00:00Hi, I'm Andrew Bower. I've been a member of Virgis Hill Running Club since 2011 and I also help out at Virgis Hill Community Food Bank, which do a wonderful job in supporting the local community.
00:14And so it seemed to me a really good opportunity to tie, to link both things together.
00:20So we had the idea of a food bank run and donate. And the idea is that we've run to the food bank with some items of food to donate and we've had an enjoyable run but we've also been able to help out the food bank.
00:36And being part of the local community, it was an ideal opportunity to do what we could to support them.
00:43We're part of Virgis Hill Community Food Bank. We are an independent food bank, so not part of the local trust. And we wouldn't be here without the help of our community.
00:52So Virgis Hill Runners have just done an amazing run with different cans and things like that for a donation and you may have seen the trolley full of donations that they've given us.
01:03So we're very grateful for that. It comes in, the depot team will date check it all and put it on the shelves in the various different areas and then the depot team will also create a crate of food.
01:16Now this crate of food, this started off when nutritionists advised us what was applicable for a three days worth of food and we put that crate together and that will feed two adults for three days.
01:29Now a primary school and younger child is counted as half an adult and so obviously if the family size is different then they get a different amount of crates.
01:39We also have some frozen food because obviously there's a lot more vitamins and stuff like that still in the vegetables when they're frozen and so our clients get a choice of a limited amount of frozen food.
