00:00Mr. President, why should the king take in the
00:02Palestinian people?
00:03He's made clear he doesn't want to.
00:05The President Well, I don't know.
00:07But he may have just something to say because
00:09we discussed, just briefly, I think maybe you
00:11want to say it now, or?
00:12Prime Minister Netanyahu Well, Mr. President, I
00:14think we have to keep in mind that there is a plan
00:18from Egypt and the Arab countries.
00:20We're being invited by Mohammed bin Salman to
00:22discussions in Riyadh.
00:24I think the point is, is how do we make this work
00:26in a way that is good for everybody?
00:28Obviously, we have to look at the best interests of
00:32the United States, of the people in the region,
00:34especially to my people of Jordan.
00:36And we're going to have some interesting
00:38discussions today.
00:39I think one of the things that we can do right away
00:41is take 2,000 children that are either cancer
00:45children or in a very ill state to Jordan as quickly
00:49as possible, and then wait for, I think, the
00:52Egyptians to present their plan on how we can work
00:55with the President to work on al-Qaida challenges.
00:59I didn't know that, what you just said, 2,000
01:02children with cancer or other problems.
01:05And that's really a beautiful gesture.
01:08That's really good.
01:09And I think that's going to work out very well.
01:11That's not really what we're talking about today.
01:14I think that's something that's going to work out
01:16automatically, and it's in good shape.
01:19And we discuss it, and other people have
01:22discussed it with us and with me.
01:24That's going to work out.
01:25West Bank is going to work out very well.
01:27The Press Why should the King take in the
01:29Palestinian people?
01:30He's made clear he doesn't want to.
01:32The President Well, I don't know.
01:34But he may have just something to say, because
01:36we discussed just briefly.
01:37I think maybe you want to say it now, or?
01:39Prime Minister Al-Jazeera Well, Mr. President, I
01:41think we have to keep in mind that there is a plan
01:46from Egypt and the Arab countries.
01:48We're being invited by Mohammed bin Salman to
01:50discussions in Riyadh.
01:51I think the point is, is how do we make this work in
01:53a way that is good for everybody?
01:56Obviously, we have to look at the best interests of
01:59the United States, of the people in the region,
02:01especially to my people of Jordan.
02:03And we're going to have some interesting
02:05discussions today.
02:06I think one of the things that we can do right away
02:08is take 2,000 children that are either cancer
02:12children or in a very ill state to Jordan as quickly
02:16as possible, and then wait for I think the Egyptians
02:20to present their plan on how we can work with the
02:22President to work on the Gaza challenges.
02:25The Press So you're not just asking me to accept
02:27you in my way?
02:28President Trump Excuse me, wait.
02:30Just please.
02:31I didn't know that, what you just said, 2,000
02:33children with cancer or other problems.
02:36And that's really a beautiful gesture.
02:40That's really good, and we appreciate it.
02:42And we'll be working on the rest.
02:44With Egypt, I think you're going to see some
02:48great progress.
02:49I think with Jordan, you're going to see some great
02:51progress.
02:52The three of us, we'll have some others helping,
02:54and we're going to have some others at a very high
02:56level helping.
02:57And the whole thing will come.
02:58It's not a complex thing to do.
03:00And with the United States being in control of that
03:04piece of land, a fairly large piece of land, you're
03:06going to have stability in the Middle East for the
03:08first time.
03:10And the Palestinians, or the people that live now in
03:14Gaza, will be living beautifully in another
03:16location.
03:17They're going to be living safely.
03:19They're not going to be killed, murdered, and
03:21having to leave every 10 years, because I've been
03:23watching this for so many years.
03:25It's nothing but trouble.
03:27Everyone is being killed.
03:28They're being robbed.
03:30It's like living in hell.
03:33And they're going to end up having a great home,
03:36great families that don't have to get mugged and
03:39killed and beaten up and harassed by Hamas and
03:43everybody else.
03:45And I know we'll be able to work something.
03:47And what you just said about the 2,000 is
03:51fantastic.
03:52It's so beautiful.
03:53It's music to my ears.
03:55But we're going to be able to work something.
03:57And I know we'll be able to work something also with,
04:01I believe, not 100 percent, but 99 percent,
04:05we're going to work out something with Egypt.
04:07The Press.
04:07The Press.
04:08The Press.
04:09The Press.
04:09The Press.
04:10The Press.
04:11The Press.
04:11The Press.
04:12The Press.
04:13The Press.
04:13The Press.
04:14The Press.
04:15The Press.
04:15The Press.
04:16The Press.
04:17No, we're not going to use to buy Gaza.
04:19We're not going to buy anything.
04:20We're going to have it.
04:21And we're going to keep it, and we're going to
04:23make sure that there's going to be peace and
04:25there's not going to be any problem and nobody is
04:27going to question it.
04:29And we're going to run it very properly.
04:32And eventually, we'll have economic development at a
04:35very large scale, maybe the largest scale on that
04:37site.
04:38And we'll have lots of good things built there,
04:41including hotels and office buildings and
04:43housing and other things.
04:45And we'll make that site into what it should be.
04:48And the people from Gaza, who wouldn't be able to be
04:50there for years because you're talking about just
04:53to get it and prepare it and to take care of all of
04:56the problems that currently it has, as you
04:58know, tunnels and people are in those tunnels.
05:01And you have some good people and some bad
05:04people.
05:05And you may have hostages right now.
05:07You know, you have the hostages possibly there.
05:10They don't know where they are.
05:11And, you know, I have a Saturday deadline, and I
05:14don't think they're going to make the deadline
05:16personally.
05:16I think they they want to play tough guy, but we'll
05:20see how tough they are.
05:22But it's it's going to be a wonderful thing.
05:24It's going to be wonderful for the Middle East.
05:25I think it'll turn the Middle East.
05:27I think you're going to have peace in the Middle
05:28East.
05:29You're going to eventually have peace in the Middle
05:30East.
05:31The Press couldn't this deadline risk undermining
05:36the talks that you're having with the king
05:38today and risk the kind of wider piece that you're
05:41trying to because it's not we're not talking about a
05:43big situation.
05:44We're talking about something that can go very
05:46quickly.
05:48We're talking about it's going to go quickly.
05:49It's not going to take a long time.
05:50Okay, that's not going to take a long time.
05:53You know, bullies, you know, the bully is right.
05:55You know, the bully, I've always and I found it
05:58throughout my life.
05:59A bully is the weakest person.
06:02And they're bullies.
06:03Hamas is bullies.
06:05The weakest people are bullies.
06:06You know that.
06:07Right.
06:08All right.
06:08Go ahead.
06:09President, you were saying that Palestinians will
06:11live somewhere else safe.
06:13Where exactly do you want them to live?
06:15Well, it's not where I want them to live.
06:18It's going to be where we ultimately choose as a
06:20group.
06:21And I believe we'll have a parcel of land in Jordan.
06:25I believe we'll have a parcel of land in Egypt.
06:28We may have someplace else.
06:30But I think when we finish our talks, we'll have a
06:33place where they're going to live very happily and
06:36very safely.
06:37And, you know, don't forget, they only want to
06:40be on the Gaza Strip because they don't know
06:43anything else.
06:43They never had an alternative.
06:45And they don't want to be on the Gaza Strip, but
06:47they have no choice.
06:48They have to be.
06:49And they're being killed there at levels that
06:51nobody's ever seen.
06:52No, no place in the world is like as dangerous as
06:56the Gaza Strip.
06:57They don't want to be there.
06:58They have no alternative.
06:59When they have an alternative, not one
07:01person will want to stay where they are.
07:03Nobody wants to stay there.
07:04They're living in hell.
07:06It's a it's a death trap.
07:08Mr. President, how do you know that the Palestinians
07:11don't want to leave their land?
07:12Some people say this is ethnic cleansing.
07:15You won't be able to force them to leave their land.
07:17We're moving them to a beautiful location where
07:21they have new homes, where they can live safely,
07:24where they'll have doctors and medical and all of
07:27those things.
07:28And I think it's going to be great.
07:29Yeah.
07:30Any questions?
07:31King Abdullah, what do you think about the U.S.
07:32taking over the Gaza Strip?
07:33Do you want to see the U.S.
07:35own the Gaza Strip?
07:36Well, I think, as I said earlier, the President is
07:39looking at Egypt coming to present their plan, as I
07:42said, we will be in Saudi Arabia to discuss how we
07:45can work with the President and with the
07:47United States.
07:48So I think let's wait until the Egyptians can
07:51come and present it to the President and not get
07:54ahead of ourselves.
07:54And is there a parcel of land, Jordan, that you're
07:56willing to have Palestinians?
07:57Well, I think what we said, I have to look at the
07:59best interests of my country.
08:01I think the President is very happy that we do
08:03this thing with 2,000 children as quickly as
08:06possible.
08:07And again, I believe that the President is looking
08:09forward to getting a group of us Arabs here to
08:12discuss the overall plan.
08:14And last question, the 2,000 children, are those
08:17from the Gaza Strip?
08:18Absolutely from the Gaza Strip.
08:19Are you willing to change your mind, Mr. President?
08:20That's from the Gaza Strip, the 2,000.
08:23Are you willing to change your mind if you hear the
08:25Egyptian and the Arab plan end of the month?
08:28If they present you something different, are
08:30you open to that?
08:31I think we sort of have gone down the line.
08:34We know pretty much what is going to be presented.
08:38And I think it's going to be something that's going
08:40to be magnificent for the Palestinians.
08:43They're going to be in love with it.
08:45I did very well with real estate.
08:46I can tell you about real estate.
08:47They're going to be in love with it.
08:48The Press It's a very small number of people
08:56relative to other things that have taken place
08:58over the decades and centuries.
09:01It's a very small number of people.
09:03And they're living a terrible life.
09:06Look at the way they're living now.
09:07Nobody is living like that in the entire world.
09:13They're living under buildings that are mostly
09:15fallen down and will continue to fall down.
09:18And they're living under.
09:19People are being killed every day.
09:20The conditions are horrible.
09:22There are no conditions anywhere in the world that
09:25are worse than the Gaza Strip right now.
09:26The Press But, don't you have concern that you can't
09:28get all hell?
09:29You said all hell will break out if all the
09:31hostages are not released on Saturday.
09:33What did you mean by that?
09:34And are you encouraging Netanyahu to walk away
09:36from this deal?
09:37And how do you talk about this?
09:38The President So, I've looked at what, at the
09:41condition of people coming out of the hostage
09:44situation, and it's horrible.
09:47I looked at the before and after.
09:49Yesterday, three young men, one is dead now, as
09:54you know.
09:55The older gentleman who died, which everybody said
09:57he was alive and well, he's dead.
10:00But the three young men, and I looked at them from
10:03a short while ago, and I looked at them now.
10:05They're emaciated.
10:07They look like Holocaust survivors.
10:09They looked — I mean, they'll get better, but
10:14they — they're in rough shape.
10:16They were treated really badly, and we've heard
10:18things from them since.
10:21And I think the reason that Hamas is playing so
10:25cute is because they probably — they saw the
10:28reaction to these three people that came out.
10:31And the — and the other was — look, the one
10:32young lady had her hand blown off, practically.
10:35And they were not in great shape either, but she's
10:39missing her fingers and a big part of her hand.
10:42You know what she did?
10:43She was stopping a bullet that was aimed at her.
10:46She went like that, then it blew off her hand.
10:50Now, I think what they're — I think they want
10:53time because I think they — the people that they
10:55have living are in such bad shape because they're
10:58sending the most healthy people out because they
11:01don't want to send the least healthy people out.
11:04And there was an uproar when they saw the people
11:06from yesterday.
11:08So these people are — so I don't want to do two,
11:12and then we do another two in another week, and then
11:14we do four in three weeks.
11:16No, no.
11:17They either have them out by Saturday at 12 o'clock
11:20or all bets are off.
11:22The Press.
11:23The Press.
11:24Mr. President, would you still consider
11:26withholding aid to those countries if they don't
11:28accept your plans to accept those —
11:30Well, I don't want to say that because we've had
11:32such a good relationship and we're doing so well
11:35just in the short time that we've been talking.
11:37I mean, the King just made a statement — I didn't
11:42ask him to do that — about literally saving
11:462,000 young children from the Gaza Strip.
11:51We didn't know about that.
11:52You didn't know about that.
11:53Nobody did except for the King and his son.
11:55I assume you told your son, right?
11:58And I just thought it was great.
12:00No, I think we'll do something.
12:01I don't have to threaten with money.
12:03We do — we contribute a lot of money to Jordan
12:06and to Egypt, by the way.
12:08A lot.
12:09To both.
12:10But I don't have to threaten that.
12:11I don't think — I think we're above that.
12:13I do believe we're above that, so —
12:16Would you consider other countries,
12:17not Jordan and Egypt?
12:18There was talks about Indonesia, Albania,
12:21other places.
12:22Yeah, sure.
12:23We would.
12:23And we have other countries that want to get involved.
12:27We have a lot of people that want to get involved.
12:29There's a great sense of wanting to help the Palestinians.
12:34They really — there's a lot of good countries out there,
12:36people that rule those countries with big hearts.
12:40And this gentleman is at the top of the list.
12:42But if they don't want to leave,
12:43how are you going to force them, Mr. President?
12:45Oh, they're going to be great.
12:46They're going to — they're going to be very happy.
12:48Your Majesty, should we expect that the Jordanian response
12:52will be part of a coordinated Arab response?
12:56The response will be from a multitude of countries —
13:00Arab, international.
13:02I know the Europeans want to step in.
13:04And again, we'll probably have to look to the help
13:06of the United States to make sure that COGAD,
13:09which is the clearing agency on the Israeli side,
13:11makes it as efficient as possible.
13:13Because 2,000 kids, the best way to get to them
13:15is by helicopters and get them straight to our institutions.
13:18And I also believe that quite a few countries
13:20would also probably like to take some of those kids
13:23and have them treated in their hospitals.
13:25So, we hope to launch this ASAP.
13:26Yes, and that's right.
13:28This should have been done by the Biden administration.
13:30But, you know, they didn't do anything.
13:32They didn't know what the hell they were doing.
13:33So, this should have been done by the Biden administration.
13:36This should have never happened,
13:37because October 7th would have never happened.
13:39If I were President, zero chance of happening.
13:42You wouldn't have had that whole mess
13:44where the Middle East got blown up,
13:45and you wouldn't have had Ukraine and Russia fighting.
13:49That would have never happened.
13:51And, by the way, we're making good progress there, I think.
13:54I really think we're making some very good progress.
13:56Mr. President, you said before that the U.S. would buy Gaza,
14:00and today you just said we're not going to buy Gaza.
14:03We're not going to have to buy.
14:04We're going to have Gaza. We don't have to buy.
14:07There's nothing to buy. We will have Gaza.
14:10What does that mean? No reason to buy.
14:13There is nothing to buy. It's Gaza.
14:14It's a war-torn area. We're going to take it.
14:18We're going to hold it. We're going to cherish it.
14:21We're going to get it going eventually,
14:24where a lot of jobs are going to be created
14:26for the people in the Middle East.
14:28It's going to be for the people in the Middle East.
14:30But I think it could be a diamond.
14:31It could be an absolute,
14:33tremendous asset for the Middle East.
14:35And you're going to have peace.
14:37It's going to bring peace in the Middle East.
14:38Gaza, the way it is right now, every 10 years,
14:41you're going to have the same thing happening.
14:43I've watched it so long,
14:45all the death and destruction of Gaza.
14:47The civilization has been wiped out in Gaza.
14:51No, it's going to be a tremendous thing.
14:53It's fronting on the sea.
14:56It's going to be a great economic development job.
14:58It's going to put people to work, a lot of people to work.
15:01And those people are all going to be from the Middle East.
15:03The Press And just to follow up with one on that,
15:07for King Abdullah, can you clarify again, sir,
15:10how do you feel about the U.S. taking Gaza,
15:13as the President said?
15:14Prime Minister Netanyahu Well, again, this is something
15:15that we, as Arabs, will be coming to the United States.
15:21It was something that we're going to talk about later
15:23to discuss all these options.
15:25The Press And, Mr. President, take it under what authority?
15:27It is sovereignty.
15:28The President Under the U.S. authority.
15:30The Press And, Mr. President, would you seek
15:31to personally develop property in Gaza after this?
15:33The President No, no.
15:35I've had a great career in real estate.
15:37The Press Mr. President, what's your team —
15:39The President You know, when you've done what I've done
15:40in the last number of years,
15:42including the four years that we should have been
15:46doing something else, frankly,
15:47because people see that now, for sure.
15:49But when you've done what I've done,
15:53you can just do more good for people when you're President.
15:57When you're President, we can do things.
15:59This is all things that should have been done,
16:02but actually things that shouldn't have —
16:03had to be done.
16:05Gaza, absolutely, it would have been —
16:07it would have been so great if the Biden administration
16:09would have started this.
16:11But actually, in all fairness to them, it was —
16:16they should have never let it happen.
16:18It did happen. And because of the fact
16:20that they let this happen, this catastrophe of October 7th,
16:24something like this becomes practical and very real,
16:27meaning the development and all of the things
16:30that I've talked about with respect to the Gaza Strip.
16:34If you didn't have the October 7th catastrophe
16:37and it was a horrible catastrophe,
16:39then probably you wouldn't be talking about that.
16:42But the only thing I can say is,
16:45this is going to bring stability and peace to the Middle East.
16:48And ultimately, when it's developed,
16:51which will be in quite a while from now,
16:54because we want to let things calm down.
16:57But when it's developed, it's going to bring
16:58tremendous numbers of jobs to the Middle East,
17:01including the people of your country.
17:03The Press.
17:04The Press.
17:05The Press.
17:07There are many Palestinians —
17:08even though you say that everything is going to be
17:10beautiful, everything is going to be lovely —
17:11they're not going to want to go back.
17:12There are going to be people who want to go back
17:14and feel like that it is their right to do that.
17:16You haven't said, will there be any type of repercussions
17:18or anything that happens.
17:19The President. We don't think that's going to happen.
17:21We think it's going to — we think people are going to be
17:23very happy, thrilled. A lot of those people
17:25that you're talking about are going to end up
17:26maybe living there and maybe working there,
17:29but it'll be in a different form.
17:32We have had tremendous support for this project.
17:35And we think the biggest asset of the project —
17:38it's going to bring peace, ultimately, to the Middle East.
17:41All right.
17:42Go ahead, behind you. You've asked enough.
17:44The Press. Mr. President, one of your promises
17:47on the campaign trail is to bring peace to the Middle East.
17:50It was a promise to your voters, Arab voters here.
17:54The Arab voters in the United States oppose this.
17:57What do you say to that?
17:58Well, you know, if you look at Michigan,
18:00where we have a large Arab population —
18:03as you know, I was just telling the King that we won —
18:07as you know, I won the Arab population.
18:09Now, when I started off, I wasn't leading.
18:11And when I finished, a few months later,
18:14we started campaigning in Michigan.
18:16And when I finished, we won it by a tremendous amount —
18:20by 30 points.
18:23So my relationship with the Arab population has been fantastic.
18:27And my relationship with the Middle East is very good.
18:30Very good with all the countries.
18:32Just about all the countries. Let's see.
18:34I would say all the countries.
18:36And they all want to do something,
18:38and they want to see peace in the Middle East.
18:40So all the stories you hear about the Middle East
18:42not really wanting peace — that they want war, they want this,
18:46they want to go a certain place.
18:48Let me tell you, those stories are false.
18:49They want to have peace. I know them all very well.
18:52They want to have peace.
18:53They want to have a good life like other people.
18:56And we'll bring — this will be a big factor
18:58in bringing peace to the Middle East.
19:00Thank you very much, everybody.
19:01All right, guys.
19:02Thank you, guys.
19:03Thank you, guys.
19:04Bye now.
