Temperatures in Cameron Highlands have increased by 0.86% over the past decade, the Dewan Rakyat was informed.
Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii informed the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Feb 26) that 2024 was also the hottest year on record in Cameron Highlands, with an average daily temperature of 18.91 degrees Celsius.
He added that the Minerals and Geoscience Department has developed a Slope Hazard Map and a National Slope Risk Map, identifying 45 critical and high-risk slopes in the area.
