Tobi and BMitch react to an article saying the Commanders are a candidate to take a step back in 2025. They believe while Washington may not win as many games, Jayden Daniels and company should still have a great season.

00:00but we're already getting this article. This is from February 15th and this is from CBS
00:05Sports and Jeff Kerr and it says five NFL teams poised to take a major fall in 2025
00:12and who's the big picture of Jaden Daniels. You already knew that this was going to be a narrative
00:19be Mitch. I just did because they're going to say, well, they won all these games late in the year.
00:23They were on the last play of the game and this and that and this and that.
00:27Yeah. Miss me with that, man. Well, I think overall, normally when you have such a great year,
00:33it's just natural in football. It's not natural. It's a natural tendency that you don't
00:36play the exact same way, but there are teams that have done it. Okay. The Eagles are from 2000 to
00:43what? 2001, two, three, something like that. They were winning 10, 11, 12 games all the time.
00:48You saw the Patriots do it forever. Kansas City does it a lot. And you know why? Because they
00:53don't sit still. They improve their team as much as they possibly can in multiple positions.
00:59I think a lot of people are thinking that this team is going to, I look at it like this. They
01:04did a lot of this stuff without having the team that they really are going to have when they
01:09finish their bill. 100%. So when you win 12 games, it's easy to say they're going to fall off.
01:16What if they win 11 next year? Is it really a fall off? Well, and I think that's a good point.
01:20So I want to read this from CBS. It says year one under Jaden Daniels was better than anything
01:25that the commanders could have anticipated. Washington won 12 games in Daniel's first
01:29season, including the only team to beat the super bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles since
01:33October began. Then they won consecutive playoff games on the road and reached the
01:37NFC championship game. It says the commanders are a conference title contender and have a
01:42franchise quarterback in Daniels, but it's going to be hard to replicate last season success.
01:46They still have to play the Eagles twice. They have the lions on the schedule while playing
01:51five teams that won double digit games on the road slate. So the schedule is going to be harder
01:55next year. There's a question also says, even if Daniels plays well, it's hard to win 12 games,
01:59go to the conference championship. The commanders may have a better roster in 2025, but still may
02:04not replicate what they accomplished this season. And so to me, this is where I kind of think this
02:08is what you were alluding to. I agree. Am I saying they're going to win 13 games next year? No,
02:14if they win 11 games, 10 games, it's technically a step back, but the roster might be better,
02:20right? The teams you're playing are better. Sure. Okay. If you win 10 or 11, I don't see it as a
02:27step back. No. You know, like, like I know they were looking at the, uh, Texans. They're still
02:33in the playoff, aren't they? Well, and they want to play and they want to gain. That's what they
02:37did last year. This might be the better question. And this is early in the off season. So there's
02:42still plenty of work to be done, but what is, what, what do they have to accomplish next year
02:47to say? Okay. They didn't take a step back. Is it simply get to the playoffs? Is it when a playoff
02:52game? I need to say I'm in the playoffs for not to be a step back for me. I agree on that. But,
02:57but what I'm saying is how do you get there? You know, um, like people go, well, they won all
03:03them games in the last second. Well, you should give them credit for that. They were able to
03:08stand it to the end. How about, um, Kansas city, they won how many? 12 in the last, in the last
03:17possession. Yeah. I think it was what they went like 17th grade. So we, uh, people try and knock
03:23that when you should be praising it.
