00:00Rice is now cheaper under the Rice for All program that can be bought in Kadiwa stores.

00:06The Department of Agriculture's target is to lower the price of imported rice.

00:10We have first news from Bernadette Reyes.

00:15The price of rice in Kadiwa centers is being lowered under the Rice for All program.

00:21100 percent broken rice used to cost P36.00 is now P33.00.

00:2625 percent broken rice used to cost P38.00 is now P35.00.

00:325 percent broken rice used to cost P45.00 per kilo is now P43.00.

00:38This is a big thing for those who can afford a limited budget.

00:42Just like us mothers who can't afford a budget.

00:46This is a big help.

00:48I hope the price will still go down so that we can afford our budget.

00:54But there are other retailers that haven't been able to lower the price.

00:58According to the DA, they will be given a discount.

01:01As of now, ma'am, we haven't been able to lower that amount

01:05because our budget is still high and if we run out again,

01:09we will order that amount in the future so that they can still afford what they want.

01:14DTI and DA are also consulting with groceries and supermarkets to sell the rice.

01:20Of course, if they can lower the price or if they can sell it at a lower price,

01:29Because at least the consumers have choices of a lower price.

01:34While the price of rice is going down in Kadiwa Centers,

01:37the Department of Agriculture is also targeting to lower the price of imported rice.

01:42From P55.00 per kilo,

01:45the target is to lower the price of 5% imported rice from February 15 to P52.00 per kilo.

01:52It's a difficult task for other retailers because they have almost no income from rice.

01:58We won't be able to afford it.

02:00Because we are paying the price of labor, we will have to pay a business permit.

02:05World prices are also going down.

02:07Theoretically, if the world price of rice goes down,
