00:44including the claim the President will not step down once his term ends and instead declare martial law.

01:10Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin earlier long-busted former President Duterte's statement

01:20The administration remains steadfast in protecting the Constitution,

01:24upholding the Bill of Rights, and respecting civil and human rights.

01:28In a statement, Senate President Jesus Codero also defended President Marquez Jr.,

01:33emphasizing former President Duterte's claim is diametrically opposed to President Marquez's character and principles.

01:41The administration also dismissed Duterte's allegation that the Marquez family

01:46stolen and sold the country's gold reserves, causing the peso to weaken against the dollar.

01:52His question, Duterte, is this meant to be a joke or just empty promises?

01:57Just as Duterte claimed he would ride a jet ski to the Spratly Islands to plant a Philippine flag

02:03and defend the nation's rights in the West Philippine Sea.
