01:08was going to have that extra edge so we say uh with um those fans back in the stadium and uh
01:16but belgium also the belgian fans also really coming out in support of ericsson
01:21and um and the match did not disappoint at all um there was that um that moving tribute on 10
01:26minutes for ericsson as well and then um denmark gave absolutely everything the best denmark
01:32performance i've seen and i've seen a lot um in recent years uh and um it just it took a uh
01:40i wouldn't say a moment of magic from him uh the the bench um but uh it was it was definitely a
01:48game a game-changing substitution when kevin de bruyne came on um again showing that he's fully
01:52recovered from that injury in the champions league final yeah i pretty much agree with you de bruyne
01:58made a huge difference especially that pass i thought was magical and that's we have seen the
02:03de bruyne do that time and again in the premier league so i thought his arrival made a difference
02:08but uh coming back to their defense i remember you know preview sergeant had made a reference
02:14to their aging defense and we we see that uh they're a little slow on the defense there and
02:20we could see that yesterday and then we'll expose that what do you see sile there yeah absolutely
02:25you know vertonghen alderweireld they're good players i'm not they're very good players but
02:30you know sometimes the if players with electric pace come in front of them they will struggle
02:35you know the likes if you suppose if belgium play france france can completely expose them
02:41but about the game you're right absolutely game-changing substitution between kevin de
02:45bruyne on what a fantastic pass and that was a world-class finish that's not an easy goal to
02:50score at all if you guys saw that is one of the finest goals we've seen so far so credit to denmark
02:56for fighting you know it's not a one-sided game at all denmark gave it all breath we'd had few
03:00chances which maybe you could have taken one but felt sorry for denmark but you have to give it to
03:05belgium for fighting it out till the end yeah you're absolutely right seagull they came out
03:10they really came out fighting that first half in fact they bossed the first half completely
03:14they scored after i think it was 99 seconds uh faster go to the tournament and they could have
03:20had a lot more the way they started off belgium you're right the aging defense a little bit slower
03:24back there they didn't really create too much but i think all credit goes to just denmark the way
03:28they came out of the blocks yeah i think they were playing for they were playing for a christian um
03:33they had they had 19 shots again it shows you how important having a clinical finisher is though
03:39um for all that for all that effort and all those chances they still just got that one goal
03:43and uh and it ended up hurting them the fact that they couldn't put those chances away
03:47um i think all credit has to go to the hazard brothers as well and for belgium uh um
03:54they're talking getting the first and uh hazard uh eden hazard getting the assist for the second
03:59uh uh it's uh it's good to see brothers playing like that for some reason that's something i
04:04quite enjoy obviously um deborah's uh the netherlands manager he was doing that with his
04:10brother and uh you've seen that a few times but it's always good always good to see and it's
04:14always a little bit of an extra angle to a game what do you think sean do you agree there yeah
04:24absolutely and uh i i i think about his brothers playing uh it's always a joy because siblings
04:31playing together great i think even uh denmark used to have that lateral brothers if i remember
04:36right isn't that michael i forgot the guy's name brian brian yes there's such a such a joy to watch
04:44here but also i i just uh good to see eden hazard coming because there was a huge question mark over
04:49his fitness so i think as the tournament progresses anyway uh i think we'll see more of him
04:54and the brain in a regular time really uh but uh uh i have fully subscribed it so i was saying
05:01that they might get caught out on an asset tournament progress the defense will get caught
05:05out as a tournament progresses because uh i mean if you if you run into france and somebody like
05:10you know mbappé i mean they could just run circles around yeah so but i was also equally good to see
05:19touch there
05:24he's having a second he's having a second uh uh youth is uh
05:30since his um disappointing season at manchester united he just seems to have come
05:35back on with a point to prove since he's gone over to uh italy and i just think he's he's he's loving
05:40football again that's why a lot of teams in the premier league are interested in getting him back
05:44i'm sure that he'll agrees yeah i mean he's enjoying himself really i can completely agree
05:49lukaku's move to inter milan has been a blessing in disguise for him you know he's shown what he
05:55can do he's improved everything everything literally his first touch especially and now
06:00when we see in belgium this so far this tournament yesterday he did not score but you could see that
06:05he he's got a good pass in him the strikers usually don't have the best pass in him but
06:09i've seen lukaku's improvised so much in his passing obviously he's so he's super strong
06:14against defenders and as mr sham said it's great to see aiden hazard he was very good yesterday
06:19very instrumental in the second goal so belgium fans will be so happy to see him back and yeah
06:26there's more to come from belgium but there are some downsides for belgium we have we have to say
06:31that for sure sahil you're right you mentioned the car has improved his game so much i remember
06:36the days when he was at when he was at everton and he was a really raw kind of a striker you could
06:40see the potential in him for sure but he's developed his game his hold-up play now has
06:46become so much more better you know he gets the ball he's big he's strong he's got that physical
06:49presence he's he's able to hold the ball up and allow other people into the game so that
06:54that's going to be really important for for belgium going forward but they were nearly caught
06:58out yesterday break weight i think it was break weight had a had a glancing headache an injury
07:02time hit the top of the crossbar i mean just sum up how good done my call yesterday
07:08well to me i think they are like i said they were playing they were playing with their heart
07:13and their sleeves for um christian erickson um but they you know you to sustain that through
07:18the 90 minutes that takes more than just um passion and uh emotion they've got some real
07:24skill and talent in that team right the way through um but again as i said in this um very
07:29open tournament there's so many teams that are right at the top right now um we've reeled off so
07:33many including belgium netherlands italy england france uh portugal um they're just like on another
07:42you know we saw like uh when they when they came in and won it um in back in 92 showed you like
07:47sometimes a pretty average team can go all the way but there's just too many top top top teams
07:53right now and these average teams are fairly high quality average teams we're still just
07:59getting found out because they don't have that extra five percent of these teams data to get
08:04over the line true that's true okay belgium will definitely put to the test here so let's move on
08:08to the netherlands who booked their spot into the last 16 they saw austria 2-0 memphis dupuy
08:15scored a lovely penalty if gareth bale was watching that's the way you do it gareth
08:20and dumfries sealed it with a second uh it went as we thought it would didn't we
08:26yeah to me it was just a fairly straightforward game in terms of getting the points on the board
08:31and the netherlands obviously had a little bit of a scare in the first game and we want to make sure
08:36that we kind of just steady the ship and we did that dumfries getting another goal this
08:39boy is going to be a little bit of a find of the tournament if he keeps that form up as well
08:43so he's got a shirt on he must have something to say i mean surely netherlands i didn't expect it
08:53to be a straightforward game let's be honest after the last game he thought that it's going to be a
08:56tough game austria going to give a fight and but in the end superb a very impressive performance
09:01from the dutch i've got to say you know de ligt came back he made a huge difference the midfield
09:07is obviously world class it's one of the highest quality midfielders they have in this tournament
09:11let's be honest the dutch do have quality but i didn't think it would be a straightforward game
09:16and again dumfries is a man in form two goals in two games yes all right that's pretty impressive
09:22you've got to say i've so the dutch are there obviously they've qualified for the round of 16
09:28so let's see what they have in their bag charm impressed by netherlands yesterday yes especially
09:34i i think uh sahil he told the right buttons there because uh dumfries was simply brilliant
09:40so was matthew delight actually it was a delight to watch him today before that
09:47part of the day yeah
09:52you know what i think austria they shot themselves in the foot again again they've got such a good
09:56player in david alaba we know he plays really well out wide but he again again they started him
10:02in a three at the back and he was wasted there again and there wasn't much attacking play from
10:06austria as a result
10:10very true yeah completely agree like you know david alaba can play as a cdm he can play as a
10:18left back center back and you know you're right you should not be wasted you know if you realize
10:22in that game he had a wonderful shot just missed the post if you realize the game you know he can
10:27go come forward he's got a good shot in him you know definitely he can be used in a better position
10:33but you know austria just didn't play well and after scoring two goals yes austria did have a
10:38few chances after netherlands scored two austria came back into the game but it was just too late
10:43so india and austria have themselves to blame that's it netherlands were brilliant they were
10:50okay let's move on to today's games england come on england against scotland i'll leave it

11:02the first time we played in 25 years mate the last time was
11:06euro 96 and we won that game share a gas going that game is so vivid in my mind it feels like
11:13it was just yesterday doesn't it feel it can't be 25 years but it is and it's alarming to make
11:18me feel it makes me feel as old as i am um i can i can still remember the gary mccallister penalty
11:24and everything else that was going on around the ball moved the ball moved um but um but it did
11:33lead to one of the best goals of all time in a competitive competition competitive competition
11:38um and uh the uh yeah sadly um despite there being a lot more all-around talent in the scotland
11:48squad as opposed to the one or two that they had back in those days um england are just uh
11:54we're vox all conference compared to their premier league right now um it's just uh it's uh
12:01yeah i mean quietly confident because scott if there's one game scotland will get themselves
12:05up floor it'll be this game but again as i said about denmark passion can only take you so far
12:11and this question for you man straight talent will there be an upset today um
12:18um i would say that uh one one draw is not outside the realms of possibility but i don't
12:24think there's going to be any scotland victories to be a scotland victory will not be on the
12:28discussion board tomorrow trust me is one one draw and i'm very ambitious then you know what
12:36sham i can i can see them i can see them being really difficult to be and uh you know raising
12:41their game for this one especially we didn't see them too much as an attacking threat against
12:45chat republic they lost that one two nil i mean they conceded a wonder goal so that was uh that's
12:50unfortunate for them but today i can see them really trying hard really really giving it their
12:55all but in the end i still think there's going to be just a bit too much quality and if we make some
13:00changes to the team if we bring in jack greelish which i think might be starting we might give
13:04deckland rice a bit of a rest because we've got phillips in there he can run that midfield all by
13:08himself so uh if greelish does start he'll change the game apparently maguire he says he's uh he's
13:14ready to play today so i mean this player is coming back for us um i think it'll be a cagey
13:19first half but i think in the second half there won't be too many goals in this i can see a one
13:24nil maybe two nil i think we'll win two nil but i think more than that we've got to try to improve
13:29our performances against croatia we just uh we didn't really look too good apart for that first
13:3420 minutes where we came out of the blocks and try to blow them away uh this one's going to go
13:39all the way uh but i don't i don't see too many goals and uh i can see scotland hanging in for
13:44some time but i think we'll just about beat jemaine one nil and you guys can't be neutral
13:51i would i would get get your opening here because these guys can't be neutral i'm sure they can't
13:55see beyond their team so tell us what you think about it i'll be honest i'm supporting england
14:00in this tournament but i'm going to be honest scotland are going to give a fight come on look
14:04at that midfield again mctominay they're not bad and the defense is okay not great but it's
14:10going to be a good game i think scotland can give a fight to england if they want to
14:15so you know maybe if your argument started really strongly

14:33mcguire is going to start let's be honest and i think tony's back for scotland so that'll make

14:48a risk to put him in i think we looked okay defensively with uh with stones at the back
14:52there so i don't think southgate is going to make too many changes maybe maybe greedish might start
14:57but i won't be surprised if it's the same team that beat croatia yeah i agree because uh he
15:03they haven't got it southgate won't risk it because he would wait for way to unleash uh
15:06mcguire maybe in the round of 16 yeah right it's two other games let's have some quick
15:12predictions for croatia against republic i'm gonna go with croatia 2-0 what do you think shaman
15:19uh i would like to agree with you to needle for croatia because i love that i love that
15:24side their mortgage is still there and they're doing it all right but the thing is they're still
15:27an aging side so you can see if they're cringing along uh i don't know but i would uh i mean i
15:34would back them to win uh say two zero matt what do you think i think it'll be two one i mean the
15:40checks the checks have got their eye for gold now and i think that after that um halfway halfway
15:45love they'll be they'll be trying to be sure they'll be they'll be they'll be shooting on
15:50site now because they know that um i think they take another win that's there in the last 16 so
15:55they'll just be going for it and they know that croatia and other teams to be so this is a great
15:59chance for them so i'd say i'm gonna go with two one to croatia two one croatia and then we've got
16:06sweden and slovakia i think sweden will just about scrape through 1-0 what do you think shama

16:15but i won't be sitting up to watch anyway
