00:00First is the service to the Filipinos, this is the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to the local candidates in front of the hot hall for the local elections.

00:12And the President's reminder to follow the results of the decision of the people, Clay Zalpardilla in the center of the news.

00:21President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called to the candidates to support the real goal of running in the Hatol ng Bayan 2025.

00:34The President said this in the first year of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, the mayors from different parts of the country are united.

00:44The hottest election is being fought by the local government.

00:50As a matter of fact, I think, you may agree with me, mayors, you can see this, the hottest election is the barangay.

00:58That's the easiest, everyone will know each other, everyone will have children, that's why it's personal.

01:05Let's not forget that we are here, we entered the service of the public to help the people of the country.

01:16Even though the election is hot, the President reminded us to ensure unity after the election.

01:23After the election, I know that sometimes it's very difficult to cool your head again.

01:32But we need to do that because we need everyone who wants to help, to join hands to help.

01:44In the upcoming Hatol ng Bayan 2025, only two candidates will be elected.

01:50Their positions will be extended or the term will be completely terminated.

01:55President Marcos did not hesitate to maintain the positive effect on those who will run, even if they did not win the election.

02:02So as this term comes to a close, I encourage you to reflect on the work that you have done.

02:07And whatever path you choose after this, whether you seek another mandate or move on to a new chapter in your lives,

02:15I trust that you will embrace the same grit, passion, and commitment to service.

02:21Last year, mayors were appointed as the first servants of the people and a role model for the government

02:30to provide quality services, especially during the pandemic.

02:35President Marcos recognized the important role of local leaders and increased the number of local government units

02:44that joined the Seal of Local Governance from 493 in 2023 to 740 in 2024.

02:55As part of the budget, President Marcos will increase the number of local government units,

03:01build a farm-to-market road, and implement good government in the country.
