The new Kia EV3 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market, building on the success of its larger sibling, the Kia EV9. Designed to cater to the growing demand for compact electric vehicles, the EV3 offers a blend of affordability and advanced technology. With a price range of about $35,000 to $45,000 USD in Europe, this model is set to attract a wide range of consumers looking for a cost-effective yet feature-rich electric car. The EV3's design closely mirrors that of the EV9, featuring sleek lines and flush door handles that enhance its aerodynamic profile.
Under the hood, the Kia EV3 shares the same powertrain as the EV9, ensuring robust performance and quick charging capabilities. The vehicle can charge up to 80% in just 18 minutes using a DC fast charger, making it a practical choice for daily commutes and long-distance travel alike. Inside, the EV3 is equipped with the latest technology, including the innovative steering wheel shape, customizable driver display, and multiple drive modes such as eco, normal, sport, custom, and snow. These features not only enhance the driving experience but also provide a high level of convenience and safety.
The interior of the EV3 is designed with both functionality and comfort in mind. The center console includes useful features like downhill descent control, a parking camera, and auto hold. Additionally, a slide-out table provides extra workspace, making it ideal for those who need to work on the go or enjoy a meal in their car. The EV3's driving experience has proven to be fun and responsive, with excellent torque and smooth electric power. As Kia continues to innovate in the electric vehicle space, the EV3 stands out as a promising option for those seeking a compact, efficient, and technologically advanced electric car. The question remains: will it hit the road in the US?

00:00This is the 2025 Kia EV3.
00:05It's designed to build on the popularity of the Kia EV9,
00:08which is a runaway hit and breaking sales records,
00:12especially among EVs.
00:14We got a chance to drive the Kia EV3
00:16as a part of the World Car Awards annual test drive.
00:19This test model was brought over to the United States
00:22by Kia UK, so it's a little different
00:25than what we might see in the United States.
00:28If it even comes to the United States,
00:30but we're all hoping it will.
00:31It's really cute, it has a lot of great features,
00:34and based on the price in Europe,
00:36this will sell for between $35,000 and $45,000,
00:40so a great deal on a very clever and compact electric car.
00:44The Kia EV3 has the same powertrain as the Kia EV9.
00:48That means it can charge up to 80%
00:51at a DC fast charger in just 18 minutes.
00:54The exterior of the Kia EV3
00:57looks a lot like the Kia EV9,
00:59and that is completely intentional.
01:02The door handles fold flush into the body panels.
01:05On the rear door, we also have flush door handles,
01:08but these are more traditional.
01:09We've seen these in cars before.
01:12They just work in an analog way.
01:15Essentially a five-passenger compact version
01:18of the very popular Kia EV9,
01:20the EV3 features a lot of the same details
01:23and technology on the inside,
01:25although since this is a 2025 model,
01:27a lot of those features have actually been advanced,
01:31including the squircle steering wheel.
01:33It still has the driver assist features over here
01:36and multimedia entertainment features over here.
01:39Down here in the center is where you're gonna find
01:41the drive mode, and you can actually toggle
01:44through a number of drive modes,
01:46so eco, normal, sports, custom, and snow mode.
01:51On the driver display,
01:52which is part of this wide center screen,
01:54you'll also be able to customize the information
01:57that you see pushing a little button on the steering wheel.
02:00On the center console,
02:02you'll see some buttons for downhill descent control,
02:05parking, our parking camera, and auto hold,
02:08and then it has this nice surface here,
02:11which actually can be pulled out
02:14to provide maybe more of a desk space.
02:16So if you wanted to put a laptop here
02:18or sit and have lunch, this is a great space to do it.
02:22Like the EV9, the EV3 is a charm to drive.
02:26It's fun, it's responsive, it has great torque.
02:29The electric power is really wonderful.
02:31To know that it charges really quickly,
02:33up to 80% in 18 minutes at a DC fast charger,
02:37is another comforting element
02:39that makes driving an electric car like this a real dream.
