00:00We've announced today a further £300 million funding on top of that that the
00:04Chancellor announced at the budget of £500 million. That's a real increase on
00:08top of £50 million for the local funds for local authorities to build more
00:14affordable and social housing. We think thousands more will come through the
00:18pipeline because of that. We've put some reforms to right-to-buy so they can keep
00:22receipts to get more council housing that we so desperately need in this
00:27country. We think the measures we're taking will unlock thousands more
00:30council and social homes as part of that programme. We want to help councils who
00:34want to build those homes. We see a hundred and sixty thousand children in
00:39temporary accommodation and the cost of that on local authorities is significant
00:43as well as the impact on children's life chances. So we need to build the homes
00:48and we're doing everything we can to turn the tide of decline and build the
00:52houses that people desperately need.
