00:55At a rally held in Mandawi City, Cebu on Saturday, February 22, he says Marcos is, quote, veering
01:01towards dictatorship.
01:18On September 21, 1972, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. placed the country under martial

01:24Similarly, Duterte declared martial law in Mindanao amid the attack of Maute group members
01:28in Marawi City on May 23, 2017.
01:32Marcos' executive secretary Lucas Bersamin on February 23 calls Duterte's statement
01:36baseless and ridiculous.
01:39In a statement, Bersamin also implies the Duterte administration failed to uphold the
01:43constitution and the rule of law.
01:45Bersamin says, we will not backslide into the oppressive ways of the previous administration
01:50when critics were jailed upon trumped-up charges and when kill orders were publicly
01:54issued with glee and obeyed blindly.
01:57Organizers say the Mandawi rally was a, quote-unquote, indignation rally and not a campaign rally,
02:02meant only to decry Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment and denounce corruption, oppression,
02:07criminality, and illegal drugs.
02:10Despite this, local vets received the former president's endorsement.

02:45night in the hospital and is now resting.
02:48Pope Francis' condition remained critical for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
02:52He also had an initial, slight insufficiency in kidney function.
02:56The 88-year-old pope needed a blood transfusion on Saturday after a prolonged asthma-like

03:02He continues to have a guarded prognosis based on the latest medical report.
03:06The Vatican also says that while Francis' condition remains critical, he had not experienced
