the winter slump has HIT over here, life is boring af, so I thought instead of doing abbbbsolutely nothing, I'd do a lil juicy q&a and talk all things: relationships, social media, friendship, mom, etc!!!!

00:00Is vlog Tara the same as off-duty Tara?
00:02Please hold.
00:02Why did you delete your old vlogs?
00:04People are saying Sarah is your new best friend and that you've replaced Jill.
00:07What has Mitch taught you regarding finance?
00:09Will you ever feel insecure that your life is not interesting enough to post as a vlog?
00:12Do you think you'll get proposed to this year?
00:14Can you give us an update on your mom?
00:20Good morning, guys.
00:21It is full-on snow day out there.
00:24Like, I'm not kidding.
00:25I haven't seen this much snow in years.
00:28It snowed all night and there's, like, I'll have to show you.
00:31It's insane.
00:32It's actually insane.
00:33It looks like a winter wonderland.
00:34I know that schools are closed today.
00:36And typically, I would, like, not touch the outside air on a day like this.
00:40Like, this is a snow day to be in and cozy.
00:42But I booked a workout class for today.
00:45And I had coordinated with another one of the girls at the studio to go with her today.
00:49And I don't have her number.
00:50I have no way of contacting her.
00:52And I would feel so bad if she showed up still and I didn't show up.
00:56So that's my number one reason for going.
00:58Number two is because I'm trying to stick to discipline over motivation.
01:02Motivation comes and goes.
01:03But I really want to, like, you know, make this a habit.
01:05I want to keep going.
01:06I also enjoy it.
01:07Like, I'm kind of looking forward to working out today.
01:10It's just the getting there aspect that I'm not overly thrilled about.
01:13Because it's gonna be a journey.
01:15It's gonna be a journey.
01:19Cheers.
01:20Now, guys, if I'm honest, the winter slump is starting to slump over here.
01:24I'm, like, sitting down trying to think of, like,
01:25interesting things I can do with my day to share and, like, film and vlog.
01:29But, like, this time of year, there's just not much going on.
01:32Like, mid-Feb, no one's doing anything.
01:35We're home.
01:36We're recharging.
01:38We're just trying to survive.
01:40So I have nothing interesting happening today.
01:42We're gonna hang.
01:42We're gonna chat.
01:43This is a Q&A day.
01:45Okay, first of all, I'm gonna show you some PR.
01:47I got this in yesterday.
01:49It's this little heart.
01:50It says, you've got a new crush.
01:52And I was like, ooh.
01:53Inside, we have Crush Soda.
01:55These little candy hearts.
01:57So cute.
01:58They seem to have come out with a sugar-free version.
02:00I used to love Crush as a kid.
02:02Like, I loved Crush.
02:03Pretty sure my favorite was the cream soda one.
02:05Like, the pink cans, if you recall.
02:07I haven't had that in years.
02:09But I loved cream soda.
02:10Oh, my God.
02:11And then I also got a package from Charlotte Tilbury.
02:14My absolute favorite.
02:15I think Charlotte Tilbury might be one of my top three favorite makeup brands.
02:19I just love so many of the products.
02:21They sent the Magic Cream.
02:22Flawless Filter.
02:23Airbrush.
02:24Flawless Finish.
02:25I love this.
02:25This is like the perfect setting powder to me.
02:27It is the most blurring and setting product.
02:31I like love that.
02:32Their mascara is also incredible.
02:34I've been using it every day and it's really good.
02:36Classic Blush Wand in Pinkgasm.
02:38Fantastic product.
02:39Pillow Top Lipstick.
02:40I love the lip liner.
02:41It's my go-to.
02:42I have a little highlighter wand.
02:44And then another setting spray.
02:45Always one of the best of the best.
02:48I also just got a package from Glow Recipe.
02:51Whoa.
02:51Watermelon Glow Dewy Flush.
02:54Brightening Tinted Cheek Serum.
02:56All-in-One Serum Primer and Highlighter.
02:58I'm very intrigued by this.
02:59I feel like I'm trying to remember if I've seen TikToks on that or if it's a different brand.
03:04That did like skincare blush.
03:05I don't know.
03:06But my face is feeling real puffy today.
03:08I'll do a little ice rolling.
03:09Okay, so I saved a lot of questions.
03:12There are a lot of questions and there's a lot that pop up more often than others.
03:17We'll start the day off with,
03:18is your life as perfect as it seems?
03:20First of all, I don't think that my life seems perfect.
03:23I don't actually intend for it to come across that way.
03:26I feel like I've shared when I go through hard times.
03:28But I also think that there are some things that I don't share.
03:31Because I feel like, I don't know, you got to have some kind of boundary.
03:34Especially as you get older.
03:35It feels weird to be like, guys, I had a fight.
03:37It just feels really immature to talk about that stuff online.
03:40But like I'm a real person and I live a very regular life with regular things going on.
03:44Regular issues.
03:45I think that I'm very blessed in a lot of ways.
03:47I made choices for myself when I was young that have set me up for my future.
03:52Which is insane because I really didn't even think that I was doing that then.
03:54But I definitely appreciate where my life is and the freedoms that I have.
03:59But outside of that, I live a very regular life.
04:02There is not a single person in the world who lives a perfect life.
04:05I don't care how much money you have, how much this you have.
04:08Everyone is a real person and everyone goes through real shit.
04:11It is so easy to compare yourself to people on the internet.
04:13But no.
04:14Sharing your life.
04:15You only can really share one side of it.
04:17Unless you know somebody personally, you'll never know somebody's full story.
04:21Even if you do, even your best friends do not know everything.
04:24So just take what you see online with honestly a grain of salt.
04:27Okay, I feel like this question goes hand in hand with that one.
04:29Is vlog Tara the same as off-duty Tara?
04:32Who is more fun?
04:33That is a really fun question.
04:34I think that I am relatively the same person that you see on the vlogs.
04:38I don't put on an act.
04:39I don't know.
04:40I am who I am.
04:41That's how my vlogs have always been.
04:43But with that being said, like there will always be sides to my personality that don't
04:47get shown here.
04:49They just wouldn't come across.
04:50Not that I'm like hiding anything.
04:51There's just differences with engaging one-on-one with somebody and having like a natural flow
04:56of conversation versus just me talking to a camera.
04:58I also feel like it can be hard to share like parts of your personality online because sometimes
05:04it just doesn't come across the same way.
05:05Like when I go out and I'm, you know, with other people, I'm the same person that I am
05:09here, but I don't have any like mental blocks of wondering like, is the internet going to
05:13interpret that the wrong way?
05:14Or like maybe I shouldn't say that out loud.
05:16I don't know.
05:16Like I feel like I do have to watch my words here so that people don't take them the wrong
05:20way.
05:20Not that what I say is controversial at all in real life.
05:23Just feel like I'm constantly having to make sure that somebody isn't offended here.
05:27And that's not to say that I'm trying to offend people.
05:29Like I can't, I don't know.
05:31There's just a much larger range of people watching here that, you know, everyone's sensitive
05:36to certain things and are triggered by certain things.
05:38And so I'm just more aware of the things that I say, like even talking about myself
05:42and my own insecurities.
05:43I don't want to trigger somebody else by sharing.
05:45Like if I'm having a body struggle day, because I'll get comments being like, well, you're
05:49small already.
05:49Like that's not true.
05:50So I'm just more aware of my words here, but I think that I'm the same person.
05:56Like this is who I am, but you'll never fully know like every aspect of somebody's personality
06:00or who they are or what they've been through.
06:02Unless you know them in person.
06:03And even then, as we've said, you still don't know everything.
06:05So I think I am as me as I can be on the internet, if that makes sense.
06:09I think we're going to try to like categorize the questions.
06:12As always, I always get like a bunch of LA themed questions.
06:15And this one, what's the wish in LA really that bad, or did you try to make it worse
06:20for the internet?
06:21I could not tell that woman to do anything.
06:23Like I could not in any way, try to make that work for the internet.
06:27I just filmed what was happening to me as I always do in my life.
06:29I have always just filmed what I've gone through.
06:32And so I was filming that and people got so upset at me for like documenting, you know,
06:35this woman's issues.
06:36But like, that's not my fault.
06:38I was getting harassed.
06:39I tried everything that I could to like not have that be an issue.
06:44But you know, also at the time I was young and I didn't really know how to communicate
06:48and I was insecure and that woman knew how to trigger me.
06:51Like she made fun of the fact that I was from Canada and that I should go back to Canada.
06:54She was a very fiery woman.
06:56Would I handle it totally different if it happened now?
06:58Yes.
06:58But I did not try to make it worse for the internet.
07:01Absolutely not.
07:02No way.
07:03Have you heard anything about witchy lately?
07:05People still ask about her and I get comments on TikTok me like,
07:08Oh my God, are you that girl with the neighbor?
07:10It feels like so long ago, but sometimes I still get DMs like very infrequently,
07:14but I think I get one like every six months, every year being like,
07:17Oh my God, I saw your neighbor videos.
07:19I actually live in the area.
07:20She's still tormenting people.
07:21She's still out there.
07:22I think she was trying to sell her house for a while,
07:24but she was selling it without an agent.
07:26I'm pretty sure.
07:27And then she took it off the market.
07:29I don't know.
07:29Anyways, I really do hope she's well.
07:30I hope that there's somebody looking out for her at the end of the day.
07:32It's very sad.
07:34Do you regret moving to LA and missing out on that time with your family?
07:37Absolutely not.
07:38I have the rest of my life with my family and I'm very thankful that I moved back when I did,
07:42but moving to LA was like everything that I ever dreamed of.
07:46Like it was everything that I wanted.
07:47And I so desperately when I was 18 wanted change.
07:51It was all I wanted.
07:52Like when I left for school originally, when I went to school in Canada,
07:55all I wanted was a fresh start.
07:56I don't know why I just really wanted freedom so badly.
07:59I mean, I guess I feel like a lot of teenagers do
08:01and they crave freedom, but I just happened to look very far to go get mine.
08:07And I loved it.
08:07I loved every second of my life in LA.
08:09There were definitely struggles and things that I would have done differently,
08:12but they shaped me to be who I am now and where I am now.
08:15And I could never regret that.
08:18Okay.
08:18I have to go upstairs actually, because I'm working on a little Valentine's Day project
08:23and I need to print out a bunch of stuff.
08:26So I'm going to go answer some emails and then bring this upstairs.
08:30I think the studio might not actually be open today.
08:40I'm talking to Maddie right now because we had dinner plans tonight,
08:43but like all of her meetings have been canceled today.
08:45It seems like a snow day in the city.
08:46Like everything's getting canceled.
08:48I don't know what to do.
08:49If I cancel the class, I'm going to get...
08:51Do you want to late cancel your booking?
08:52You may have a session deducted or be charged a fee.
08:55I don't want that.
08:56I'm going to try calling again later.
08:58Let's go upstairs.
08:59Legit, that is insane.
09:02That is insane.
09:03I can't.
09:04That's up to my knees.
09:05I don't know if you can tell.
09:08I can't go out of this.
09:12See, this right here is why I so badly want to have a craft room.
09:17That's the printer.
09:18Slightly freaked me out.
09:19I'm not going to lie to you.
09:20I just turned it on.
09:22Trying to set it up.
09:22Anyways, all my stuff is left out from the last time I was doing my crafting.
09:25And now all I want to do is get back to it.
09:27But I'm like, I have to do other things right now.
09:29I just want to have a space where I can leave my paints out.
09:31And whenever I sit down, I can just be creative and not put it away.
09:34I'm working on the room.
09:35I've been making all these mock-ups of what I want the space to look like.
09:39I also don't want to have to worry about protecting this desk.
09:42This desk is my favorite thing ever.
09:44And I don't want to ruin it.
09:45So I want to have a table that I'm not as scared of ruining.
09:49Okay.
09:49I've wanted to set this printer up for a month now.
09:51And I'm finally doing it.
09:53I haven't had a printer in years.
09:55Because I'm like, what do I need a printer for?
09:56But there's lots of crafts that I want to do that require a printer.
10:07Hi, you've reached the front desk.
10:08Please leave a message after the tone.
10:09I'm just checking in to see if the studio is open today.
10:12Obviously, the snow is insane.
10:14And I'm just not sure if my class is canceled.
10:16So if I don't hear back, I'm going to assume that it's canceled.
10:20But if not, let me know.
10:22And I will be there at 12 15.
10:24Bye.
10:25Leaving messages is so embarrassing to me.
10:27I don't know why it makes me cringe.
10:29Okay.
10:30Okay.
10:30Now I'm kind of thinking I'm probably not going.
10:32In that case, I will do an at-home workout.
10:34Because I told myself that I was working out today.
10:37So even if I'm not going to my class, which is kind of a bummer.
10:39Because they're really fun.
10:41I will still get a good workout.
10:44But I'm finishing setting up my printer first.
10:46I think I'll still plan to do the workout at like the class I had scheduled.
10:50So 12.
10:51I'm going to get back to answering questions while I cut out some of this stuff.
10:54I'm making like a cute little scrapbook.
10:57It's like super cheesy.
10:58Like I'm almost embarrassed that I'm doing this.
11:01But I think it's the thought that counts.
11:03I think we're going to go over some like social media-esque questions.
11:08Is social media income sustainable long term?
11:10Say in like 10-20 years.
11:11From the beginning, you know, people have always said that
11:14social media isn't a very stable career.
11:16It's not very reliable.
11:17You really don't know what's going to happen.
11:19Which is 100% true.
11:20Which is why I think it's really important to, you know,
11:23make good financial moves when you are doing well in social media.
11:27Like I've been obviously doing social media for a long time now.
11:30This is like my 12th year of doing social media, which is wild.
11:33When I started, the entire social media climate looked very different.
11:37It was nothing like it is today.
11:39And since I've been doing it for a long time,
11:41I've invested the money I've made while it's been doing well for me.
11:46So I have no idea if I'm still gonna have a platform in 10 years, 20 years.
11:50I mean, the thought of me being 50 doing this seems a little crazy.
11:54Like I probably won't.
11:55I mean, I don't know. I don't know what I'll be doing.
11:56I do know that I've invested my money well enough
11:59where it's not really a concern though.
12:01Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, no job is 100%.
12:04Like unless you are the owner, like you,
12:07you're relying on somebody else and hoping that it works out.
12:10So I think it's just important to make good decisions
12:13when you have that kind of money coming in.
12:15Does making your own hours ever get exhausting?
12:17Honestly, no.
12:18Like some days I definitely wish that I had somebody telling me,
12:20like get this done by this time today.
12:22And I do in theory have that when I have a brand deal and a deadline.
12:26That is when I work towards a time
12:28and I make sure I get my content in when I'm supposed to.
12:30But overall, like I'm really happy to have the flexibility that I do.
12:34I mean, look at me right now.
12:35It is 11 a.m. Thursday and I'm crafting this morning.
12:39Obviously I'm filming and this is my job.
12:41But it's days like this where I can just sit and craft and talk to you
12:45that I'm like, oh, this is the best.
12:47This is the life.
12:48So no, it 1,000% does not get exhausting.
12:51I'm very, very grateful for it.
12:53Why delete your old vlogs?
12:54Wanted to go back and watch them again.
12:56So I've definitely throughout the years gone back and deleted certain vlogs.
13:00Mostly because it's kind of weird having certain things documented
13:04and knowing that people can go back at any time and watch them.
13:06I'm like, no one needs to go watch me and my exes.
13:09Nobody needs to watch embarrassing college days.
13:12They're embarrassing.
13:13I'm embarrassed.
13:14As you get older and you realize the things you post online,
13:16sometimes it is in fact embarrassing.
13:18And knowing that people want to go back and watch them, like, eugh.
13:22Do brands pay you to go on brand trips?
13:24Sometimes.
13:25Not all the time.
13:26Like I've been on some where I am paid to post a video about it
13:30and then there's some where just like, you know,
13:31it's gifted in exchange that hopefully you post about it, which I always do.
13:36But more often than not, it is unpaid.
13:38It's just like a really cool, fun opportunity.
13:40Okay, I'm going to cut out a few more things and then I gotta get dressed.
13:45And then I gotta go journey through the snow.
13:48The thought of me actually going out there is kind of like,
13:50it's kind of funny to me because in what world?
13:52Like when you see what it looks like out there, it's going to be a journey.
13:56So I've given myself five extra minutes to walk there
13:59because it's going to take a little longer.
14:00I got this new set off Revolve.
14:02I think it is so cute.
14:04I will link it down below.
14:06There are two main reasons I want to go today.
14:08Well, there's three, okay?
14:09Number one, I would feel really bad if my new workout friend went
14:12and then I didn't show up.
14:13I'd feel really bad about that.
14:14Two, I have some errands to run.
14:16Like I actually have things that I need to get out in the world
14:18and it would be really nice if I could just get them done with now.
14:20And three, I would in fact like to work out,
14:22but that is the lowest of the list so that I can work out at home.
14:26Anyways, we're going.
14:27It's going to be kind of fun.
14:28I think it's going to be funny.
14:29Let's go.
14:33Oh my God, okay.
14:37Holy shit.
14:38Okay, I'm starting to feel like this is not a good idea.
14:44I think I'm turning around.
14:48It's like, this is dangerous.
14:50There's no sidewalk.
14:52I don't think so.
14:54I tried.
14:55Okay, that was a nice outing.
15:01Probably get it tomorrow.
15:02I can't believe I really thought that I was going to do that.
15:04Honestly, I thought that the sidewalks would be a little bit more smushed down.
15:07I saw one other person walking and she was walking just right in the road.
15:10There are cars driving.
15:11Like it's actually, it's just dangerous.
15:14I was like, I could call an Uber to take me there.
15:16You know, it's like not that far.
15:17But like, I didn't want to call an Uber to each of the destinations
15:20that I need to go to to pick up things.
15:22So I'm just not going to go.
15:23I'm going to call them back and say, I like cannot make it.
15:26I think even driving, it's just like unsafe on roads like that.
15:29Like it's just not, they need to be,
15:31on roads like that.
15:32Like it's just not, they need to be plowed.
15:37Hi, this is Tara Massacote calling back.
15:39I was on my way, but the roads are just way too slippery and dangerous
15:43that I don't think I'm going to get to make it today.
15:47Perfect.
15:47Thank you very much.
15:50Bye.
15:50I really was going to go.
15:51I was going to go.
15:52So I'm going to do a workout.
15:53Not nearly as fun.
15:55I really like the classes, but I literally couldn't make it.
15:58I really hope my workout friend had the same idea
16:00and that she's staying home.
16:01It's crazy.
16:04I think I'm going to do 24 minute.
16:05Toned abs and arms.
16:08Everyone's favorite.
16:09Big full inhale.
16:10Reach those arms up overhead.
16:13Leaving everything at the door.
16:15Okay.
16:16That was really simple.
16:16Didn't really get very sweaty, but like the burn was burning.
16:19I think for lunch, I'm going to have some chicken and then,
16:25I don't know.
16:25I'm going to make tacos.
16:27Just like simple little chicken tacos.
16:29We have spinach, chicken, cheese.
16:31I tried melting the cheese, but it doesn't seem to want to melt.
16:33Honestly, sometimes I'm like, how the heck am I cooking chicken?
16:36Like it's like, it's so good too.
16:40The way it took me 29 years to get over this fear.
16:43Like, I don't care how we got here.
16:46I don't care how long it took.
16:48I'm just glad we made it.
16:50Okay.
16:50We're going to do a little salsa.
16:51Do I have salsa?
16:52I don't have salsa.
16:53So it's just going to be, oh, I can't forget the avocado.
16:57Okay.
16:57Because apparently I have no salsa.
16:59We top with chili onion crunch, which is going to be amazing.
17:01Let's try it.
17:02And then I got to go shower.
17:03I'm also going to do a hair mask, like a color mask, just to deepen up the color.
17:07Tried it once a few weeks ago and it was good.
17:10I'll show you when I go upstairs, but cheers.
17:14Okay.
17:15Here is the Stop This Wella color mask in cool espresso.
17:19This actually works and it's like not red tinted,
17:21which is my issue with most color depositing masks.
17:24It washes out in like three or four washes, but it actually works.
17:27So I'm going to use that.
17:29And have a nice hot shower.
17:30Letting my hair air dry.
17:32And we're just about there.
17:33It's like 90% dry.
17:35I feel like you can tell.
17:36You can tell pretty much immediately the difference.
17:38So for any brunettes that are looking for a little touch up, I will link the mask down below.
17:43And I'm going to blow up my hair the rest of the way.
17:53Okay.
17:54That is much better.
17:55The color is like my perfect brown.
17:57Actually, it's pretty much the same color as my roots.
17:59I don't put the mask on my roots.
18:01And I'm trying not to dye it at all.
18:02Like this is the most I'll do to get this color back.
18:05I just really don't want to damage it.
18:06And I feel like every time I've been dyeing it, it bleaches it slightly.
18:10And then, you know, just it's going to take longer and longer to get it to be completely natural.
18:15So we will stick to the color masks for now.
18:18I'm going to do some skincare.
18:19Figure we can answer some more questions while we do so.
18:21We'll do some quick ones.
18:22Do you have a goal of overcoming your fear of driving?
18:24Yes.
18:25I will 1000% in my lifetime get over this fear.
18:29Right now, I have no desire.
18:31I have no need to drive.
18:32Like yes, sure, it would provide me more freedom.
18:35But I don't feel like I don't have freedom at all.
18:39It's not like I have a job that I have to drive and commute to.
18:41Like I am fairly confident my car will be sitting in the garage like 95% of the time.
18:46I also know how to drive.
18:47Like I took all my lessons.
18:48I did it all.
18:49I just am not interested in driving right now.
18:51People seem to have such a problem with that.
18:52But it is what it is.
18:55Love you, but why haven't you changed the frame in your office?
18:57It's actually so funny how often I get asked about the frames in my office.
19:01It's because I think I've never actually liked them.
19:02Like I don't think that I like the way that looks.
19:05I think I liked the idea of it.
19:06And then when it was on the wall, I was like, I don't know.
19:09So I haven't had a desire to like go through and figure out what I want to put in those frames
19:12because I will more than likely replace them.
19:14I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with the office and then the new, you know,
19:18spare bedroom.
19:18What do I want to do?
19:19I'm going to put on a little soft tan.
19:21Yeah.
19:21So I will eventually, you know, figure something out and I will put photos in all my frames.
19:25But it's just not top priority.
19:28It's kind of funny you've been saying that because it's been like that for like three years.
19:31At some point, I will have to make it a priority.
19:34People are saying Sarah's your new best friend and that you've replaced Jill.
19:38Guys, let's just take a moment to think about that.
19:40Put some thought into it.
19:41I live in Toronto.
19:42Jill lives in LA.
19:43I'm not going to not have friends in Toronto.
19:45And also you can have more than one best friend.
19:47You can have so many best friends.
19:49We are all adults.
19:50Nobody is getting replaced.
19:51We just live in different countries.
19:52Like I just, I don't know what to say.
19:54Have you ever struggled with body issues?
19:56Like not being comfortable in your body, etc.
19:58Yes.
19:59I am a girl.
20:00We all go through it.
20:01I, you know, look at my arms.
20:02I look at my side profile.
20:03I look at my double chin.
20:04I, you know, I see myself all the time because I film and I edit my life.
20:08I have most certainly gone through body struggles and body image issues in my head.
20:13We literally all have our own set of insecurities.
20:16We're all human.
20:17You know, I feel like it's natural.
20:18It's normal.
20:19I would be lying to you if I said I didn't, you know.
20:22I think it's a lot harder when you're younger and you're constantly comparing yourself and
20:25you're looking at people on social media.
20:27I mean, I grew up in like the early 2000s when normal women had regular bodies and they
20:31were called fat.
20:32You know, like the fat shaming was insane.
20:34That's what I was subjected to growing up.
20:36I remember taking like skinny pills in the bathroom in high school, like not even high
20:41school.
20:41It was grade seven.
20:42It was weight loss pills in grade seven.
20:44I was what, 14.
20:45Obviously don't do that.
20:46Like it's really bad for you.
20:48I'm really, really glad that the world has shifted from that point of view into like
20:52really trying to become more of an accepting generation of people's bodies.
20:57Like it's just insane.
20:58It's insane to me.
20:59I feel like society still struggles with accepting everyone for who they are, but I think it's
21:04a lot better than it used to be at the very least.
21:06Um, have you been balancing your friendships well while dating like you wanted to?
21:10I personally think that I have.
21:12I think I spend a lot of time with my friends still.
21:14I feel like I had a really perfect balance when I was single and like I didn't have an
21:17extra person to juggle into, you know, my priority list.
21:20So it took a second to figure out how to balance it all again, but I truly believe that I have
21:25that now.
21:26Talk to my friends every day.
21:27I see a friend like at least once a week.
21:29I have time to myself a couple of times a week.
21:32Obviously get to see Ryan and yeah, I think I have figured out balance.
21:36Obviously life changes and sometimes that balance gets a little out of whack, but I
21:40think right now I'm feeling very well balanced.
21:42Mostly because I feel like with it being winter and so cold, people are kind of just doing
21:46their own thing and I have a lot of time to myself and like people are going out out.
21:51So I'm just really on the recharge train at the moment.
21:54Will you convince Jill to move to Canada?
21:56No, that is not my place to convince her to move to a different country and go through
22:00that whole process.
22:01I will not convince a single person to make a massive move like that.
22:05Of course it would be amazing if she did live here, but that is up to her and Connor to
22:09decide for themselves.
22:10It is not on me.
22:11I would never ever push someone to do that.
22:13That's crazy.
22:14What has Mitch taught you regarding finance?
22:16Investments, emergency funds.
22:18Basically just to invest, invest, invest, invest, invest as much as possible.
22:21I have tons of different types of investments that I've had for years now.
22:24My biggest one is a GIC.
22:26Basically I'm locked in for a year on a certain amount of interest that I get from having
22:29my money in this account and that is an income in itself.
22:32Like it's just make your money, make money.
22:35That has been what he has drilled into me for years now and truly it is the one thing
22:40that makes me feel very comfortable in this world.
22:42If everything goes to shit, I can rely on my investments and that is a very, very good
22:46feeling.
22:47I think investing as young as possible and really getting that ball going is the best
22:50thing you can do.
22:51I have a couple of different stocks, but most of my investments are very safe.
22:55Like they're not going to be the massive ones that you're making like crazy money
22:58on, but they're stable and they're, you know, reliable, which is what we're going
23:01for.
23:02I am very, very thankful for my dad who has helped teach me about all of this and like
23:06put my money in the right accounts and set me up the way that he has.
23:10Very, very appreciative.
23:11Without him, I truly would have no idea what I was doing.
23:13Actually, if you know, I didn't have a dad that was very knowledgeable about this stuff,
23:17I would probably hire a financial advisor.
23:19I think it's important to know and to get your money in the right spots instead of having
23:22your money sit in a checking account or even just savings.
23:25Like there are so many other options.
23:27Um, when did you have your first boyfriend?
23:29I was 16.
23:30Actually, it might've been 15 when we first started dating.
23:33We dated for a year and a half.
23:34Yeah, I was, I think it was almost 16 and then we broke up when I was in senior year
23:38of high school.
23:39Will you ever feel insecure that your life is not interesting enough to post as a vlog?
23:43Literally all the time.
23:44Guys, I don't think that my life is that exciting at all.
23:48Like right now my life is pretty damn boring, but like, I like it this way.
23:52I like the simple life.
23:53I like sitting at home.
23:54I like making food at home.
23:56I think that's, what's really nice about social media is that there are so many different
24:00types of people and content that you can consume.
24:03You know, I got a comment on my morning routine vlog just said boring.
24:06I'm like, you know what?
24:07You're not wrong.
24:08But like, I just, I think that people have the choice of who they want to watch.
24:12And if I'm boring to somebody, that is so fine.
24:15That is so fair.
24:16I'm boring to me too.
24:17But you know, there's also a lot of people that like the boring life and relate to, you
24:21know, wanting to sit at home and have a cozy night.
24:23There are so many different types of people out there.
24:25And I think it is one of the most beautiful things about sharing your life on the internet,
24:29regardless of how interesting it is, is that through time you like build a community of
24:33like-minded people.
24:34It's so cool.
24:34So while I most certainly do not think that my life is most interesting by any means,
24:38I'm still here.
24:39We're still hanging out, you know, whatever it may be.
24:42And hopefully, you know, some of you watching this enjoy the simple life too.
24:46And just want to like sit and hang out, you know, sit on the couch and watch a silly little
24:51YouTube video.
24:51Okay.
24:52Last question for now.
24:53And then we will pop back in when I'm having leftovers for dinner.
24:56I know you stopped weed and you're happy, but like, do you miss it at all?
24:59Okay.
24:59So context, I used to love LLJ, you know, before Beth.
25:05It was a really bad habit.
25:06I'm not going to lie to you.
25:07And I wanted to cut it out of my life for years, like for so long, but I couldn't because
25:13I was like, oh, it's so peaceful.
25:15But then at the beginning of 2024, I was like, no, I do not want to be this kind of person.
25:19I don't want to rely on anything to fall asleep or to relax me.
25:23I want to like figure out how to balance myself.
25:25And so I just completely cut it cold turkey, December 31st.
25:29And I do not miss it at all.
25:31I don't even think about it.
25:32Like I can't even believe that that was my life for so long.
25:36I don't even think twice.
25:37And I don't think I'll ever, ever have weed ever again, because I'm like nervous that
25:40if I did, I'd be like, oh, this is fantastic.
25:43I don't think that I need it at all.
25:44And so I don't really see the point in having, you know, sneaky LLJ.
25:50Okay.
25:51It is time for my leftovers.
25:53Leftover Thai food.
25:55It's going to hit so hard.
25:56Okay.
25:57We have some veg, cow soy, and rice.
26:00I just heated it all up right in here.
26:02I've literally been crafting all afternoon.
26:04It's kind of been great.
26:05Like the perfect snow day vibe.
26:07Very like peaceful.
26:08Some light music.
26:09Okay.
26:10Let's see.
26:10Back to our questions.
26:12On the topic of relationships, are you afraid of living with your boyfriend, sharing your
26:15space and time?
26:17I'm not like afraid necessarily.
26:19I'm definitely a little nervous because I've never actually lived with somebody.
26:23I've never officially lived with someone a thousand percent.
26:26Like in the past, I've, you know, spent a lot of time with somebody, but it was never
26:31like official living situation, figuring out how to actually cohabitate.
26:36And like, this is our home.
26:37I've never had that before.
26:38So it's definitely like a new experience that kind of scares me.
26:42This is so good.
26:43I have to have a bite.
26:44So I'm not like afraid.
26:44Like I definitely want to, and I definitely think that we will live together this year,
26:48which is crazy, but I'm sure it's going to be an adjustment.
26:51But I also think it's going to be so fun.
26:53Like always having him here.
26:55I love it.
26:55Like, it'll be great.
26:56But you know, new stuff, new territory, it'd be crazy.
26:59Are you going to sell your house when you get married or will you continue to live here?
27:03I have no idea, you know, like maybe, maybe not.
27:06Like, I don't think me selling this house is dependent on marriage.
27:10You know, we'll see what happens with the market.
27:11If we want to move at any point, I don't think it would be necessary, but like maybe,
27:16I don't know, one step at a time.
27:17Do you think you'll get proposed to this year?
27:19The amount of people asking me if I'm getting engaged this year is actually shocking to me.
27:23I'm like, I'm kind of of the mind, like unless someone's living together,
27:26that that question shouldn't be, I don't know.
27:28I've always believed in living together before, you know, taking that step.
27:32Like I want to make sure I can live with the person before, you know,
27:36legally binding myself to them.
27:37I've never, ever thought that I would get like engaged before living with a partner,
27:41but I guess a lot of people don't like live by that.
27:44I don't know.
27:45But yeah, no, I do not think that there will be a proposal this year.
27:48I don't think it's on the 2025 agenda.
27:50Favorite thing to do alone versus with boyfriend?
27:54Um, I don't know.
27:55Like there's nothing that I do alone that I couldn't do with him,
27:58but I guess like taking a bath and reading my book.
28:01I guess that's it.
28:02Like more reading time.
28:03Okay, I think I'm going to go downstairs, watch my vampire diaries,
28:06like one episode, finish my dinner, and then FaceTime Maddie,
28:09because since we're not getting dinner tonight, we'll do a catch up over FaceTime.
28:12And then we will finish off with a final few questions.
28:16I feel like this is gonna be a long video.
28:18Can you give us an update on your mom?
28:21First of all, thank you so much to all of you that reach out to me.
28:25Like not when I'm just doing a Q&A and asking about her,
28:27asking how she's doing, just checking in.
28:29It is so kind.
28:31So for starters, my mom's doing great.
28:33She was cleared, I think two days ago for travel and things seem to be good.
28:39So I haven't talked about this because I,
28:42I felt so vulnerable after the fact,
28:45posting like live reaction to my mom's surgery in September.
28:49I was like on a really weird autopilot mode during that time.
28:53And looking back, I felt uncomfortable with how open I was.
28:57And I know a lot of people were very appreciative of it, but it felt very raw.
29:01And so second time around,
29:03I really didn't know if I wanted to talk about it until after the fact.
29:06So ultimately I decided to not talk about it.
29:08But after Costa Rica, my mom had to get another surgery.
29:11Basically after the first surgery, my mom was still struggling with her breathing.
29:15And they discovered there was a leak and her lungs kept filling up with fluid.
29:18And so she went in for another surgery after Costa Rica, which we knew was happening.
29:22So Costa Rica was just like really,
29:24really nice for all of us to be together and enjoy each other.
29:27So she had that surgery and then that surgery was unsuccessful.
29:31So the following week she had to get another surgery.
29:33And so I was trying to be at the hospital as much as I could.
29:36And my dad was there obviously every day.
29:37It was just like a whole thing.
29:38And I was like, this is like deja vu.
29:41It felt very, very strange to be back at the hospital,
29:44like in the car with my dad waiting to hear my mom was out of surgery.
29:46And it was just like, there's been a lot going on.
29:50But I'm very happy to say that this most recent surgery,
29:54like second one, seems to have been successful.
29:56And she's doing great and she's cleared.
29:58And she shouldn't have to think about the hospital
30:01or doctors for at least a few months, which is fantastic.
30:05My parents and Brady are trying to go to Florida ASAP,
30:08get some sun and get, you know,
30:10some distance from the shit post Costa Rica.
30:12So yeah, I'm very hopeful that she will never,
30:16ever, ever, ever, ever, ever have to go through any more time in the hospital
30:20because it's not a nice place to be.
30:23And obviously like anxiety and whatnot.
30:25But she's doing great.
30:26Everyone's doing great.
30:27And we're moving on.
30:29And hopefully this is the last of it.
30:31My mom would just be good because that is a lot.
30:35To follow that up, how is your mental health doing lately?
30:38Now that my mom's good, it's much better.
30:40It's definitely been up and down all year.
30:43It's been actually crazy.
30:45This year has been a wild ride so far.
30:47And we're just halfway through the second month.
30:49Like it has been crazy.
30:52I think after this weekend with Valentine's Day and anniversary,
30:55like the chaos should slow down, I think.
30:57It's kind of funny because it's been chaos,
31:00but it's also been like nothing is happening.
31:02Like I don't know how to explain it.
31:04So much is happening, but also nothing at all.
31:08Anyways, this is where I'm going to leave you for today.
31:10I'm going to curl myself into bed, read my book.
31:13I'm on Queen of Shadows for our last series for anyone that's wondering.
31:16I hope you enjoyed this very chatty vlog.
31:19I hope you enjoyed hanging out with me today because I enjoyed it myself.
31:22Thank you for hanging out.
31:23I love you and I wish you all the best.
31:25I hope that you are getting through the winter blues.
31:27We're so close to the end.
31:29You know, one more month.
31:30Things are going to look a lot better.
31:32It's going to be dark later.
31:33The weather should warm, hopefully.
31:36Anyways, I love you so much.
31:37Thank you for being here.
31:38Thank you for caring.
31:40And I will see you in the next vlog.
31:43Bye.
31:59Bye.
