00:00It's so good to see you.
00:02Isn't it, Prue?
00:04I'm speechless.
00:05Welcome to MissMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times an actor
00:09revealed some juicy, hilarious, or shocking behind-the-scenes tea about a co-star.
00:14If Sarah Jessica Parker watches this, what would your message to her be?
00:17I think that's pretty clear.
00:2110. Cloris Leachman, Amateur Hairstylist
00:25This Oscar winner was in show business for almost 80 years.
00:28Needless to say, there are probably countless stories we'll never hear.
00:32But one lives on courtesy of Cloris Leachman's co-stars
00:35on shows like Raising Hope and Girl Meets World.
00:38I know you think I need little poochie like you to tell me joke isn't funny.
00:42In old country I had variety show.
00:45It was called Mrs. Swarski's Not-So-Happy Hour.
00:49On a Rewatch podcast, Topanga actress Danielle Fishel
00:53mentioned how someone told her to hide her locks
00:55because Leachman had once cut an actress's hair off.
00:58She didn't say who, though.
01:00They had to do extensions and the whole thing.
01:03And I bet Cloris Leachman didn't get fired.
01:05Because Cloris Leachman don't give a...
01:07She does not.
01:09The story was repeated by her Raising Hope co-stars
01:11during a 2021 reunion over Zoom.
01:14This time, the actors said it was Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff
01:17who had a guest appearance on the show in 2013.
01:21Hilary was like having her makeup touched up
01:23and Cloris just kind of walked up quietly
01:26and Hilary looked at me like, what's this woman doing?
01:29Number nine, Kate Winslet does improv with Harvey Keitel.
01:32I just wanted to maybe work on something together with you, Kate.
01:36And I'm going, OK, yeah, fine. It's Harvey Keitel.
01:38Anything you want.
01:39Acting is kind of a weird profession when you think about it.
01:42And the masters of the craft have very different processes.
01:45While filming Jane Campion's Holy Smoke in the late 90s,
01:48Harvey Keitel wanted to do an improvisation exercise
01:52with co-star Kate Winslet to establish more intimacy.
01:55He asked that she play out a scenario where he was her dog
01:58and she is trying to comfort him as he passes away.
02:01So I'm literally going...
02:04And the hidden camera is where and what is my name?
02:10Winslet was game but found herself at a loss
02:12while Keitel mimicked the whimpers of the pet.
02:15Her hilarious recreation of his performance
02:17is an acting masterclass in itself.
02:20Oh, no.
02:22Poor dog.
02:24Hidden camera.
02:26Oh, Harvey. Oh, shush, Harvey dog.
02:30Harvey dog, shush.
02:34Oh, no. Oh, look.
02:37It's Harvey dog, dead. Harvey, dead.
02:40Oh, well, that was helpful.
02:42Number eight, Janet Hubert and Will Smith make peace.
02:45When The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air returned for its fourth season,
02:48the actress portraying Will Smith's Aunt Viv did not.
02:52You know, Miss Banks, since you had that baby,
02:55there's something different about you.
03:02Indeed, Janet Hubert was recast.
03:05A feud between the stars was reported at the time
03:07and Hubert's side of the story was well-documented,
03:10but Smith publicly owned up to his culpability in 2020,
03:14with the two reuniting in time for the show's 30th anniversary
03:17to talk through their tension.
03:19Everything was a threat to me.
03:22Why was I a threat?
03:24Not you, the world.
03:26I was so driven by fear and jokes and comedy and all of that.
03:31Yeah, you were, you were live.
03:33They were able to pass through their experiences together.
03:36It was a profound moment of forgiveness
03:38that millions of fans had been waiting for.
03:40I could not do a 30-year celebration of this show
03:50and not celebrate you,
03:54celebrate your contribution to this show,
03:56celebrate your contribution to my life.
03:597. Jane Fonda gives an acting lesson
04:01We rehearsed once, and then we just started shooting.
04:08And it was kind of great.
04:09I didn't do exactly what I'd done in the rehearsal on the first take,
04:14but second take, I thought, well, I'll try something else.
04:17I'm feeling alive. I'm feeling really good here.
04:20Every legend starts somewhere.
04:22Meryl Streep began her feature film career
04:24with the 1977 historical drama, Julia.
04:27Streep was very, very green
04:29when it came to movie acting at this point.
04:31Thankfully, she had Jane Fonda as a scene partner
04:34and got a few pointers from the two-time Oscar winner herself.
04:37You put your arm around me
04:39and like a big sister walked me into movie making.
04:43Apparently, Streep's theatre training
04:45had made her a bit too free on set.
04:48Fonda had to catch her up on some of the fundamentals
04:51of working on camera.
04:53That green tape on the floor, that's you.
04:57That's your mark.
05:02And if you land on it, you will be in the light
05:05and you will be in the movie.
05:06Streep took the acting lesson,
05:08and needless to say, she ran with it.
05:10Number six, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer's mutual crush.
05:14For roughly a decade,
05:15Ross and Rachel made Friends viewers crazy
05:18with their on-again, off-again romance.
05:20But during the show's reunion special for Max,
05:23the actors behind those characters
05:24made some confessions of their own.
05:26I had a major crush on Jen.
05:29Um, I...
05:31And I think we both, at some point,
05:34we were both crushing hard on each other,
05:36but it was like two ships passing
05:38because one of us was always in a relationship.
05:42Though the two never got together in real life,
05:44they both carried a torch from the very first season.
05:47Still, they maintained
05:48that nothing ever happened off the set.
05:50I remember saying one time to David,
05:53it's gonna be such a bummer
05:54if the first time you and I actually kiss
05:57is gonna be on national television.
06:01Sure enough!
06:02Their first kiss was indeed in front of the cameras.
06:05Hearing the actors talk about their crushes
06:07just makes Friends fans want to go back
06:09and watch the whole series again.
06:11You know, to catch all the subtext.
06:13I mean, it's just that, uh, that dress, uh...
06:18Well, I hope the ends of these sentences are good.
06:21No, they're good.
06:22It's just been a while since I've seen you like this.
06:24You clean up good.
06:26Number five, Betty White on Bea Arthur.
06:29The Golden Girls were four best friends
06:30who ate more cheesecake
06:32and had more dates than people half their age.
06:34But things weren't completely hunky-dory on set.
06:37Can we really just tell what she really is like?
06:39It's not easy, David.
06:40It is not easy to work with that woman.
06:42She is, she makes my life sheer hell.
06:46Betty White,
06:47who played the lovably air-headed Rose Nylund,
06:49was apparently too nice
06:51for Dorothy Spornack actress Beatrice Arthur.
06:54White made jokes over the years
06:55alluding to their opposite personalities,
06:57but it wasn't until later
06:58that she actually stated how plain it was
07:00that Arthur just didn't like her that much.
07:03Bea was not that fond of me.
07:05Yeah, well, I know. I've heard that.
07:06I don't know.
07:07What is that about?
07:08I don't know what I ever did.
07:09I don't know, but she was not that thrilled with me.
07:12Despite this, White says she loved her co-star.
07:15It does make us rethink all of those times
07:17Dorothy yelled at Rose.
07:19Now, I want you to promise
07:20that you will not say anything.
07:22Do you promise?
07:24Do you promise?
07:274. Shannon Doherty opens up about being fired
07:30Alyssa Milano and Shannon Doherty
07:32may have played supernatural sisters on Charmed,
07:35but there was little love lost between them.
07:37No history lesson needed.
07:38I grew up here too.
07:40So can we talk about what's really bothering you?
07:42No, I'm still furious with you.
07:44The late Doherty was fired after three seasons
07:47and replaced by Rose McGowan.
07:49In 2023, after years of saying she chose to depart,
07:52Doherty confirmed that she was fired at Milano's urging.
07:55Her version of events was corroborated
07:57by their co-star Holly Marie Combs on her podcast.
08:00I said, why would you hire her again?
08:03Just fire her.
08:04And he said, we didn't mean to.
08:08And he said, but we've been backed into this corner.
08:11He said, we're basically in a position
08:14where it's one or the other.
08:16Milano had built a case for a hostile work environment
08:18and threatened a lawsuit
08:20if her fellow actress wasn't let go.
08:22It cleared up a decades-old mystery
08:24around pretty scandalous behind-the-scenes drama.
08:27We never had it out.
08:29Like, we never...
08:31Not privately or publicly.
08:33Right.
08:34I don't ever remember being mean to her on set.
08:38Number three, Tracy Ullman on Almost Dying with Meryl Streep.
08:42After filming the 1985 historical drama Plenty,
08:45co-stars Tracy Ullman and Meryl Streep
08:47were on their way back from the shoot in Tunisia.
08:50Sipping champagne and we were laughing at somebody
08:53that you and I know who we were laughing at.
08:55We're not mentioning any names here.
08:57There's always one actor you hate on a production.
08:59Oh, I hate him, I hate him, I hate him.
09:02We're not saying who it was, ever.
09:04According to Ullman's speech
09:06at Streep's AFI Life Achievement Award dinner,
09:08their venting session was interrupted
09:10when the plane almost crashed.
09:12It was at that moment that the British star realised
09:15that if she dies with Meryl Streep,
09:16she's going to get second billing and her own death.
09:19I could see the headlines, you know,
09:21Screen Legend Streep in Tunisian Air Disaster.
09:24Also aboard, Limey Comedienne...
09:29Stacey Pullman.
09:32Ullman's story doesn't just highlight
09:34her own incredible sense of humour,
09:36it gives some fun and hilarious insight
09:38into Streep's greatness too.
09:40Humanitarian in show business,
09:42millennium thespian of the millennium awards.
09:46They're happening now and it is puzzling to me
09:48because you're only in your early 50s,
09:50a wonderful time for most actresses.
09:58Number two, Kim Cattrall shatters the illusion.
10:01Friendship on screen doesn't always translate.
10:04That's what Sex and the City fans everywhere found out
10:06when Kim Cattrall revealed that she did not consider
10:09her castmates her friends.
10:10I don't see them.
10:12The common ground that we had was the series
10:14and the series is over.
10:16On Piers Morgan's Life Stories,
10:18Cattrall seemingly explained how she felt
10:20that co-stars blamed her for a third
10:22Sex and the City film not going forward.
10:24She further confirmed that she
10:26and Sarah Jessica Parker were not pals.
10:28I don't want to in any shape or form
10:33ruin an ideal of it
10:36because it does stand for empowerment
10:39and it does stand for women
10:41sticking up for each other
10:43but not always.
10:45The professional distance may be understandable
10:47but it seemed to catch even Parker by surprise.
10:50As of season two of the sequel series,
10:52Cattrall has only made one appearance
10:54and it was in a circumstance where she
10:56didn't have to share the set with the others.
10:59Put me on speaker and hold up that phone.
11:01Alright, you're on speaker.
11:03Thank you for everything.

11:24Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter
11:26have a relationship that's hard to define
11:28but one thing's for sure,
11:30Anthony Hopkins was terrifying in his role.
11:32The first day we had a reading,
11:34we had like a little read through
11:36and I got there early and then I went
11:38to the bathroom and I came back,
11:39everybody was sitting down,
11:40we did the read through of the film
11:42and by the end of it,
11:43I never wanted to talk to him again.
11:45Star Jodie Foster admitted that she
11:47didn't really speak to Hopkins on the set
11:49of The Silence of the Lambs.
11:51Her reasoning was simple enough.
11:53He spent most of the time behind a glass wall
11:55and frankly, he was scary.
11:57In fact, she says they didn't really
11:59have a conversation until the last day of shooting.
12:01I guess he sidled up to me and I said,
12:03I don't know, I sort of had a tear in my eye.
12:05I was like, I was really scared of you.
12:07And he said, I was scared of you.
12:09I think it's funny because
12:11why would anyone be scared of me?
12:12No wonder these two got Oscars.
12:14It's kind of fun and disturbing
12:16to know that a set can be just as unsettling
12:18as the movie itself.
12:20No, I avoided him.
12:23Did any of these celebrity stories shock you?
12:25Let us know in the comments.
12:27You said, god damn,
12:29that woman who's writing that horrible
12:31unauthorized biography on me
12:33is a terrific ending, peanut.
