00:00Welcome back to the Gulf News Gadget Review. Today we are going to look at the
00:09latest iteration from Huawei of its smartphone which is foldable. So today we
00:15have the Huawei Mate X2 which is basically the second type of foldable
00:21phone from Huawei. They have two types, one is where it kind of folds in on
00:25itself and the second where the display is outside. This is the second one. So
00:32let's unbox. It's quite a premium looking smartphone. It's using the Huawei
00:46Falcon Wing design. So there it's folded through and it's pretty flush so you
00:58actually get it very sleek and together and it's pretty manageable in one hand.
01:07Now a lot of people complain about how foldable phones have that little bump
01:13especially in some of the other brands. They've done a pretty good job here. You
01:17actually cannot see unless you hold it up against the light and stare at it
01:21really close. You might feel it if you run your hand across but even that is
01:26pretty pretty difficult. So which means your display is going to be really good
01:30and seamless. Now one of the biggest complaints that people have about
01:34foldable phones is the fact that it is heavy. Now this is extremely light. They
01:40have actually reduced the weight to 255 grams. So how have they achieved that is
01:45by converting the display into from aluminum to plastic but that does not
01:52mean that it has become less durable. In fact they say it's two and a half times
01:57stronger, tougher and more durable. So when in and as we know in the past that
02:02when it comes to technology Huawei kind of takes the race pretty far ahead and
02:08this phone kind of demonstrates that. So this is where your display is going to
02:11be and this is where you have your connecting USB cable. Then you have your
02:19microphone and your fingerprint access point. The screen has a screen protector
02:26on it and it is pretty flush and flat. Of course some people might complain that
02:32it kind of irritates the hand but I think it is pretty good and it's pretty
02:37smooth and you don't feel it. Now another thing I wanted to show you is actually
02:41the texture of the back. It's really nice. So you have some other colors and based
02:46on that the textures differ. It's a very kind of leather texture feel. It looks
02:51really nice. It has a very high-end premium feel to it. So now let's check
02:56what's in the rest of the box. I love the feel of the box. It's all black and gold.
03:07This is of course for your SIM. This is a nice cover that they have. It's not the
03:17usual see-through and it actually works beautifully with your new phone. Now
03:25let's see what's in the second box. So your super-fast charger with the wire
03:38switching on the phone. Hold it, press down. Now while it's coming on, if you
03:47already have a Huawei ID, then porting your old phone onto this one is pretty
03:52easy. You just have to log in with your Huawei ID and the cloud will transfer
03:57all the information. If not, as we have said previously, you just need to
04:02download the phone clone and if it is already a Huawei phone, then it would
04:06have come pre-installed with a phone clone and you just use that to transfer.
04:11But ideally it's best to use the Huawei ID because it's extremely seamless. If
04:16you go into settings and you log into your Huawei ID, all your stuff, all your
04:22content comes in and it is pretty seamless and it is one of the best ways
04:26to ensure that all your apps come through. Now I want to show you some of
04:31the really cool aspects. So for example, if you're in settings and you bring it up.
04:41Split screen. So it comes in here and you can continue working. And that's your Huawei Mate X2.
