As the first electoral battle in the US presidential election played out last week, Donald Trump cemented his hold on the Republican Party with a massive win in the Iowa caucuses, leaving his opponents far, far behind.
Even though Iowa does not historically determine who becomes President of the United States, the victory is significant as it strengthens the perception that Trump is the clear front runner for the Republican nomination.

00:00It was a decisive win for Donald Trump in the Iowa caucuses last week, and his cancels,
00:09that means he's well on his way back to being in the White House.
00:13Not quite yet, because there are still a number of contests, a number of twists and turns
00:17that could lie ahead.
00:18For one, there are a number of legal challenges that Trump is facing to his candidacy.
00:23The US Supreme Court will be looking at that from next month.
00:26Secondly, Iowa historically has not determined who the next president of the United States
00:30will be.
00:31And thirdly, there are a number of other contests, as I said, which could slow down his juggernaut.
00:36For example, New Hampshire, which is the next contest, where you have more educated, more
00:41moderate and a number of independent voters as well who can participate, and a place where
00:45Nikki Haley might actually just pull it off.
00:47We'll have to wait and see.
00:49However, it's also true that Trump has consistently polled ahead of all other Republican candidates
00:54amongst Republican voters in every survey that's been done.
00:58So barring any shock surprises, he may just well end up on the ticket and could end up
01:04beating President Biden, in which case, many people are already asking the question, what
01:09would a second Trump presidency look like?
01:12Well, if you saw the first round, then you know that the second could potentially bring
01:17even more chaos, not just to the United States, but to America's relationship with many of
01:24its key allies and friends in the rest of the world.
