A new campaign, coined ‘Share for Better Care Week’ is hoped to urge patients who have used the NHS recently, to share feedback in order to improve health and social care services. It’s been reported that 9 in 10 people in England want better health and social care services, despite many not taking the time to submit feedback.

00:00The hope is to get people across England to feedback on any of their health and social
00:08care experiences, be it positive or negative, we need to know. We need to understand what
00:14people's experiences are, what their needs are, to see if we're meeting those needs.
00:19We need to know where we can make services better, make them more suitable for people,
00:23make them safer for people. But also the other side of that is that if something's going
00:28particularly well, if you've had a good experience, then we want to know that too because we can
00:32try and hopefully replicate that experience across the system to do things better overall.
00:39It's been reported that feedback to NHS leaders can help those who make decisions about care.
00:44As a result, it's been said that the clearer the feedback, the better the recommendations
00:48for improvement that can be made in the healthcare system. Dr Ranj Singh said that feedback is
00:54indispensable and as such helps to improve the quality of care.
00:59People don't readily give feedback. And one is because they may not have access to the
01:03means to do so. Two, they may not know how to do so. Two in five of us from recent research
01:10from the CQC and Healthwatch say that they don't know how to give that feedback. One
01:14in five of us say we don't have time. You know, we've all got really busy lives. We've
01:17got lots to do. So I'm here to tell you that actually your feedback is really important.
01:22It is taken seriously and we try to use it. And the more people that use this service
01:28to feedback their views and experiences, the more evidence we've got to try and affect
01:33that change. But you can do it really quickly. You just go online. It's a case of filling
01:37in a very short and simple questionnaire, a little online form that takes about three
01:43minutes to complete. So if you take a moment anytime this week or going forward, just go
01:47online on any device, fill in that questionnaire, and we can use that information to really
01:52make a massive difference. So that's why it's so, so important for us to hear from you.
