00:00OK, Rob, let me pick up on that with you.
00:02No big deal, or would you say that the transatlantic alliance
00:06has been upended?
00:09Well, I'd like to go midway between it.
00:13I think it's slightly more than no big deal.
00:15It's an indicator of the way things are going.
00:20Things are moving quite fast in Europe.
00:25On the back of the Macron visit to the White House,
00:29the rather surprisingly dramatic announcement
00:35by Sakhir Starmer in the House of Commons today,
00:39and there's going to be an unveiling throughout the day
00:42of a security plan long overdue, a national security
00:45strategy in the present context for the UK.
00:49And I think it's actually quite useful,
00:51because I think it rehearses what
00:54is going to come in the end of June
00:57at the NATO summit in the Netherlands,
01:00where there really will be a sorting out
01:03of the future of the alliance, where, of course,
01:08we'll be lucidized with America.
01:09America is absolutely essential to NATO,
01:13because it was at the heart of the conception of NATO.
01:16There may be different alliances or different variants of it,
01:20but I think that's the way that they're going.
