00:00The Sports Clinic in the Philippines hosted the two-time Olympic medalist and figure skating world champion, Mai and Alec Shibutani.

00:09They were accompanied by the Filipino Olympic figure skater, Michael Martinez, who is believed to be able to compete with the Filipinos in the Winter Olympics.

00:17JT Soriano has the first news.

00:23In the middle of this skating rift in Pasay, there are two who are way ahead of the others.

00:30They are the siblings, Alec and Mai Shibutani, or better known as The Simpsons.

00:38They are considered to be the most expensive ice dancers in the world.

00:43They are also the two-time Olympic medalist for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia

00:50and the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea,

00:54plus three-time world medals in the World Figure Skating Championship.

00:59And why in the Philippines?

01:02To hold an ice clinic for Filipinos as a sports envoy of the U.S. State Department.

01:29And to be able to share what we've learned with the next generation is something that's so important to us.

01:35ShibSims also taught a member of the Philippine Skating Union,

01:41including national team member and sparkle artist, Kai Chua.

01:45My dream is to see them, just like that, not talk to them, I just want to see them in person.

01:51Maya also co-loved in their ice dance routine, Michael Martinez,

01:57the only Filipino to qualify for the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics.

02:03Michael believes that the day will come when more Filipinos will follow in his footsteps

02:09in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

02:12Hopefully, I think we're from the previous nationals, I think there's a couple of promising skaters.

02:18Martinez proves that he can do it, even if there's no snow and the access to the ice rink is limited.

02:27We really encourage the next generation to dream big and believe in themselves.

02:31I think the challenge of figure skating is the creativity. We do so much mental visualization.
