00:00Good day and welcome to the Gulf News update for Thursday, October the 9th. Here are the
00:08top stories at this hour. Five major U.S. airports will soon begin an extra level of
00:13screening to try and catch travelers from Ebola-ravaged countries who may be carrying

00:33sparked by Kurdish protests against the advance of Daesh militants in neighboring Syria's
00:38Kurdish towns of Kobani, also known as Ain al-Arab, led to the death of 19 Kurds. Daesh
00:44controls more than a third of Kobani, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said after
00:49three weeks of fighting, Kurdish forces backed by U.S.-led airstrikes. Members of the new
00:54Palestinian unity government are traveling from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip for their
00:59first cabinet session there, a meeting meant to signal the end of Hamas's control of the
01:04territory. The meeting is set for later today. India lost five wickets for 63 runs on their
01:10way to a heavy 124-run loss to the West Indies in the first one-day international at the
01:14Nehru Stadium in Kochi last night. Marlon Samuels scored an unbeaten 126. The Tories
01:21racked up 321 for six before they bowled out Emma Stoney's side for just 197 in reply in
