00:11A Dubai police officer was shot dead by a colleague on Sunday, Dubai police has said.
00:16The incident happened at Al-Rifa police station towards the ends of the shifts of the officers
00:20involved.
00:22Major General Qamis Mattar Al-Mazainah, Dubai police chief, said the incident was caused
00:27due to personal reasons and had nothing to do with political or ideological defenses.
00:33The suspect was identified as a 24-year-old sergeant from Yemen, while the victim was
00:37also a Yemeni.
00:39Aung San Suu Kyi's opposition appeared on the verge of a landslide election win that
00:43could finally reset Myanmar after decades of army control. As a top member of the ruling
00:48party said, they had lost completely.
00:51The polls, the first contested by Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy since 1990,
00:57saw voter turnout hit around 80 per cent. Official results from the historic polls showed
01:02major energy gains and by this afternoon, the party had swept up 78 of the 88 lower
01:08house seats announced so far.
01:11Ronaldo, an intimate documentary on the Real Madrid and Portuguese star, was launched in
01:16London last night. Made by the team behind award-winning films about Ayrton Senna and

01:41The film's revelations include a confession by Ronaldo's mother, Dolores, that she wanted
01:46to abort him, while Ronaldo talks openly about his brother and late father's struggles
01:51with alcoholism.
01:53Fans of global television phenomenon, Downtown Abbey, mourned the British period drama's
01:58final episode on Monday, but sought comfort in the hope that a one-off Christmas special
02:03would settle unfinished scores.
02:06Almost nine million viewers watched the last episode of the sixth and final series when
02:11it aired on British television. The episode airs in the UAE at 11pm tonight.
02:16The show follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the early
02:2120th century.
02:23And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 35 degrees Celsius, dropping
