00:00Two blockbuster games on the Super Sunday. The first match, Delhi versus Mumbai, where Mumbai had, I believe, had seized the game.

00:23Today is day two of IPL and what a cracking day today. Two good matches and two great

00:31chases. The first of the double header turned out to be an exhilarating contest today.

00:37Joining me and Anish today is Gulf News Sports Editor Satish. Before we get into it,

00:46let's head over to Anish to find out what he thinks about today's following games.

00:51Hi, Shyam and hello to all the beautiful people of Gulf News. Two blockbuster games on the Super

00:56Sunday. The first match, Delhi versus Mumbai, where Mumbai had, I believe, had seized the game.

01:02But somehow, Akshar Patel and Ilalit Yadav pulled off a coup. And in the last game,

01:07which I was witness to the game live at the Dubai Padil Stadium, Punjab finally broke the jinx of

01:13winning closed games and went on to win a game. Thanks to Devon Smith and of course, to the other

01:18players. But I'm happy Punjab were there finally through this game. Satish, tell us about the first

01:25game where Mumbai looked home and dry before Akshar Patel and Lillit Yadav pulled up the

01:33chestnuts from the fire. I think it is not just Mumbai, Shyam. If you look at the entire episode,

01:42the last three games, the teams have been quite reliant on the pace bowlers.

01:49But the pace bowlers are leaking runs. So I think the biggest disadvantage in Mumbai's

01:54game was they had just one spinner in Murugan Ashwin. So I think that's where they went wrong.

02:01And the wicket is actually nicely, the ball is coming onto the bat nicely. So it makes it that

02:06much more easier when the ball comes in fast as well. So I think that's where every team got wrong.

02:11If you look at all the teams, whether it is Mumbai, whether it is even, for that matter,

02:15RCB, they have not been… Even RCB, they had two spinners. But I think that their left-hand spinner,

02:24he just bowled one over. So I think that's where the teams are misleading the conditions.

02:32Okay. Coming back to Anis. Anis, Delhi's chase was incredible, isn't it? And

02:38considering that they are without Warner, they are without Nokia,

02:43they are also without Mitchell Marshall. And what a chase that was.

04:02brilliant performance from Kuldeep Yadav, which augurs well for the Indian team because

04:07I think he can be a good T20 specialist coming to the World Cup. So, that's a good one.

04:13And Ishaan Kishan, we all expected him. Even last year, the team was backing him. Only thing is,

04:19I think he was under too much pressure to perform. So, he was not able to deliver the good.

04:24But this year, starting from the first game, they backed him. And he also must have been a bit easy

04:31to play. So, he got a good knock. Both are very good performances. And it should do well for the

04:38Indian team going forward to the year. Before we wrap up, Aniz, what is the takeaway from the

04:45Punjab game? I mean, they seem to come after… Even after every fall of every major wicket,

04:54whether Livingston is gone or whether it is anybody, they kept going. And the positivity

05:01was amazing. So, what is your key takeaway here? Honestly, this was a match which I could see

05:07live and right in front of my eyes. It was a belter of a wicket. 200 was a par score, not a

05:13match score where you could say that RCB batted them out. But what was important that they got

05:20a good start in the powerplay through their openers. And then they went on. Livingston, even though

05:24played a cameo, but very importantly, they batted Hasaranga very smartly. And if you ask me the

05:31takeaway, what was important is Shah Rukh Khan kept his head down. And with the support of Odin Smith,

05:36who probably leaked a lot of runs, he ensured that he scored big runs when required and mattered.

05:41And they won with that more than an over to spare. So, I'm happy Punjab won.

05:45And finally, they broke the jinx of winning close games.

05:49Absolutely.

05:55You can't deny that. Kohli batted well for Faf. What an inning that is. But Punjab Kings,

06:00look at that. Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, Vanuka Rajapakshe, Livingston and Shah Rukh Khan.
