Now, clarifying the government says, no, it did not happen.
35:09We will have to see whether they are going to carry out even any investigation
35:12or they will stick to only the stand that neither he was invited
35:16nor any such incident happened.
35:19Thank you Ashutosh for giving us those details
35:21and he is also saying that one-on-one needs to see
35:23and this is what the opposition will say
35:25whether there was an investigation done by the central government or not.
35:31Moving now to the state of Maharashtra
35:33where from where a shocking incident has come to light.
35:36In the city of Pune, a 26-year-old woman was raped inside the MSR DC bus
35:41and this took place in Pune's Swargate Depot.
35:44The incident took place on Tuesday morning.
35:47This was the time when the woman was waiting for a bus
35:49and the accused approached her claiming that her bus had indeed arrived
35:52at the other platform.
35:54The accused, Datta Ghade, has been identified through all the CCTV footages
35:58that were there on the platform.
36:00He is currently on the run.
36:02The Maharashtra police, however, have now launched a manhunt
36:04to nab him at the earliest.
36:06This case has now sparked a big political uproar.
36:09It's the Shiv Sena UBT that staged a massive protest
36:13right at the bus depot where the incident took place.
36:16They highlighted the security lapses at the bus station
36:19and even went on to vandalize the guard's cabin
36:21which was present at the depot.
36:23The Congress party, also an opposition party in Maharashtra,
36:26is questioning the law and order situation
36:28under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
36:30The Congress party, in fact, is now demanding that the Chief Minister should resign.
36:34The Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has assured
36:37all the possible assistance to the survivor
36:39and he has also given an assurance to the people
36:41that the police will nab the accused at the earliest.
36:47A 26-year-old girl allegedly raped in a standing bus
36:51at Swargate bus terminal of Pune.
36:55I'm standing at the same location right now
36:57where this incident took place around 5.30 early morning.
37:01So, accused falsely informed her that the bus has stopped somewhere else.
37:08Girl was preparing to go to the Satara.
37:10She wasn't getting the bus at early morning
37:12and then accused approached her.
37:14He talked to her and then both entered in the same bus from this route.
37:20Then, he physically abused her.
37:23So, the accused manipulated her and believing him,
37:27that led her towards the stationary Shiv Sai bus.
37:31It was parked in the same terminal.
37:34And upon reaching the bus, the victim realised that the bus was not in service
37:39and voiced her concern.
37:41But till then, she was allegedly abused by the accused.
37:45Now, a 36-year-old Datta Gade is on the run.
37:51Eight teams of crime branch deployed to hunt him down.
37:55Identification has already been done.
37:58Health is again stable of the same victim girl.
38:02CCTVs are already seized.
38:04Investigation is underway.
38:05Crime branch is still hunting him.
38:07Dog squad is also deployed by the local police.
38:11But now, women's security concerns are again rising in Pune.
38:15And also, political leaders have already started speaking on the same issues.
38:20With camera person Gopal Harness, this is Omkar Wable, India Today, Pune.
38:24We have taken the complaint immediately.
38:26We have taken his cognizance.
38:27We have got the CCTV footage, from which we have come to know about the accused.
38:32He has been recognised.
38:35Now, our team is looking for him.
38:37We have made 7-8 teams.
38:39We are looking for him everywhere in the district.
38:43Last night, we went to the dog squad.
38:45We have tried to find him in the fields of the village where he belongs.
38:49We are trying everywhere to find the accused.
38:52After the incident, the girl filed her complaint at Swargari Police Station at 9 PM.
38:58DCP Smarthana Patil and Konam Patil were present there.
39:03They took immediate action.
39:04They took immediate action.
39:05All the CCTV cameras were there.
39:07The CCTV footage was there.
39:09The girl had told us about the man.
39:12There were some sketches of the man.
39:13And through the photos, they have prepared 8 police reports.
39:18They have immediately sent them to Pune city and other areas where they think the man could be.
39:26In Maharashtra, where is the law and order left?
39:29We condemn such incidents of rape.
39:32We condemn such incidents of rape.
39:34Such incidents are happening in the ST bus, which is under the government's control.
39:39No one is scared of the police or the administration.
39:43This is very shameful.
39:44So, we would like that whoever is involved,
39:46they should take strict action against him.
39:48He should be arrested immediately.
39:50His case should be taken to the fast track court.
39:53He should be given immediate punishment by a big prosecutor.

44:17We are moving on to the Mahakom now.
44:19The Mahakom has concluded, but the politics surrounding it still continues to escalate.
44:24It's the BJP versus the opposition that are now locking horns once again.
44:28Take a look at the report.
44:29It will tell you what exactly occurred during the divine event.
44:40The Mahakom Mela, which began on the 13th of January,
44:43brought more than 66 crore pilgrims to Prayagraj over the course of the last six weeks,
44:49making it the largest gathering of humanity in the world.
44:52The spiritual event, however, became the eye of the political storm after two stampedes took place.
44:58One of the stampedes took place in the Mela area on the 29th of January
45:03and the second one took place at the New Delhi railway station on the 16th of February.
45:09The opposition leaders lashed out at the Yogi Adityanath government,
45:12accusing it of failure in providing facilities to the pilgrims.
45:38The Mahakom Mela took place on the 13th of January.
45:43I said I won't go to the Mahakom Mela.
45:45It has become a death camp.
45:48I respect the Mahakom Mela like it is a death camp.
45:52I am a devout believer.
45:54I respect the Holy Ganga Mother.
45:57But instead of planning, so many people died.
46:03They said it is a pilgrimage.
46:05Is it true?
46:06So many dead bodies have been dumped in the river.
46:10Congress chief Malika Arjun Khargi also questioned the government.
46:15Would poverty be removed by taking a dip in the Ganga?
46:19I don't want to put pressure on anyone's faith.
46:23If anyone is hurt, I apologize.
46:27The child is not going to school.
46:29The workers are not getting work.
46:33They are spending thousands of rupees on competition.
46:43The BGP hit back at the opposition,
46:45with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading from the front.
46:50These people who hate Hinduism,
46:58have been living in disguise for centuries.
47:04People who have fallen from the mentality of slavery,
47:08keep attacking our religions, beliefs and temples.
47:28Meanwhile, environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk,
47:30wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
47:32highlighting the receding Himalayan glaciers.
47:35He warned that the next Mahakam, after 144 years,
47:39could be held on sand if we don't act.
47:42Bureau report India Today.
47:47It's the United States President Donald Trump,
47:49who has now confirmed that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky
47:53is all set to visit the US on the 28th of February.
47:56Both the leaders are all set to sign an agreement,
47:59on rare minerals and elements,
48:01and this signing will be done at the White House.
48:03US President Donald Trump has said,
48:05that there will be a deal that will help the American taxpayer,
48:08get their money back.
48:10Now this money will be back,
48:11for the aid that they have been sending to Ukraine,
48:13throughout the war.
48:15The agreement, which is focused on rare earth minerals,
48:17will provide the United States with access to critical resources,
48:21like uranium and lithium.
48:23But despite the economic promises,
48:25there will be no security guarantees,
48:27that will be given by the United States to Ukraine,
48:30and none of those will be included in this particular deal.
48:33Zelensky, however, has expressed optimism,
48:36and he has said that this potential,
48:38this agreement has a lot of potential.
48:40He also said that success now depends heavily,
48:43on the way Donald Trump treats this agreement.
48:55Great success, I believe,
48:57depends on our conversation with President Trump.
48:59There is no agreement that will be the next one.
49:02It will be more complicated,
49:04and more serious,
49:06because the next agreement is about the fund.
49:09And there will already be,
49:11some kind of relationship,
49:13money, etc.
49:15And here it is, the next agreement,
49:18it will already have an obligatory ratification,
49:22in the Parliament of Ukraine.
49:24President Zelensky is going to be coming on Friday,
49:27it's now confirmed,
49:29and we're going to be signing an agreement,
49:31which will be a very big agreement,
49:33and I want to thank Howard and Scott,
49:35for the job you guys did,
49:37putting it together,
49:39really did an amazing job,
49:41and that will be on rare earth,
49:43and other things.
49:45I think that,
49:47very importantly, we're going to be able to make,
49:49the previous administration put us in a very bad position,
49:52but we've been able to make a deal,
49:54where we're going to get our money back,
49:56and we're going to get a lot of money in the future.
49:58Will he have to make concessions, President Putin?
50:00Yeah, he will, he will.
50:02He's going to have to.
50:04And I think, I believe,
50:06that because we got elected,
50:09that war will come to an end.
50:11And I also believe, if we didn't get elected,
50:13if this administration didn't win the election,
50:16by a lot,
50:19that war would go on for a long time,
50:22and he would want to take the whole thing.
50:25What concession?
50:27The big question I had is, does he want to take the whole thing?
50:29But the reason,
50:31and the Ukrainians are good fighters,
50:33I have to say, but without the equipment,
50:35without our equipment,
50:37we have the best equipment in the world,
50:39we have the best military equipment in the world,
50:41without our equipment, that would have been over very quickly.
50:43What concessions would you like to see?
50:46Oh, I don't want to tell you right now.
50:48But I can tell you that
50:50NATO you can forget about.
50:53I think that's probably the reason the whole thing started.
