00:00Regarding the travel advice, we usually advise passengers who are traveling through Dubai Airport
00:06to follow the hygiene advice that were announced by the health authorities.
00:12The most important advice is to keep the hand hygiene.
00:16To sanitize your hand or wash the hands regularly.
00:20Avoid touching common areas, surfaces and then touching your face,
00:25especially eyes, nose and mouth.
00:27And to be careful when sneezing or when coughing.
00:31It is usually advised to use either a handkerchief or to cover your nose and mouth.
00:37And that is all to prevent spread of infection.
00:41When travelers are traveling into Dubai through the airport,
00:46we usually perform two kinds of screening.
00:49The first one is the thermal scanning.
00:51And all the passengers traveling into Dubai will undergo the thermal scanning.
00:56The scanners are done through a remote camera.
01:00And the temperature is being measured through the device.
01:04So there is no actual contact between the device and the passenger.
01:08They just have to walk through the area of screening.
01:11The other test that is being done currently at the airport,
01:15it's the laboratory testing.
01:18Where we actually have specified the countries of concern.
01:22And passengers traveling into Dubai from these countries will undergo a laboratory test
01:28where a sample from the nasal secretion is being collected.
01:31And it's being tested in the laboratory.
01:34Now passengers who undergo the laboratory test are advised to go ahead
01:40and can leave the airport and go back home.
01:43We usually advise them to stay at home until their lab results are out,
01:47which is usually within 24 hours.
01:50Now if their lab results are negative or positive,
01:54they are usually informed by the public health department at Dubai Health Authority.
01:58Negative results, they can perform their daily routine active life.
02:03Positive results, they will be advised to come in
02:07and for further treatment and investigation by our physicians at the hospitals.
02:12People who are planning to travel to countries of concern
02:15and then they decide to come back to Dubai,
02:18then they should expect that a 14-day quarantine will be implemented.
02:22And this is actually to guarantee their safety,
02:25the safety of their families and of their community.
02:28Now during this quarantine, they will be contacted regularly by medical staff
02:35and they will be tested to assure their safety and their well-being.
02:40People who are traveling to countries that are not listed as a country of concern,
02:45we just advise to follow the regular guidelines of preventing the spread of infection
02:51through hand hygiene and through avoiding crowded areas
02:55and avoiding the sneezing and the coughing.
02:59The quarantine or the home quarantine will be implemented on passengers
03:04who are traveling from countries of concern.
03:06Now the countries of concern are usually listed online
03:10according to the results that are published by every country
03:15on the website of the World Health Organization.
03:18Now the reason why we cannot specify what are these countries
03:23is because the list changes regularly.
03:25But we will announce every day the concerned countries
03:32so that people would be aware of whether or not they have to be screened.
03:36Also for travelers who are concerned about whether or not
03:41they will perform the screening or the quarantine,
03:44we do have a call center in Dubai Health Authority where they can contact us
03:48and we will give them all the information that they need to know about their travel.
03:51Quarantine is actually for all age groups,
03:54simply because the COVID-19 virus can affect children and adults.
04:01Usually children are not kept alone, they would be with their parents
04:05and clear instruction will be given to them by the medical team
04:09who would be advising them on what to do during the 14-day period.
04:12You know because it depends on what they have.
04:14Because sometimes in the quarantine it's not just COVID-19,
04:18maybe they have other coexisting diseases like diabetes, hypertension or any other disease.
04:23So they will be getting the medical support continuously.
