00:00Well, Leva, welcome back to Us Weekly.
00:01Thanks for having me.
00:02It's always good to see you.
00:03It's always good to see you.
00:04And if you're here, don't care.
00:05I love it.
00:06Yeah.
00:07Just like, you know, new year, new energy.
00:08Chop it off.
00:09I love it.
00:10I love it.
00:11What inspired the new look?
00:12I always say it's like a rage cut.
00:13And I know that sounds so like, they're like, what are you mad about, Leva?
00:16I'm like, no, I don't know.
00:17I'm just like fed up.
00:18Yeah.
00:19Like, just chop it off.
00:20Just chop it off.
00:21Like, start fresh, you know.
00:22And I usually do these things where every few years, like, I'll just take like a kitchen
00:25shear.
00:26And we were in green screens and it was our last green screen where we can't like change
00:29our hair and stuff.
00:32So I was sitting there and I was telling my hairstylist, I was like, I just want to cut.
00:34He's like, this is the second time you've said this.
00:36And he's like, this is the last green screen.
00:37Are you going to go home and just cut your own hair?
00:38And I was like, possibly, you know, and the snowstorm was coming.
00:42So it's like, he's like, you're going to be trapped in house for three days.
00:45You're going to chop all your hair off.
00:46And he's like, let's just do it now.
00:47So we did it in the green screen studio, which is so funny.
00:50It looks fantastic.
00:51Afterwards, I was like, I don't know.
00:52I don't feel very girly.
00:56It's great.
00:57It's great.
00:58Yeah.
00:59Well, speaking of great things, two great shows, Southern Hospitality, Southern Charm.
01:02Let's start with Southern Hospitality because things are getting crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy.
01:07Yeah.
01:08Especially with Emmy and Will this season.
01:09Yeah.
01:10What's it like for you watching it back, knowing the ins and outs of their relationship on
01:13both a personal and a working relationship?
01:16It's hard.
01:17It's like, they're kind of like these, not my kids, but like, you know, I care about
01:21them.
01:22And so like, I hate seeing Emmy so stressed out.
01:25But I hate, you know, Will feeling so alienated and like struggling and kind of running away
01:30from camera, you know, because he's not knowing how to deal with it.
01:33And then I don't like that it's distracting him from law school.
01:35I mean, I wrote him a reference letter to get into law school.
01:38So I'm like, I hope this isn't affecting your grades, you know, as though he needs to, you
01:43know, report to me.
01:44But yeah, I mean, it's, you always have so much empathy.
01:47But also like, because I've done reality, I also am like, lean into owning things.
01:53Just go ahead.
01:55Avoiding in reality TV just makes it come back up.
01:58You know, like it's the worst, yeah.
02:01Just go ahead and rip the bandaid off, address it, you know what I mean?
02:04And so I think for them, you know, and I think everyone can say that until it's for them.
02:09So like, you know, somebody will probably say that to me when the bus comes for me one
02:13day.
02:14Love it, own it.
02:15But yeah, so I mean, it's hard and, you know, I can advise to my demise.
02:20I can just keep telling them like, hey, just, you know, but they're going to do what they
02:24want to do.
02:25So it's hard to watch from the sidelines.
02:26Yeah.
02:27But like another round of cheating rumors now comes up from Austin, who says, you know,
02:32his girlfriend's friend, you know, this chain of events.
02:36I mean, how many times can we hear, like you said, own it.
02:39If it could happen, just own it.
02:40Do you believe that he has been faithful to her?
02:43I mean, she said that he, she believes.
02:44Yeah.
02:45I don't know that until I were to see a receipt that I would think he wasn't faithful, but
02:49I do think that their relationship struggled a bit, like because they went from being together
02:54all the time to long distance and him being stressed out about law school.
02:58And I think if there were to have been a conversation of like, I don't feel as connected to you.
03:03That's a norm that happens, you know, like we love each other, but it's feeling weird
03:06and it feels like you're doing this and I'm doing this and I don't feel like we're connecting
03:10the way we want to.
03:11I think that that would have been a better conversation than everything's perfect.
03:15It's perfect.
03:16It wasn't perfect for a bit.
03:17It was, it was a little hard.
03:18It was a little rough seas.
03:19We did some things maybe we regret, said some things maybe we regret.
03:24And I think that had they given, gone into that, then I think everyone would have backed
03:29off.
03:30Right.
03:31But I think just saying we're better than ever is like not the case.
03:35Not the case.
03:36You know, it's just like, you know, being older, I guess, I'm just like, listen, it's
03:39okay that it's not perfect.
03:41I mean, marriage, relationships, like, you know, you have seasons where you're connecting,
03:45you have seasons where you have to reconnect, you're changing, you're growing.
03:48This is, and I told Emmy that I was like, this is just the beginning.
03:52Wait till you are postpartum and you've had a baby or you're like going back to your career,
03:57let's say, or, or having to leave your career, maybe not wanting to leave your career.
04:01Like there are so many things, God forbid somebody's not in their best health.
04:04I was like, there are so many ways that you have to learn to navigate struggle and growth
04:10in relationships.
04:11And I, obviously it's very different when it's on reality TV, but it's, it's normal.
04:17I think these kids just like create this version of this fantasy version of how relationships
04:23are supposed to be.
04:24And they're not like that.
04:25It's not like that at all.
04:26No.
04:27I actually think that people who claim perfect, perfect, so in love, so in love, so in love
04:29are the biggest frauds.
04:30I couldn't agree with you more.
04:31You know, you don't see me posting all the love I have for my husband every day, but
04:36there's nothing.
04:37I'm as boring as they come.
04:38You know what I mean?
04:39I'm not just like, oh my God, I love you.
04:40I love you.
04:41I love you.
04:42We're in love.
04:43We're so perfect.
04:44Like you're overcompensating or something.
04:45I have no need to do that, you know, do you feel like everybody wants to see them succeed
04:49or do you think that like these rumors come up, like to Austin, are there ulterior motives
04:54that they want?
04:55I think that the cast, remember the cast, I mean, Will's away for law school, but, but
05:01really these are Will's friends, right?
05:03So I genuinely think that they want it to succeed, but also we're filming a show where
05:09you have to talk about the things you wouldn't typically talk about.
05:12They have to do that.
05:13And these are things that have happened.
05:14And I think that, I think they want them to succeed, but I think they just want them to,
05:20they wanted to hear yes, you know, from Emmy, like, yes, I did know, I did know everything
05:25that was said and I am okay with it.
05:27And Emmy has to be okay with people judging her for being okay with it.
05:31You can't like, oh, we heard it all.
05:34You know, like that's what it seems like it's, it's happening.
05:36So like, I think they're now, and now those are all Emmy's friends as well.
05:41I think they were just worried about, is Will okay?
05:43Are you okay?
05:45And I think it just fell flat for Will and Emmy, you know what I mean?
05:50And I just was like, you know, at some point I get it that that was embarrassing for both
05:56of you.
05:57But I also think that these are people who love you both, you know, like Bradley and
06:02Joe and Teej are very much friends with, with Will, but also like they really care
06:06about Emmy and Emmy has been anxious for maybe different reasons.
06:10I don't know.
06:11So it was like, I was even looking at Emmy like, are you okay?
06:14Yeah.
06:15Right.
06:16Yeah.
06:17Cause like the outbursts.
06:18Yeah.
06:19Very, very big reactions.
06:20And don't get me wrong.
06:21She's kind of a dramatic girl and a little bit of like OCD anxious girl, but it was on
06:23a whole other level.
06:24Yeah.
06:25You know?
06:26So it was like, what's ticking for you?
06:27Like what's the problem?
06:29And so I think that was a concern that her friends were having is like, is everything
06:34okay?
06:35Yeah.
06:36Will we find out more this season?
06:37What's really triggering?
06:38I think maybe a little bit, I mean, from what I've seen, I'm not that far ahead from what
06:42you guys see, but I'm hoping and I'm hoping if not, maybe reunion can resolve it.
06:48Right.
06:49So I really want to know, you know, cause she kept saying, well, it's not Will that's
06:52making me anxious.
06:53It's like, well, what is it?
06:54You're not working that many shifts, you know, like, I don't know.
06:58You're like in Aspen and then you're like working two shifts, cold plunging every day.
07:03You're saunaing, you're having steak.
07:05I feel like you should be in their best mental state.
07:07If I could do that, you know, every day, nothing would be stressing me.
07:12I'd be like, oh, I work twice a week.
07:13I eat steak every day.
07:15I'm cold plunging, saunaing, doing yoga.
07:18Like what's stressing you?
07:20What is stress?
07:21You have no idea what stress is, you know?
07:23Well, speaking of stress, Maddie seems to be super stressed about her Vegas gig.
07:28Yes.
07:29Grace Lilly decides not to work.
07:30We don't know yet.
07:31Right.
07:32Not show up.
07:33Grace is living on great planet grace.
07:34Yeah.
07:35Yeah.
07:36Yeah.
07:37What did you kind of make of that?
07:38Especially as a business woman, when you were booked at a gig, you show up.
07:39Yeah.
07:40Well, that is the, one of the reasons grace doesn't work for us anymore.
07:43You know what I mean?
07:44Cause it's like, you know, Republic doesn't run on grace time.
07:47You know what I mean?
07:48So it's a lot of that.
07:50I definitely think Grace is in a better place.
07:52She was in a bad relationship and I think mentally she's in a better place, but Grace
07:56is just grace.
07:58She's, she really like marches by the beat of her own drum.
08:02You know what I mean?
08:03But to invest something that's so important to you, I felt for Maddie because I was, you
08:08know, she's worked for me, you know, at the end of the day.
08:11And I was upset for Maddie, like, you know, Lamar and I managed Maddie's career.
08:14So it's like, I was just like, grace, it was hard to get this booking.
08:18You know what I mean?
08:19And like your friend is sick.
08:20Like the two of you like manage her career.
08:22Yes.
08:23Yes.
08:24Yes.
08:25And I think for Maddie, it was like, show up, like she stuck her neck out for you.
08:29You didn't get this gig.
08:30She did.
08:31Sure.
08:32Yeah.
08:33So, I mean, that's the part of grace.
08:34I don't think she means to do that, but I think because she's really not had to hustle
08:39like that, she may not have the connection to like the loss, like what, what hustle it
08:45took to get here because she's charming and she's funny.
08:49And I think a lot of things have kind of been handed to grace, so there might be a little
08:53bit of that too.
08:54I think we'll see a little bit of backlash between Maddie and grace going forward.
08:56I think we see that a little bit in the trailer too.
08:59So it's going to be interesting.
09:00Yeah.
09:01And it's a lot deeper.
09:02I think you'll see that part of it and then you'll see more of sort of the grace element
09:08in the group.
09:09Interesting.
09:10The dynamics are shifting.
09:11Yeah.
09:12Yeah.
09:13Dynamics are shifting.
09:14They really are.
09:15How do you feel like Joe and Maddie have grown since maybe their Vegas wedding?
09:17We're going to see this coming up too.
09:18I'm very excited about that.
09:20But do you feel like still that they are good for one another?
09:23I do.
09:24Honestly, in the beginning, I even took them aside.
09:25I was like, you're not doing this for show, right?
09:27Like you don't have to do this.
09:29We don't want that.
09:31And it's really like they're really cute together.
09:34They really are in love.
09:36And at first, I also was anxious of like, who's going to break whose heart?
09:39Like Joe, are you going to be faithful or not, or I don't know, or Maddie, is he just
09:45like a rebound?
09:46Like I was very worried.
09:49And they kept it kind of top secret for a while.
09:52I was telling someone else that like one of the staff like sent me there because all
09:55these kids, this generation, they share their locations.
09:57It's so weird.
09:58It is.
09:59It is.
10:00It's like so weird.
10:01Their locations are constantly shared.
10:03I'm like, this is so violating.
10:05It's so weird.
10:06And so like they all have.
10:08So then they can know when.
10:09So I got these like texts of like Joe's location has been like at Maddie's or vice versa or
10:14something for like three days.
10:15I was like, oh, maybe it's just like, like, I don't know, a bender or maybe just hanging
10:20with her roommates.
10:21Like, I don't know.
10:23But that's, that's the funny part is like that generation, they're like, no, his location
10:27hasn't left.
10:28He hasn't, you know, he's been here.
10:30It's so weird.
10:31Yeah.
10:32That's why I find them all so fascinating.
10:35They just live in a weird vortex.
10:38But yeah, I think they're really cute together.
10:40Like they're really sweet, just really supportive of her DJ career.
10:45I get a little concerned.
10:46So I'm like, Joe, you need a career too.
10:49But yeah, I think that they're really sweet and really love each other and kind of like,
10:55you know, very secure in their relationship, which is like, okay, good for them.
11:00Yeah, it's nice.
11:01Yeah.
11:02Let's switch gears to Southern Charm.
11:03Lots going on there.
11:05Yeah.
11:06Lots going on, especially this latest episode, we see kind of Vanita and JT, the beginning
11:12of the relationship at the quick end.
11:15How did that, how does their relationship shift after he says, you know, I got this
11:18girlfriend or is this kind of maybe just the start of things?
11:21Well, I think for at the time of filming, I think JT was starting to see someone.
11:27You know what I mean?
11:28So we hadn't brought her around.
11:29We didn't meet her.
11:30You know, like once in a while he just mentioned like, everyone's dating, right?
11:35And then I think it just progressively got serious.
11:37And I think JT came to a point where he was like, you know, also simultaneously having
11:44these really strong feelings for his friend, not knowing if she reciprocates, you know
11:50what I mean?
11:51But also like kind of going down this road where like, are we going to be in a committed
11:54relationship?
11:55He's like stuck.
11:57And yeah, it's like a tricky, but I, if you were to see JT and Vanita in real life,
12:05Totally different.
12:06I want them to be together.
12:08Even still.
12:09I'm sorry, their girlfriend.
12:10But I just think they, I just think like their souls are like, I don't know.
12:15I was, I was dying for it because they're just so adorable together.
12:20I don't know.
12:21I, and I've seen it, but they were, I just always thought like they're best friends,
12:26but like, I wish they were both not, you know, cause she was like, I was like, I felt like
12:30I was seeing something they were not conscious of, but I was like, in a pseudo world, you
12:34guys would be so cute together.
12:36And then when he was kind of like single and dating and then she, her relationship
12:41had ended.
12:42I was like, yeah, cause I've witnessed it for so long and I've never said anything.
12:45Cause I'm just like not into homewrecking or anything, but then it was like this little
12:49window.
12:50I almost wish that they'd moved faster before his stuff got serious.
12:54Right?
12:55So I don't know.
12:56I'm still rooting for it.
12:58Sure.
12:59What's your relationship like with JT?
13:01Because obviously he got out of the show for a little bit.
13:04Did he end up returning and where do you kind of things stand now?
13:08Well, you'll have to tune in for all of that, but I am very, I'm friends with JT and I very
13:16early on like clocked that, you know, what was being said about him was not accurate.
13:23You know what I mean?
13:24And I felt like there was a lot being said about him.
13:28And the group was just believing one person when you're in a friend group and one person
13:31says somebody else said something.
13:34And the other person that was there was like, I do not recall.
13:37How are we just believing?
13:38You know what I mean?
13:39Like, yeah, that's not fair.
13:41We should hear him out too.
13:43I get it.
13:44There's more history with Craig.
13:45I get it.
13:46And there is, and it was like, well, what would be the incentive of you just lying on
13:50this man?
13:51You know what I mean?
13:52But I also know JT well enough to know that he just doesn't speak in that way.
13:56And I also knew his confusion and struggle with the friendship with Madison and he didn't
14:02know how to navigate that, but I was like, bro, landing it on Shep and Craig was not
14:07the move.
14:08Like, why would you not have like even called me and been like, I'm struggling with this.
14:12And I would have been like, okay, you and Madison are going to go half, you and I mean,
14:16like, and he was like, I don't know.
14:18I thought that like they could give me advice on it.
14:21And I was like, wrong, wrong, just all wrong.
14:23I think JT made social missteps, but none of them were malicious.
14:28And then it was like the version of what was translated to the group was, I knew right
14:34away was not correct.
14:36And so I just, I kept that open door of like, let's go off lunch.
14:41Let's figure this out.
14:42Because I think he was feeling just very run down, like beat down a little bit.
14:47Do you think Craig lied then?
14:50Or do you think he just misunderstood?
14:51No, I think he lied.
14:53I don't think he like was, maybe he wasn't malicious about it, but I think he just kind
14:57of didn't care and was like flippant about like, okay, he said it like, but it's like,
15:01oh, well, you're not, you're, you're really like not being respectful to these other women.
15:05He's just like dragged her marriage into something that wasn't that deep.
15:08And then that's not a very nice term about somebody like Miss Pat, you know what I mean?
15:13So I just think he was careless in the way that he translated.
15:18And Craig makes good TV because he is careless about what he, he's a storyteller, right?
15:25So he like just spices it up and rolls it back.
15:28But like in this instance, it was very degrading to the women that he, that it involved in
15:33my opinion.
15:34You know what I mean?
15:35So maybe it's a good reckoning for him to like, you know, yes, it's like thus far, it's
15:41always just been cutesy and entertaining, but like you're a big boy now, it's not cutesy
15:46and entertaining anymore.
15:47You know what I mean?
15:49What did you make of his conversation with Austin when obviously we see the cracks in
15:52their friendship and, you know, Austin's really trying to hold onto this friendship and Craig's
15:56like, I'm gonna give you $30,000 for this podcast.
15:59To me, that was very offensive.
16:01Yeah.
16:02That to me was like, it's like shoving money in somebody's mouth or something.
16:06Like if they're like, hey, you need to do this.
16:09Like it was just kind of like, to me, a big boy degrading.
16:13You know what I mean?
16:14I'm a business person.
16:15I would never speak to a friend or business personnel.
16:18So yeah, I felt for Austin.
16:19I think Austin is seeking connection and I think everyone's seeking connection with Craig
16:22because he's just really moved away from the group on all levels.
16:26And I think everyone is like, listen, some of the group parties, but not everybody does.
16:32You know what I mean?
16:33So I think they're feeling thrown under the bus.
16:35Like I'm not just asking you to get blackout with me, I just want to hang out with you
16:38or connect.
16:39And I think Craig is struggling with trying to be a business person, trying to be a good
16:45boyfriend, trying to be like all these things.
16:46And it's like, you can be imperfect within that.
16:50You can also maybe have a few people you can trust.
16:53Like I think there's no trust anymore.
16:54There's no connection.
16:56I think he thinks maybe, because I've even said to him, like, are you struggling?
16:59Are you struggling with your new normal of like being a business person?
17:02Maybe like not drinking?
17:03Are you struggling with that?
17:04Because that happens in life.
17:05Like you shed friends, you make new ones.
17:08Like I can help, but he's so guarded.
17:09He's like, no, no, that's not it.
17:10That's not it.
17:11You know?
17:12And it's like, well, your friends just want to feel connected to you.
17:15Is he reconnected now that he and Paige are no longer together?
17:18Do you know?
17:19Not with me.
17:20I don't know if he has with other people.
17:22Not that I've heard.
17:23Okay.
17:24I think he's just very like on his own campus, you know what I mean?
17:29And so everyone's just like, hey, do you just not like us anymore?
17:33Or you know, are you, but you know, we're on a group thread and we laugh and chat and
17:39fight and you know, yeah, yeah, we definitely fight and someone gets offended and leaves
17:44the group chat.
17:45Yeah.
17:46I'm notorious for dragging them back onto the thread.
17:49I'm like, you're not leaving.
17:50You're back on this.
17:51You know, it's the last person that left.
17:53I think Ryan is the last person.
17:55Yeah.
17:56Yeah.
17:57So yeah, it takes ebbs and flows, you know, like people leave and then, yeah, I love to
18:01add some of them.
18:02Like I love when someone says like a last thing on a group thread and they like storm
18:05off like they've slammed the door and I'm like, add it back.
18:09Here's your response.
18:10Yeah.
18:11So I mean, yeah, it's, it is all what we are on charm.
18:15We fight.
18:16We have each other's back.
18:17We check in.
18:18You know, like I checked in on Craig.
18:19Like, are you doing okay?
18:20After the breakup?
18:21Like I know we're not talking all the time.
18:22I just want to let you know, like, I know this sucks.
18:24I know it's hard to navigate it publicly.
18:25Yeah.
18:26I have a lot of empathy for that for both of them.
18:30He just hearted the message.
18:31So I don't know.
18:32Okay.
18:33Yeah.
18:34It's probably not doing great.
18:35Yeah.
18:36But you know, I think that at the end of the day with all of that, it's hard to navigate
18:41any breakup.
18:42Yeah.
18:43Like in the public eye.
18:44But, you know, we're in the business of authenticity.
18:48So it can get just, you know, I think that you have to always have like a baseline for
18:52like what you check into when you're doing something and it's like, what is the baseline
18:56of what we're doing?
18:59So it's really hard watching back this season and how he is just all in.
19:03Yeah.
19:04On this relationship.
19:05I mean, we find out.
19:06I was like, if I hear I love you chicken one more time, I'm just like, oh, yeah, right.
19:11We see at the end of this episode that he got a ring.
19:15Yeah.
19:16She picked it out.
19:17Yeah.
19:18He was full fledged about to engage.
19:20Yeah.
19:21I mean, so knowing what you know now and seeing this, what was your reaction?
19:24Did you know that he had bought?
19:25No, I had no idea that he bought any ring.
19:28I had no idea that they were in that place.
19:32But I do know that it was like, I think like a month leading up before the breakup that
19:37like we didn't see her at the restaurant opening.
19:39We didn't see her at the premiere.
19:41We didn't see her at a lot of places.
19:42You know what I mean?
19:43So I was just like, weird.
19:44It's weird that she wouldn't have like we were even in New York at a premiere at our
19:48premiere.
19:49She wasn't there.
19:50I was like something.
19:51Something's off.
19:52Off.
19:53You know what I mean?
19:54For like some time before.
19:55But again, Craig is so guarded.
19:56Yeah.
19:57That, you know.
19:58Hey, guys.
19:59Yeah.
20:00You know, she's working.
20:01Yeah.
20:02So we're just like, OK.
20:03And also, like, kudos to her.
20:04She's working.
20:05I'm not going to hate on that.
20:06Right.
20:07You know what I mean?
20:08Like, good for her.
20:09She's really independent, ambitious girl.
20:10She's not like, oh, my God, you need to, like, cancel your gig to be by your boyfriend's
20:13side.
20:14Yeah.
20:15Do you feel like the timeline?
20:16I mean, we don't know the ins and outs of the relationship.
20:18Right.
20:19Do you feel like the timeline of events, like, kind of scared her off a little bit?
20:23Maybe the sperm freezing and things like that?
20:25Maybe.
20:26Yeah.
20:27I mean, I don't know.
20:28I haven't talked to her.
20:29I think at the end of the day, it just maybe wasn't a fit and maybe none of us will ever
20:34know why.
20:35But we're also, I think we have to normalize being OK with not being Team Craig and not
20:41being Team Paige, but just being like, it's complicated.
20:43And really, at the end of the day, only they know why is what.
20:47And like I've always said, marriage is the biggest decision of your life.
20:53And so don't make it frivolously.
20:54No, definitely.
20:55You know what I mean?
20:56And I think that we have to normalize girls not also getting married, like allowing girls
21:01to change their mind.
21:03Yeah.
21:04Yeah.
21:05Like we're allowed to change our minds.
21:06We are.
21:07You know, like it's not like we're just like cattle to be like, you know what I mean?
21:10No, it's so true.
21:11And so I think to vilify her for changing her mind is wrong, too.
21:14Right.
21:15You know what I mean?
21:16Women are allowed to do that.
21:17Men do it all the time.
21:18So I am not in the business of vilifying a woman changing her mind before she walks down
21:25the aisle.
21:26We are allowed to have the freedom to do that.
21:29So it's like.
21:30Last question about this, because she's kind of called Craig out for not standing up for
21:34her during this time.
21:35Almost like, you know, she has been vilified a little bit and, you know, there's been accusations
21:39that she cheated and she's like, step up.
21:41Why aren't you saying anything?
21:42Yeah.
21:43Are you a little disappointed that he hasn't?
21:44Yeah.
21:45I mean, I think that it would have been good to just.
21:48I think that when he made his post, it kind of opened a door for people to question instead
21:54of I think when she spoke about it was very neutral.
21:58And maybe there's more to it.
22:00I don't know.
22:01But yeah, I just think if you don't want people in your business and keep them out of your
22:03business, don't give the gray.
22:05Mm hmm.
22:06Yeah.
22:07You know what I mean?
22:08Like, don't you don't need to act surprised.
22:09You don't need to act anything like, yes, we've we've parted ways.
22:13I didn't want to speak about it.
22:14That's it.
22:15So I think it's you can't play two sides of the coin.
22:18Like, you know what I mean?
22:19Don't give people gray.
22:20And then, you know, you put yourself here.
22:23So here.
22:24Yeah.
22:25It seems like Shep may get a taste of his own medicine when it comes to.
22:29Oh, my goodness.
22:31What did you make of that relationship?
22:32You know, saying I love you so quickly, talking about kids, something that we haven't heard
22:36Shep do.
22:37Yeah.
22:38Ever.
22:39Yeah.
22:40We were like in a green screen.
22:41He's like, can you imagine like me and my curly haired babies like running down the
22:43beach?
22:44I'll be Warren Buffett, except for without the guitar.
22:46I was like, wow, you have this like all planned out.
22:49I think he was like literally thinking he's going to like own a hotel in the Bahamas with
22:52all his little kids.
22:54I think he really I think after Taylor, Shep was like, I'll never feel this way again.
23:00And I, you know, sometimes I think he's still very much is in love with Taylor.
23:04I do think he still loves Taylor now.
23:07I don't know if he'll end up with Taylor, but I do think that there that was a very
23:10special love.
23:12And I think he was so excited to have some version of that again that he got like ahead
23:18of himself.
23:19You know what I mean?
23:20A little bit.
23:21Because I think she was just like, who did we have this conversation?
23:25Like we're not on the same page.
23:26Like when I met her, she was like, I'm here for a good time, not a long time.
23:29Like she was just like, I was like, wow, then you're perfect for, you know, Shep, like you're
23:33just kind of both noncommittal.
23:35You're both like just out there having a good time, you know?
23:38And then when he started to like talk about how in love he was, then it was a little bit
23:43different.
23:44Do you think that she wanted to be on the show?
23:46Because apparently she reached out to Whitney beforehand.
23:49I think she wanted to be on the show.
23:50And I think she, I think sometimes when somebody is like on a show or like somebody like Shep,
23:55I think the idea of Shep is like fun.
23:59And then, you know, the, and then also she knows Shep for what she sees.
24:03And then all of a sudden Shep's like, oh no, I'm into commitment.
24:06You know?
24:07She's like, wait, what?
24:08I thought this was a hookup.
24:09Yeah.
24:10This is not the narrative you have sold me thus far, you know, like as a viewer, you're
24:14like, wait, what?
24:15Uh huh.
24:16The girl.
24:17You would change him.
24:18Yes.
24:19You choose just like, no, I thought we were both on the same page.
24:21You're not ready for anything.
24:22So I think that jarred her too.
24:23Like, I think had he been the Shep that you see on the show, that's super, that it, maybe
24:27the relationship would have lasted longer, but I think because he's like this new leaf
24:31post ayahuasca post Taylor breakup, like I am here to wife and make babies.
24:37Like she's just like, who are you?
24:39Who are you?
24:40So I think it was like a little bit of both.
24:42It seems like things go down in the Bahamas though.
24:46Does this change dynamics in the group or is it, you know, I think at the end of the
24:50day, I think it, it forged more connection in the group because yes, we fight, fight
24:55amongst each other, but also like don't come for one of us because we are friends.
24:59You know what I mean?
25:00So I think at the end of the day, we really have a strong bond, not just as friends, but
25:05also friends that are filming a show.
25:07And so that's sort of like a weird, we're in this tiny vortex that our spouses don't
25:12understand.
25:13Our boyfriends don't understand.
25:14Our parents don't understand.
25:15Our other best friends don't understand because we're in this thing.
25:17So at the end of the day, it's like when an outsider comes in and burns one of us,
25:20we're like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
25:21This is still, it's like when you're mad at your husband, you're like, I can talk about
25:25him, but you can't.
25:26You know what I mean?
25:27So it's kind of like that.
25:28It's like, I can talk about him, but you cannot, you know, or you cannot hurt him.
25:32I'll hurt him.
25:33Right.
25:34You know, a lot.
25:35But you can't hurt him.
25:36Yeah.
25:37So I think it was kind of like that.
25:38Like everyone was just like, yo, this is our friend.
25:41Like what are you trying to humiliate?
25:42You know what I mean?
25:43Kind of deal.
25:44And I think it kind of made everyone bond, like it bonded the group because at the end
25:49of the day, we care about Shep and Shep's feelings were genuine.
25:54You know what I mean?
25:55Yeah.
25:56Yeah.
25:57And yeah, so.
25:58Reunions around the corner, what do you think is going to be the big topic of conversation?
26:00I think there's going to be a lot of topics of conversation.
26:04I think there's going to be a lot of...
26:05Is there anything you want to clear up too?
26:07I mean, I just think that at the end of the day, I think that the way a lot of people
26:11in the group treated JT was unfair.
26:14I would like to see also JT and Vanita figure out where they're at because that got real
26:18weird real fast.
26:22I think that I would love to see Taylor and Sally sort of maybe find a common place because
26:29I actually think in some weird space they could be friends.
26:33I also would love to see that like JT make up with Madison because they were great friends.
26:38And I would, in a weird world, I actually think Austin and Shep, I mean Austin and JT
26:45could be friends.
26:46Interesting.
26:47In a really weird world.
26:48I mean, they actually value the same thing in some odd way.
26:53Their issues with Craig are the same and I'm like, can't you...
26:57Can you just abandon?
26:58Sure.
26:59Like, can we just...
27:00And they're fun to be...
27:01Like, if they were to just like...
27:02Like, it's a fun group of people.
27:03Yeah.
27:04Well, if Austin and Madison could be best friends, then they, you know, maybe in a weird
27:08world.
27:09I never thought we would see that.
27:10Yeah.
27:11Yeah.
27:12In a weird world.
27:13I feel like there could be a lot of that.
27:14So I think there's a lot of like...
27:16I think people are going to hold people accountable on that show.
27:20And we're going to hit that at reunion.
27:23There's going to be a lot of accountability, a lot of questions, and maybe some...
27:27Like reconciled friendships is like what I'm hoping for.
27:30The Shep and Molly thing, is that a thing?
27:31I don't think that's a thing anymore.
27:32That's not a thing anymore.
27:33Okay.
27:34There's a lot of more things over there, but that's not one of them.
27:38I mean, we see a teaser for that dinner event.
27:41I think it was a thing.
27:42Right.
27:43Okay.
27:44I think it was a moment, but I don't know that that moment has lasted.
27:45How did Taylor feel about that?
27:46Does she not care anymore?
27:47I think Taylor just doesn't care.
27:48Mm-hmm.
27:49She's over it.
27:50I think Taylor's so checked out.
27:51You know what I mean?
27:52Like, it's kind of funny.
27:53Mm-hmm.
27:54Because even the, I love you, is just like, like, what did you say when you're drunk?
27:57Like, he just says it all the time.
27:59Like, I was like, really?
28:00Shep says all...
28:01She's like, yeah, he said it like on my second date.
28:02Really?
28:03Like, doing any kind of deal or whatever it was.
28:04So I think she's over it, but I think she's also having a hard time in the friend group
28:08because there's been a lot of chatter about her current boyfriend.
28:11And she's just like, listen, I just want to be friends with you guys.
28:13Like, get off my boyfriend, you know?
28:14Mm-hmm.
28:15So, which is fair.
28:16Right.
28:17No, it is fair.
28:18Both explosive seasons.
28:19Yeah.
28:20Both are so good.
28:21I feel like we could talk about this for days.
28:22Yeah.
28:23I love it.
28:24It's always great seeing you.
28:25Thanks for having me.
28:26Thank you so much for coming by.
28:27Thanks for having me.
28:28As always, always welcome here.
