00:00How do you explain beauty? The thought kept ringing in my mind as we walked down the misty
00:18hills in Buda. From beautiful walkways to well-kept relics from time past, Budapest,
00:26the capital of a landlocked country, Hungary, opens doors to old-world charm and grandeur.
00:33With history written down and waiting to be discovered, in every nook and corner, the
00:38city is more than just sparse or historical monuments, contrary to what has been often
00:44advertised. A walk from Andrássy Avenue, lined with cafes and modern shopping centres
00:51towards the most visited Hero Square, allows one to soak in the vibrancy of the city and
00:58have a first glance into the lifestyle of Hungarians. But the picture is not as perfect
01:02as it seems and more and more Hungarians are leaving for greener pastures, mainly because
01:08of the unstable economy in Hungary and the comparative prosperity of other European countries.
01:15A boat ride in the mighty Danube River and its banks adorned by a liberty statue, the
01:20magnificent parliament building, thermal spas and remains of royalty make one wonder
01:25why anyone would want to leave this beautiful place. Beauty, as the saying goes, lies in
01:30the eyes of the beholder. But beyond the tales of courage and layers of history, there are
01:35truths that can easily escape the eyes of a passing observer.
