Das Playstation Horrorvideospiel Until Dawn folgt acht Freunden, die gemeinsam an einem abgelegenen Ort in den Bergen zusammenkommen. Dort werden sie konfrontiert mit einem mysteriösen Mörder, kannibalischen Wendigos und einer geheimnisvollen Seilbahn. Gemeinsam muss sich die Gruppe ihren Ängsten stellen, wenn sie die Nacht lebend überstehen wollen. Wie genau die Handlung des Spiels in der gleichnamigen Verfilmung umgesetzt wird, ist derzeit noch nicht bekannt, aber Regisseur und Drehbuchautor Gary Dauberman hat bereits die Drehbücher für die Horror-Franchises Es, Annabelle und The Nun geschrieben und damit zum Erfolg geführt.
