00:00It has been a gift to create a film that tells the story of a black family just
00:08living with all the joy and pain that comes with being human. To hear people
00:17say that they recognize Pansy in their sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and aunties
00:25and even that they recognize themselves in her is a gift. Now I've lived in the
00:32US for 22 years now and I remember when I first moved out here that I bumped
00:39into a group of people who recognized me for being in something and I was kind of
00:45surprised because I was new here and they said uh-uh no we see you and I was
00:52like oh but now I've heard that on many occasions and over the years have come
01:00to realize that sometimes it's the only acknowledgement we get. So with that said
01:08I would like to thank you AFCA for your support of the film and for my
01:15performance. Thank you for seeing me.
