00:00NFA Rye was sent to several local governments through Food Terminal Incorporated.

00:05The guidelines of their LGU for the reselling of NFA Rye will be released soon.

00:14The Department of Agriculture turned over to several local government units

00:18the rice of the National Food Authority through Food Terminal Incorporated.

00:23Aside from food security,

00:25their goal is to expand the NFA's warehouses to allow local farmers to enter.

00:32These are the bags of NFA Rye that were released to the local government units

00:37showing their interest to purchase NFA Rye

00:41following the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice.

00:45Currently, 67 LGUs have been recognized by the FDI to become NFA Rye distributors.

00:52The initial withdrawal of NFA Rye from the Valenzuela warehouse is 1,000 sacks.

00:56NFA Rye is sold for P33 per kilo to LGUs

01:00while it can be sold to LGUs, government agencies, and GOCs

01:05for P35 per kilo.

01:08The local government of San Juan City and Camarines Sur decided

01:12that they will not allocate P2 for logistics.

01:17Therefore, they will keep P3 for the rice they sell to the public.

01:21The NFA Rye will be rolled out to the said LGUs on Monday.

01:24The DA will allow the reselling of NFA Rye

01:27but it should be sold for P2 per kilo for P33.

01:32The LGUs will issue guidelines for this.

01:35The NFA Rye target is 150 metric tons to be sold by the DA within six months.

01:41Aside from this, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

01:45has set up a large fund to buy rice from local farmers.

01:48We agreed with the NFA Council that we will buy rice this year, 2025

01:54for a minimum of P23 per kilo

01:57and it can reach P30 per kilo depending on the market.

02:01Our beloved President, President Bongbong Marcos,

02:06also offered P9 billion to buy rice from our farmers.

02:12This is an additional fund since last year.

02:15The campaign period for the upcoming election is in line with March.

02:18The DA is already coordinating with Comelec

02:21so that LGUs can apply for the Comelec exemption for the sale of NFA Rye.

02:26Metro Manila Council and Camarines Sur LGU

02:29assured that they will not use cheap NFA Rye for politics.

02:33Meanwhile, DA Secretary Francisco Trujillo-Aurel Jr.

02:37clarified that the book that was found in Kadiwa Store in Kelson City is an isolated case.

02:42The selling was halted because we saw a small amount of rice the next day.

02:47But then we did not know, we investigated,

02:49why the sale was continued when it was actually stopped.

02:54The DA will be more strict in monitoring the rice being sold following the incident.
