The Antichrist (1974) (ENG) HD

The young and beautiful Ippolita Oderisi, a noble member of a very rich Roman family, suffers from paralysis in her legs, perhaps caused by the trauma of her mother's death, which occurred following a car accident when she was a child. Seeking comfort, Ippolita goes to a sanctuary of the Madonna in Ciociaria, where she witnesses the liberation of some possessed people from demonic possession, but also the suicide of a possessed man who, having freed himself, commits suicide by throwing himself from a ruined house.

Following a conversation with a psychiatrist, Dr. Marcello Sinibaldi, Ippolita agrees to use hypnosis to discover the causes of her psychomotor disorders, which most likely originate from nervous instability. During the sessions, Ippolita's subconscious is the object of an ancient demonic possession, inherited from one of her ancestors, tortured, condemned by the Inquisition and executed at the stake. Immediately after the hypnotic sessions, Ippolita begins to show signs of diabolical possession. Psychiatric treatment is of little use and, therefore, the young woman is subjected to exorcism. During the exorcistic practice, Ippolita escapes and reaches the ruins of the Colosseum. Here, joined by her father and brother, she is forcibly pushed to the foot of a cross. Satan is defeated and the young Ippolita returns to her normal life.
