00:00Paul, 1-1 draw against Monmouth Hills, dominated territory, possession, chances, but I guess
00:06just one of those where you just had to be a bit more clinical maybe?
00:10Yeah, it was a flat night. We dominated every aspect of the game. We missed two real clear-cut
00:18setters. They got to go in. And then we gave a goal away, a criminal goal, which sort of
00:23deflated the rest of the second half. Yeah, we just didn't do enough to win the game in
00:28the end.
00:29Yeah, early doors could have gone ahead really. The one Leeds had at the far post real early
00:33on that, wasn't it?
00:34Yeah, that goes in and it's a slightly different game. They come here and put another team
00:40to come in. They just sat behind the ball, had no interest of doing anything. And yeah,
00:45we found it difficult.
00:46Yeah, I mean, I guess you've got used to teams doing that, haven't you? It's a compliment
00:51in a way, obviously, isn't it, for how well you've been doing this season. But yeah, I'd
00:56say if you get that first one early, it can be different, can't it? And at half-time,
01:01what did you want to do in the second half, just to sort of kick on?
01:05Yeah, just to move the ball a little bit more tempo when we pass it forward, you know, the
01:09set and try and exploit a little bit down the side. So there's a lot of space down there,
01:13especially Gio's side. But you know, we come out of it, we started quite fast and we got
01:18the goal and it looked like, you know, I was hoping we'd go on and kick on and win the
01:23game by two or three. But yeah, the goal was a killer. It's deflated everyone.
01:27Yeah, it was obviously a bit of a sort of fortunate one, really. I think it's a bit
01:31of a cross, really, isn't it? They're equalised.
01:33Yeah, it's just a spoon shot, yeah. You know, I don't like being critical of the players
01:37because I back them all the time, but you've just got to step back and catch it. It's as
01:40simple as that.
01:41And obviously, as a fact, you know, you'd had that great start to the second half, Owen
01:44Dean, and then that happens literally two, three minutes later as well, doesn't it? Almost
01:48immediately.
01:49Yeah, you know, like I say, I think it deflated the boys, you know, especially not playing
01:54for so long and, you know, trying to get going again. And yeah, we just couldn't get going,
01:58made the saves. I think they freshened it up a little bit. But again, you know, we just
02:02lacked in the final thirds. You know, Great's got to put that away, six yards out. And it's
02:06gone wide and Steps has had a free header from a corner. And yeah, it just wasn't to
02:11be.
02:12Obviously, first game for three weeks. Obviously, you've been ticking over in training and that
02:16sort of thing. But obviously, I guess it does. Does it take a bit of time to get back
02:20to match sharpness?
02:21Yeah, 100%. Yeah, it's been a long time without playing. You know, they've been playing every
02:27week pretty much with the 3G they've got and the fixtures that fell for them. So, yeah,
02:31you know, it's going to take us another couple of games to get into our stride. But, you
02:34know, we've got to pick up the wins as we get into our stride. You know, we've got to
02:37find a way of winning these games.
02:39And I mean, it's obvious now, obviously, with all the fixtures coming up, it's going to
02:43be pretty relentless, isn't it? Saturdays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, every week now
02:47for a long time.
02:48Yeah, for the next year, four or five weeks most probably. We've got that. I think there's
02:52only two or three midweeks left in our calendar. So, yeah, we've got to hope the weather is
02:58good to us and we can start getting these games on.
03:00Yeah, and yeah, obviously, a quick turnaround to Southall on Saturday. Yeah, just want to
03:05obviously sort of crack on there and sort of get back to winning ways and keep pushing
03:09on.
03:10Yeah, it's a bit more of an open game and a bit more excitement to it.
