00:00So I guess this is the battle for second place in the NBA's MVP. It's been Shea Gilgis Alexander.
00:05He was like minus 250 a couple months ago. Then last month it was three to one. I mean,
00:09it's now up to minus 440 here. So unless you're finding some sort of futures parlay bet,
00:14I don't know why anybody would lay 440 to win a hundred, you know, barring something happening.
00:19But I guess Gilbert with the new rules, he's got to qualify by playing a certain amount of games.
00:23That's the only thing stopping him, right? Right. Exactly. The new rules. I think you have to play
00:27in at least 65 games to qualify for end of season awards like MVP. He's only missed one game this
00:33season and that Shea Gilgis Alexander is only this one game this season. So his availability has been
00:37a great ability for him and he's having the best year of his career for the team with the NBA's
00:41best record. So the odds are very much reflective of that. But honestly, I do think that there's
00:45still enough time, maybe just a little bit of enough time for him to not necessarily be out
00:50of the woods yet. Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets are hot right now. They've won eight games in a row.
00:55They're right there toward the top of the Western Conference. Jokic is averaging a 30-point triple
01:00double and voter fatigue is a real thing. But there is a chance for him to maybe go on a hot tear,
01:06go on a stretch that maybe opens the conversation back up a little bit. I wouldn't say Shea's
01:10completely out of the woods just yet.
