00:06Here are the top stories at this hour.
00:09UN chief Ban Ki-moon said he was appalled by the chilling military escalation in Syria's
00:14battleground city of Aleppo.
00:16Residents in the Syrian city cowered indoors as airstrikes toppled buildings and killed
00:21at least 45 civilians.
00:24The Security Council meets today to discuss the upsurge in violence since the Syrian army
00:29announced an offensive to retake the rebel-held east of the devastated city.
00:33Nearly two million civilians were left without water in Aleppo after regime bombardment damaged
00:39a pumping station and rebels shut down another in retaliation, the UN said.
00:45Police officials released two videos showing the shooting death of a black man by police
00:50five days ago that has sparked several nights of protests in Charlotte.
00:54The videos show Keith Scott, 43, exiting his vehicle and falling to the ground.
01:00But they do not answer a crucial question about whether Scott was holding a gun, as
01:05police have said and Scott's family has denied.
01:08Meanwhile, the 20-year-old suspect in the deadly Washington State Mall shooting said
01:12nothing and appeared zombie-like when he was arrested by authorities nearly 24 hours into
01:18an intense manhunt.
01:20Authorities identified the suspect as Arkan Setin of Oak Harbour, Washington.
01:25London police say they are investigating the reported hacking of the iCloud account of
01:30Pippa Middleton, younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, and the alleged theft of 3,000
01:35photographs.
01:36The Sun said it had been contacted by a purported hacker seeking to sell the images for a minimum
01:42of £50,000.
01:43The hacker also claimed to possess Middleton's informal photos of sister Kate with her children
01:49Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
01:51The Metropolitan Police says no arrests have been made.
01:55And finally, the weather.
01:56Today's high across the UAE will be 42 degrees Celsius, dropping to 29 degrees at night.
