00:00Hello, everybody, and welcome to Overclocked.
00:04All right, it's September, so that must mean one thing.
00:06We've got new Apple products.
00:08This watch is really something new and different.
00:11This is not the watch that Apple put out three, four years ago.
00:15It is quickly turning into a medical device in and of itself.
00:18Now, when it launches on Friday, it won't have everything we saw in the keynote.
00:22What they had on the keynote showed all kinds of advanced features,
00:25which will monitor your heart and can possibly tie into other things in the future,
00:29including maybe monitoring diabetes.
00:32Now, because that is a medical device type of structure,
00:35Apple is being very careful, and in the U.S., they've actually gone out and got FDA approval.
00:40So when here in the UAE, they're talking to the authorities from what we understand,
00:44but there's no approval yet, and maybe we'll see it later on this year, hopefully,
00:48but no confirmation from either the government or from Apple on when these features will launch.
00:53Of course, if you're an outdoor fanatic, there's a lot of features here.
00:57This watch no longer needs to be told when you're going to start a workout.
01:00If it notices your heart rate is up and you're starting to move around,
01:04it'll ask you, are you doing a workout and do you want to record it?
01:07A lot of new features and ability to track your workout and your activity when you're out there.
01:12And you don't have to bring your iPhone either.
01:13This will save up to three to four hours of activity
01:16before you have to get back to your watch and download and sync it with your watch.
01:20Apple is still promising that you'll get a full day's charge out of it,
01:24and they've given a new back to it.
01:26And I've asked them, they said there's no time difference in charging.
01:28So this will still be probably a 16 to 18 hour life for the day,
01:32in which you'll have to charge it overnight.
01:34So the new watch is not cheap.
01:36It starts off at $1599, Durham's, and up from there,
01:39you can get all different types of models from aluminum to steel,
01:43those with GPS and those without.
01:45And of course, you can get all kinds of various wristbands that go along with it.
01:49We'll be testing this out a lot over the next few weeks.
01:51We're going to see how well it does in the physical fitness activity sector.
01:55And we're hoping to give you some more feedback on the health apps,
01:58of course, as we test it out over the next few weeks.
02:01But right out of the box, it's looking pretty promising.
02:03So we'll let you know more when we have more to share with you.
02:06So for now, I'm Scott Shuey, and this is Overclocked.
