00:00Good day. Welcome to the Gulf News Update for Monday, November the 7th. Here are the
00:06top stories at this hour. White House rivals Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were still
00:11flailing for a knockout blow today as the presidential race neared its end. With one
00:15day of campaigning left, both sides have packed schedules in the swing states that will decide
00:20whether Clinton can convert her slim opinion poll lead into final victory. The FBI meanwhile
00:25gave a clean slate to Clinton saying it has not changed its view after a renewed probe
00:30into her use of a private email server as Secretary of State. Trump criticized the latest
00:35development saying Clinton is being protected by a rigged system and that it is unbelievable
00:40what she gets away with. Kurdish led Syrian forces have begun an offensive to liberate
00:44Daesh's de facto capital of Raqqa. The forces clashed with extremists north of the Syrian
00:49city and warned neighboring Turkey not to interfere in the operation. The US, France
00:54and Britain said they would provide air support for the offensive. Rental rates in Abu Dhabi's
00:59prime residential units and affordable homes are moving in opposite directions. For prime
01:04units, rents are on the decline, having dropped 5% year on year in the third quarter of this
01:09year. However, the home segment saw a rise in rental rates during the same period, underlining
01:14a general market shift towards affordability. Justin Bieber's Beliebers helped turn him
01:19into the biggest winner Sunday at the MTV EMA European Music Awards. Bieber, who carried
01:25away the most silverware at the MTV EMAs last year with five awards, won Best Song this
01:30time around for his smash Sorry. He also took away the title of Best Canadian Act but was
01:35one of the many winners on the night who did not attend the show. And finally, weather.
01:40Today's high across the UAE will be 33 degrees Celsius, dropping to 23 degrees at night.
01:45That's all for now. Thanks for watching, and as always, you can get the latest news
